Robert Spencer: 8 Reasons You Aren’t Safer than You Were 4 Years Ago

PJMediaBannerSpencer.jpg

In PJ Media this morning I make the case against the appeaser-in-chief.

Are you safer from the global jihad and Islamic supremacism than you were four years ago? Over the last four years, Barack Obama has:

  • Warmly supported the “Arab Spring” revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya (the latter with military aid) that heralded the installation of pro-Sharia Islamic supremacist regimes in each. These regimes are already oppressing women and non-Muslims and striving to outdo their predecessors in anti-Americanism. The Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt, meanwhile, is giving out strong and repeated hints that the Camp David Accords, and Egypt’s uneasy but 30-year-old peace with Israel, are not long for this world.
  • Refused to say a single positive word about the uprising against the bloody Islamic regime in Iran, ostensibly on the grounds that American support would doom the uprising to failure – a possibility that never gave him pause in his rush to praise the Egyptian, Libyan, and Tunisian uprisings. He thus missed an opportunity to weaken and destabilize, at the very least, a rogue regime that is relentlessly pursuing development of nuclear weapons and has made no secret of its genocidal intentions toward Israel.
  • Displayed repeated contempt for Israel and its prime minister, thereby drastically weakening the U.S.’s relationship with its only ally in the Middle East and encouraging jihadists who have vowed to destroy the Jewish state – not least in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
  • Readily acquiesced to the demands of Muslim groups tied to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood that training material for the FBI and Department of Homeland Security be purged of all accurate information about how jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to recruit and motivate terrorists. This has led to a government-wide willful ignorance about the motives and goals of those who have vowed to destroy us, which in turn leads to disastrous policy mistakes based on false assumptions about the outlook and aspirations of Muslim “insurgents.” The most obvious recent consequence of this analytical failure was the murder of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans at the Benghazi consulate by revolutionaries Obama and Stevens had backed on the assumption that they were benign democratic pluralists.
  • Kept American troops in Afghanistan without a clearly defined mission, fighting against a foe, the Taliban, that have so thoroughly infiltrated the government and police force that our troops are murdered by their putative allies in ever-increasing numbers. Our ostensible allies have responded to this infiltration by inviting Taliban members to run for offices in the upcoming elections, making it more unclear than ever what is the purpose of the continuing American presence there, except perhaps to demonstrate that Barack Obama is not weak on defense or soft on jihad terror.
  • Aided and abetted the ever more prevalent idea that when Muslims riot and murder over something a non-Muslim has said or done, the fault, and the responsibility to change his behavior, lies with the non-Muslim. He has done this by blaming the Muhammad video for the Benghazi consulate attack for a considerable period after he knew that it was a jihad attack that had been planned for some time beforehand and had nothing to do with the video. By proclaiming that “the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam,” he has thrown in his lot with those who are demanding curbs on the First Amendment to criminalize the criticism of Islam.

There is more.

For those in the jihadwatch community who are practising Christians:

the American version of the Great Litany.

I have prayed it through on your behalf, this evening.

http://chantblog.blogspot.com.au/2011/03/great-litany.html

And pursuant to that posting:

the Great Litany text, as given above, was the modern (1979) version.

But here is the 1789 version, as used by persons in Episcopalian churches in the USA, more than 200 years ago.

http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/1789/Litany_1789.htm

If you are a Christian person reading this on the eve of the US November 6 2012 election

(whether you are in the USA or in one of those countries - such as Australia - that have historically had friendship and alliance with the USA and have been feeling somewhat insecure of late, as well, for all the reasons Mr Spencer has just outlined in his article)

and you are feeling anxious about what the next few years may bring if Obama is re-elected

(and even if he is not, given the general cluelessness or wilful ignorance of the full menace of the Jihad, that currently seems to prevail in the highest levels of US government and diplomatic corps, and the depth and scale of Muslim infiltration of those highest levels)

then I invite you to click on the link here provided, and pray through the Great Litany from beginning to end, on behalf of the people of the United States, in particular; and on behalf of the people of the whole world.

Good list, Robert! I don't know if these points were in priority order, but I'd agree with putting Obama's support for the Arab Spring near or at the top. Unfortunately he isn't alone as this seems to be the position of the Washington establishment.

To these points I would also add these points, which have also endangered us, about Obama's failure to combat terrorist financing:

http://moneyjihad.wordpress.com/2012/11/05/obamas-10-biggest-terror-finance-blunders/

This Canadian is rooting for Romney/Ryan. The United States - and the world - can't afford another four years of Barry's misrule, in more ways than one.

Some, unfortunately, see Barack Obama for the color of his skin; others see him for his political party affiliation.

