Syria: Last Christian in Homs killed

(ANSAmed) - Vatican City - The last Christian who was in the centre of Homs was killed, after the civilian population was evacuated due to widespread fighting.
According to the Vatican's Fides news agency, 84-year-old Elias Mansour, a Greek-Orthodox Christian did not want to leave his home on Wadi Sayeh street - even though he knew his life was in danger - because he had to take care of his handicapped son, Adnane.

The Wadi Sayeh area, inhabited by both Christians and Sunni Muslims, is still at the centre of clashes between the army and rebel troops. The rebels have barricaded themselves in the areas of Khalidiyeh, Bab Houd, Bustan diwan, Hamidiyeh and the streets of Wadi Sayeh and Ouret al shayyah, surrounded by regular army forces. A Greek-Orthodox priest told Fides that Elias Mansour was killed yesterday. In the days preceding his murder, Mansour reportedly said that nothing would induce him to leave his home, adding that, if he met the rebels, "He would remind them about the Ten Commandments and the Holy Scriptures." The funeral will be celebrated today in an Orthodox church. Meanwhile, an Orthodox priest is trying to track down his disabled son, his fate remains unknown. According to Fides, the convent of the Jesuits in the Hamidiyeh area was also hit during ongoing fighting. The structure has undergone minor damage but no victims have been reported. The Jesuits and the displaced people who are sheltering within said that they have experienced moments of fear, but are unharmed. (ANSAmed).

Up until a few months ago, the Muslim Brotherhood (one of the key players in Syria's anti-Assad opposition) was an Islamic equivalent to the Ku Klux Klan. Then, in her brassy-sounding attempt to sound high-minded, our wise SecState Hillary Rodham Clinton and "most brilliant president ever (perhaps on the order of the late Mrs. Ceaucescu)" Barack Obama declare that it's really a "moderate" outfit.

With the Arab Spring, the American people are being played for a nation of sheep by the selfsame administration that resisted that temptation when Iran had its election riots (one of the good things the O's administration did: I can't see the MEK as a friend). Yet this support we're now giving the rebels is enabling one of the most oppressive, shamelessly supremacist, and violence-glorifying ideologies on the planet.

In the even of a Sunni-Shi'ite war in the Middle East (of which the Syrian fracas seems to be a harbinger), I'm hanging out a "Hell no, we won't go" banner. We've been manouvering ourselves into devil's bargains in our foreign policy and diplomacy way too long.

I suppose we could hope that his Obamatude, the one, and his real deputy, not the buffoonish Joseph Biden, but Hillary Clinton, have made some elaborate version of taqiyya all their own - as if they are trying to destroy the smaller Shia sect first by using the Sunnis as proxies. Maybe it's the "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" game; but I doubt it very much. We would be foolish to believe that in any case.

When Hillary Clinton told the grieving Charles Woods, whose son was killed in Libya, that, "We are going to have that person [Nakoula B. Nakoula aka Sam Bacile] arrested and prosecuted," her loyalties were clear. She could have told him, "We are going to track down the people who killed your son and make them pay," (the ambiguity of that statement notwithstanding) but no, she blamed Nakoula instead; and indeed, Nakoula has been arrested for ridiculing Islam by exercising his right to artistic expression.

Nakoula's arrest was not a matter of the private censure of free speech, which any private employer may do, but the use of the government's power to suppress speech it does not like. Nakoukla is being punished before being convicted of anything.

It seems to me a clear case in which the government trashed the First Amendment.

Even if Romney wins on Tuesday, his team ought consider getting behind a push to impeach Secretary Clinton in the House and trying her in the Senate. I don't know which is worse, Obama's incompetence and lies, or the Secretary's idiocy. The violation of the freedom of speech is probably the more serious problem, but will Americans believe it?

Meanwhile, Muslims are killing Christians around the world and Mrs. Clinton and her ilk say nothing. Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines... and so on.

Dear Jihad Watch readers:

I can only imagine what has happened to the slain Christian's disabled adult son. Sadly, I don't think the disabled man is going to be found alive.

So, the Islamadoodles have brought about the extinction of Christianity in this region of Syria. Yet, the Western media does everything possible to portray this monstrous belief system as victimized, downtrodden and deserving of all the world's resources.

Here is hoping for the day when Islam is extinct. It is possible. Keep in mind the Passenger Pigeon- once the most populous bird in the world whose flocks would blacken the sky when the birds passed over head. They existed in the billions.

By 1914 the population went from one individual to ZERO. Soooo... Just because there are 1.5 billion muslims in the world today doesn't mean the future will hold huge numbers of muslims.

If we are lucky they will convert to Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc, etc. One can hope.

The reality of this is that our Lord and Messiah is now looking upon the face of Elias Mansour and Elias not only in in peace but is with God of the universe and has arrived at his final destination. May all of us have the courage of Elias Mansour and fight the good fight to the end.
