Weapons smuggling bonanza: Israel eases Gaza border restrictions after Hamas truce deal

The Israeli authorities will rue the day. "Israel eases Gaza border restrictions after Hamas truce deal," from the Associated Press, November 24:

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Gaza residents said Saturday that Israel has eased some border restrictions as part of its truce with the Palestinian territory's Hamas rulers, allowing farmers to visit land near its security fence and letting fishermen head further out to sea.
The Egyptian-brokered cease-fire ended eight days of cross-border fighting that claimed 166 Palestinian and six Israeli lives, according to health officials.

As part of the deal, Israel and Hamas are now to negotiate a further easing of the Gaza border blockade, first imposed by Israel and Egypt after the Hamas takeover of Gaza in 2007....

The truce is to lead to a new border deal for Gaza, with Egypt hosting indirect talks between Israel and Hamas. Israel has shunned Hamas as a terrorist group and refuses to negotiate with it directly.

Israeli demands that Hamas halt weapons smuggling into Gaza, while Hamas seeks free movement for people and goods in and out of Gaza.

After the Hamas takeover in 2007, Israel and then-Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak sealed Gaza to isolate the Islamic militants and make it harder for them to govern.

The restrictions have since been eased because of international pressure on Israel and because of regime change in Egypt. Both Hamas and Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, elected earlier this year, are members of the region-wide Muslim Brotherhood movement.

Before the Nov. 14 start of the fighting, Gaza received most of its consumer goods through an Israeli cargo crossing, while Israel banned virtually all exports and travel from Gaza, preventing the area's battered economy from bouncing back.

Items restricted by Israel, such as construction materials, were brought into Gaza through smuggling tunnels from Egypt, along with weapons for Hamas....

No mater how disingenous Hama is in its Taqiyya it will never ever succeed in its aganda to destory the State of Israel. The reason for this,even though they may not know it, is that they are striving against the Will of God. Thus they are fated to lose and lose hard. For this area of Land in the Middle East belongs to the Jewish people by Divine Right. For example, the Bible teachs thus in Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135:4. This Land also belongs to the Jewish people by the rights of history. As in First Kings 4:20,21 24,25. 8:55,56. So the member s of Hamas are wrong, in error and in darkness, Isaiah 8:20, Second Timothy 3:16.
Nevertheless, in all fairness, there is one one way for Hamas members to convince God to change His Mind and turn His Back of Israel and have that nation be no more. That way is to change to laws of astropysics, incluning that of the sun, the moon and the stars. For God has decleared in Jeremiah 31;35,36. "Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day and the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night...The Lord of host is His name. If those ordinances depart from before me ,saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever." [KJV]

As soon as heard that the "ceasefire" included the end of the Israeli blockade of Gaza, I realized that Muslims would be smuggling in more and more weapons to use against Israel.

Even with the blockade, Hamas was able to smuggle in the rockets they launched at Israel—likely from newly Islamist Egypt.

This will not enable Hamas to smuggle in more weaponry, but will give pious Muslims closer access to Israel proper, to target for Jihad terror attacks.

"Cross-border fighting"—no indication that Hamas started the conflict by firing rockets into Israel.

And what has Hamas done to warrant Israel's easing of the blockade? Why, just attacked Israel, that's all...in other words, they've proven all over again what a *terrible* idea this is.

The idea that Egypt represents some sort of neutral third party could not be more grotesque—the Hamas is a Muslim Brotherhood creation. To note that Israel is getting the short end of the stick here is an understatement.

"Govern"—good God. Israel has always been concerned about Gaza's being used as a launching pad for Jihad against her, ever since she was foolish enough to pull out of Gaza in 2005.

And that is just what has happened, with Gaza sending missiles into Israel on a regular basis. How much worse will it be now, with an openly Islamist regime in Egypt, and lessened control of the borders by Israel herself?

What crap. Gaza's economy has never "bounced back" because all Hamas cares about is attacking Israel. The implication that they are trying to build some sort of reasonable society there is ridiculous.

On one hand, we don’t know what kind of pressure was brought to bear on Netanyahu by Obama and Clinton. It may be that Obama threatened to stop supplying Israel with military materiel for its air force and other weaponry if it continued wiping out Hamas.

On the other hand, there is such a thing as assisted suicide, and Israel's loosening of restrictions on Gaza can only lead to the rearming of Hamas so it can continue its assault on Israel and fulfill the obligations of its charter. Can you imagine the Allies organizing convoys of food and construction materials into Germany with the cooperation of the Nazi government?

Unless Netanyahu is playing a game with Obama, Clinton and Morsi, and has other plans to deal with Hamas and Iran, he's turned out to be a paper tiger. There's no such thing as petting a cobra, and Israel is going to be bitten again.