He should be seen only for the enemy of freedom that he is.

Time to clean house, folks. Get out and vote.

Couldn't agree more. Obama may have his merits in other matters but as for global jihad, the greatest danger the civilised world is facing, he utterly failed.

Non-Muslims are always blamed for the havoc that Muslims cause, that's the special problem. But Obama isn't the only one who does it. The Europeans, especially the EU, keep him company.

Great list! I for one leapt out of bed at 6:15 this morning and my first thought was, "Are the polls open yet?"
(My second and third thoughts were, "Hey, nice sunrise. I wonder if the coffee is ready?")

I cannot wait to go cast my ballot.

The strongest demographic on behalf of the right or conservative movement are those over the age of 50.

THUS IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!!!

'Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me'...

I'm voting for Roseanne Barr and Cindy Sheehan...ha ha, just kidding...I'm voting for the other guy...

We will be a Caliphate under sharia law, like it or not...The only question is, will it come about by consent or conquest...Four more years of the man who wears a wedding ring with Allah's name on it pressed against the his skin, will determine that...
A vote for Obama is a vote for Allah...

God bless you dumbledoresarmy.

Reading the polls and watching the American TV networks available in Denmark I wouldn't be surprised if the first American Rapper-President wins the race.
If so, I will see in it the confirmation of my feeling that America needs to be administered another four years of evil by America Hating President and his Gang before it wakes up to the fact that it is on her way to become just another Land of the Un-free and the Home of the Craven.
The question is if the realization will ignite her anger prompting her to deal harshly with the traitors, or she will passively accept the demise.

If the latter then America will be betrayed twice: once by her ruling class and second time by her own children.

More people should have seen the film documentary OBAMA'S AMERICA 2016 which is now out in disc which exposes only the Marxism of Obama but also his pro-Islamic and anti-Israel ways. Likewise more people need to have read the short booklet by Frank Gaffney entitled THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION which exposes the close ties of the Obama administration with this radical Islamic group. This group would like to, if they can, impose the unAmerican Sharia lwa system on this country. Furthermore, they would also like to, if they are able, change US foreign policy to an very strong anti- State of Israel position.
One this is for sure. This country needs a new a better head of State starting today.

"I don't know if these points were in priority order, but I'd agree with putting Obama's support for the Arab Spring near or at the top."

I agree; but I don't agree with putting Obama's failure to support the "Persian Spring" on the list.

Vote Barack Obama and get the cult of Islam No sana American should vote for another four years of Barack Obama

8 more reasons why I firmly believe that obama is a muslim incognito ...

*NOBAMA 2012*

There was absolutely no warm embrace of the "Arab spring" uprisings the US likes it's dictators in the Arab world. These dictators hide anti American and anti Western sentiment in the Islamic world.Better to have ones enemies in the open.Saudi Arabia is US backed dictatorial regime that is the worst spreaders of Jihad terror and funding da'wah in the world. It would be a blessing to see it crumble but the oil is still of strategic value so the US is unlikely to change its pro Saudi position.

While I share your concerns about Obama, Romney is not a credible alternative. Between the two? Obama by a wide margin.

Just check out the international press. The world does not want to handle another Bush.

Just keep pushing forward until the world recognizes Islam for what it is: a divine mandate to harm and mistreat non-muslims.

But do keep other religions in check too. Keep religion out of politics, stop trying to push out of touch, religious-based, ignorant and superstitious points of view into everyone's lives (believers and non-believers alike), and we'll all get along just fine.

The US could also not stop the uprisings. Its position was,as it always has been,to support the dictator as long as possible then if this fails to maintain as much of the old regime as possible.Egypt is not seen as vital though,Saudi Arabia is the spider in the web of US ME policy. If it misbehaves Israel will be send in like in the Suez crises or six day war.

Fundamentally we're unsafe today due to several reasons, including:

- Our inability to focus on Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as our true enemies. Most Jihad attacks on us have some Pakistani connection and Saudi Arabia spends billions of dollars promoting groups that hate us and want to kill us.

- Our inability to have a coherent energy independence strategy - we've known about this problem for years and yet, we have done nothing about it.

- Our inability to deal with Chinese manufacturing strength and financial strength - we've allowed China to catch up in key areas of technology through theft and outsourced key areas of manufacturing (which we no longer have in our country)

- Our own political correctness and inability to deal with data about Muslims. Thus we have people who would rather vote for Syed Taj than for Allen West.

- Inappropriate wars and meddling - much of the meddling and "support" we've given the Arab Spring is wrong headed. It will bounce back on us and in ways we will not like. We've gone from governments that we could control to governments Al Qaeda can control.

"We got shellacked." encouraging quote from obama 2010

~GO VOTE!

Just check out the international press. The world does not want to handle another Bush.

Is there some reason we should care what the 'world wants'?...Who told you what the 'world wants'? I vote the way I want, and do not take what the world wants into consideration when I do it...

A very good reply, swami.

And I say it as a non-American, which means I have as much a right to express the opinion of "the world" as carlos.madeira.

"The world does not want to handle another Bush."

Another Bush? Oh for the love of Pete Romney is NOT Bush! ...not even close. This *talking point* isn't true, and it only works on fearful and weak-minded individuals who don't know any better. Just stick to the facts, Jack.

Willful ignorance regarding those who have openly declared war against us is criminal negligence.

Election 2016 Breaking News:

Government spokesperson: “Well, after 20 years and $354 Trillion, the government finally announced today it was disbanding the Department of Homeland Security.”

But wait! shrieked an apparently panic-stricken, planted crank: Have you stopped the Threat Against America™ yet?!

“No,” said the government spokespuppet, “But we’ve finally been able to identify that threat: Muslims.”

What? You can’t say that! All indoctrinating cultures are exactly the same, so if you want to take away all the rights of the criminals who have threatened to destroy us, you’ll just have to take away all the innocent people’s rights, too! That’s just how it works; fair is fair!

“Well, we tried padding our nests by joining islam in criminally-negligent Submisison to extortion, as you insisted, and it did indeed fool most of you for a while – but now you’re broke and can’t pay us to oppress you anymore. So after we burn the last of you in the FEMA camps, we’ll have to relocate our travelling pig & pony show back to China, where we’ll retire to our Kommintern rewards. Now that your silly “Freedom!” and “individual rights” threat to us is over, we can go back to eliminating the less intelligent people in Africa and the Middle East; besides, while they won’t fall for our idolatrous “group rights” scenarios as easily as you did, they DO still make much better slaves.”

;-)

Yeah, damn good point you made, duh_swami. The world, treated in the aggregate, is pathetic and so why defer to the world, including the extra pathetic international press, for any reason?

And this specifically to carlos.m.madeira: Your crappy statement about "hateful Christians" suffers greatly from that enormous error known as moral equivalency thinking. Wise up.

LL: first of all there is no such a race as persians. We were Persians 2600 years ago. Anyone who tells you he/she is Persian stay the hell away from. They are duplicitous. And you are right about Obama not getting involved with the Green revolution.

I just hope everyone goes out to vote …

At least Americans are allowed to do that .. and no one has a gun at their heads while, voting …

that, if an election is allowed like it happens in other countries … like Syria … humanity in lost over their..

some say … a million people have been murdered … for nothing … the next government is not going to be better … they are going to be as ruthless as the ones who will leave .

I just like to express my appreciation for this amazing county I was lucky enough to have emigrated to … people all over the world could say anything they want about America… but there is nothing like it in the world .

I have voted 8 o'clock in the morning and I got my striker '' I voted early ''

That gives me happiness … I am so proud to have the privilege to be part such democracy and dignity .

Your post is inspiring, fineliving56, and, yes, America is like no other polity in world history. Sadly, many still don't realize this. And there are those who do but want the end of America as we know it. The former are "merely" ignorant. The latter are decidedly malevolent.

Having voted this morning for the two R's, I thank you for the moral support, neighbor. BTW, there are times when your Mr. Harper has made me proud to be a North American.

Here's to the day when we can once again cross line forty-nine to the following litany:

Customs officer: American or Canadian?

Traveller: (answers one or the other)

Customs officer: Keep it moving.

No offense, DDA.

carlos's post puts me in mind of the phrase "you're all over the map".

Sure, there's hypothetical wisdom in letting a wound fester until it gets so bad it screams for the treatment it should have gotten years before; but that is not an absolute, and besides, in the context of the problem of metastasizing Muslims, it's as dangerous as playing with colored wires in an explosive device when you don't know which color denotes detonation and which denotes defusion.

And God bless you, classicus.

Dumbledor,

Though I am no longer a believer, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your profound outpouring of support for my country.

As my mom always says: "From your lips to God's ears."

We need all the help we can get now more than ever.

Thank you.

Although a God-bless-King-Billy (William of Orange, bTW) Presbyterian,I am grateful for your Anglican prayers for our country.

Right now, as it stands, Mitt Romney is leading with 17,213,837 of the popular vote, and 153 electoral college votes (50%), and Obama with 16,556,129 of the popular vote, and 123 electoral college votes (48%).

I'm not going to make any predictions yet—the polls haven't closed yet in bluer-than-blue states like California, and "battleground state" Ohio seems to be slightly leaning toward Obama.

It's *going to be close*.

Still, the map right now is a sea of red states, and things look much more promising at this point than I had feared.

Well, horrors! I guess we better re-elect Obama then! sarc/off

Certainly, this is one member of the "international community" who's down with Obama:

"Sudanese jihad leader linked to bin Laden backs Obama, 'of course'"

Why should I care who 'the world' wants as our president? "The world' in general tends to despise America yet depends on us for so much. Personally, I'm effing fed up with what 'the world', especially as it is represented in the corrupt, vile, perfidious U.N., thinks or wants. I harbor no ill will toward any other nation or people but 'the world' needs to mind its own business and tend to its own problems and let us do the same.

Romney is not even remotely similar to Bush but even if he was, he is immensely preferable to the Marxist Manchurian Candidate who hates America and cares more about Middle Eastern muslims than Americans. Yeah, I can understand why 'the world' wants four more years of Obama; his agenda is identical to theirs.

FOXNews just called the election for Obama.

Four more years of Jihad appeasement.

I just hope Obama doesn't become even worse, now that he doesn't have to appeal to voters for re-election...

Well great it looks like we're getting four more years of obama afterall ...

We will survive and fight on gravenimage. Am I unhappy with the election results? Of course I am. But I'm not dead yet. Nor are those understand the stakes.

Tomorrow, when I feel better (a good night's sleep sometimes helps) I will begin my letter witting campaign to have Obama censured by the House for his malfeasance in the Benghazi affair. Is censure enough? Hardly. But even if we have to start from nothing again, we must start again.

Oh brother! ...now obama wants to appear friendly and willing to work with Romney. In his speech tonight he said that he wants to meet with Romney to get his ideas on how to move this country forward--and then everyone obediently cheered.

But obama ran his whole campaign on putting Romney down; making him out to be a liar and a sleezy businessman with Bain Capital, etc; yet now he wants to meet with Romney on major decisions about our country? That's huge! His statement proves that obama considers Romney truly honest and trustworthy after all ...

Something obama will never be, that's for sure. Once again obama has demonstrated what a lowdown liar HE is.

Champ wrote:

.............................

Actually, Champ, I really doubt this. After ugly phrases like "Voting [for me] is the best revenge", he just decided he should throw a bone to the almost half the country who did vote for Romney.

If Obama meets with him at all I will be rather surprised—and if he does, it will just be pro forma.

I don't believe he would *ever* ask any conservative's opinion on any serious policy matter.

Champ, I hope you're doing well—despite the disappointing election results...

Classicus wrote:

Of course, Classicus. This changes nothing—except by possibly making the fight against Jihad even more important, with an enabler (or worse) remaining in the White House.

I've had a good night's sleep—as you suggested—and a good strong, hot cup of coffee, and now it's once more into the breech...

Thanks for your response. I always like to see your posts.

Thank you for writing, Gravenimage ...

And I thought of you last night; since we both live in California, and I was wondering what went through your mind the moment obama was pronounced the "winner".

Great obama won, but America lost ..that's what went through my mind.

''Great obama won, but America lost ..that's what went through my mind.''

Yup. And not only America, but all decent, sensible, responsible people everywhere.

Well. A defeat doesn't mean capitulation. As graven said, once more into the breach.

And **NSE**.

Champ wrote:

...........................

Actually, I hadn't realized you also live in sunny California, Champ. Of course, it's a rather dark day today, and not just because it is overcast and raining...

You must have the same frustrations I do, knowing that our votes in bluer-than-blue California didn't really count.

I have to admit, the outcome didn't surprise me all that much, because I had been following the polls. That doesn't means I wasn't disappointed, though—and I was briefly heartened when I saw Romney leading in early returns...

From everything I've heard, for most Americans, the Jihad threat didn't even cross their minds when they were voting. Talk about denial!

And I agree with Jan that four more years of such a serious enabler of Jihad isn't just bad for America, but for all freedom-minded people around the world.

Well, we just have to apply ourselves more now than ever...

Hi Gravenimage ...

I seem to recall that you live in Northern Cal, while I'm down in Southern Cal; and this light rain has been a welcome change to the hot, dry temps we suffered through last week.

Tuesday was a total rolled coaster for me and my husband. He couldn't even work that day since his focus was on the election. Some reports raised our hopes that Romney would win, while other reports brought them down. And then of course when Ohio went to obama the roller coaster ride ended, and reality set in. And yes, I share in your disappointment, but also in your decision to work harder than ever now.

Take care, my friend :)

So right, Jan; and what's done is done with an obama win, but that doesn't mean that we are DONE with this fight, right? Oh four more years. Gosh that seems like forever at this point ...
