"Australian Islamic Peace Conference" invites Saudi cleric who called for violent jihad and annihilation of Jews

It's a "Peace" conference, but that word doesn't mean the same thing to its organizers that it does to Westerners. Here is one of al-Sudais's sermons, from MEMRI:

IT'S billed as the ''largest, the biggest and the best-ever Islamic event in the history of Australia'' - a three-day festival for an expected 20,000 Muslims - and it will be held in Melbourne in March.
But the chief attraction is a Saudi imam who has called for violent jihad.

The description above comes from the Australian Islamic Peace Conference Facebook page. It is an extraordinary coup for organiser Waseem Razvi to entice Dr Abdul Rahman al-Sudais who, as the man in charge of Islam's two holiest mosques in Mecca and Medina, could be considered the world's foremost imam.

He will be one of many international speakers at the conference - endorsed by the Islamic Council of Victoria, Preston Mosque and leading Muslim groups - in the lead-up to which 1000 local volunteers are being trained to carry out ''dawah'' or proselytism for Islam.

But Dr Mark Durie, an Anglican priest, believes Dr al-Sudais should be refused a visa because he has called for the annihilation of the Jews, whom he called the ''scum of humanity'', ''rats of the world'', ''prophet killers'' and ''pigs and monkeys''.

Dr Durie, who was an expert witness on the Christian side in the Islamic Council of Victoria case against Catch the Fire Ministries, said that Dr al-Sudais was famous in the Muslim world for his recitations, ''the Pavarotti of the Koran''.

''But he's not a figure of conciliation and unity, that's for sure. I'm concerned promoting him in Australia will create a channel of influence for his ideas on Jews and jihad.''

Mr Razvi was surprised on Tuesday to hear of the allegations against Dr al-Sudais.

''But he's just one speaker, and all he will do is recitation [of the Koran]. For us the public speakers have to be in English. And his final confirmation has not yet come.''

Mr Razvi, 32 and founder of the Islamic Research and Education Academy, said he had three goals in staging the festival. The first was to unite Islamic organisations on one platform, because it would encourage the next generation of Muslims to see the leaders and scholars working together.

The second goal was to build bridges between the Muslim community and mainstream Australia. Unlike traditional Islamic conferences, it had a strong multifaith element, including invitations to Melbourne's Anglican and Catholic archbishops and Protestant, Buddhist and Hindu leaders to speak. ''This way the Muslim community gets to hear the other side, and if there is any isolation of either side this can break the ice,'' he said.

The third goal was to build bridges to secular authorities, with invitations to federal and state leaders, police, the lord mayor and others....

Those "bridges" only ever go one way.

I got it at a Daisy Khan yard sale for three dollars, you can tell it's an Allah bridge because his name is stamped on it...I would sell it for five...Discarded Allah bridges are plentiful, so they are not worth much, even if it was previously owned by Daisy...The Pawn Stars guys wouldn't touch it...

Seriously though, that sermon is worthy of study to determine the long term effects of inner spiritual struggle jihad...Do I detect a little dementia praecox? Involutional melancholia? Chronic brain syndrome? Does this mean that too much inner struggle leads to insanity in later life? Maybe inner struggle spiritual jihad is not all that good after all...

Of course, what pious Muslims are here using is Jewish *self criticism*—the story of Jews in the wilderness slipping back into idol worship, or phenomenon like that noted in the New Testament, "Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country".

This was meant to indicate the weakness and blind spots of humanity in general—but Muslims, who have *no* tradition or even understanding of self criticism, just consider these traits of the Jews as weakness and worse—as admissions of evil.

Certainly, few Muslims—and no pious ones—would ever admit to weakness, especially in any sort of public forum.

The worst thing is that Westerners are already all too familiar with the concept of the ugliest figures being invited to speak at "Peace Conferences"—hard core Communists, members of the violent Black Panthers—the idea of violent Jihadists is just a small twist on a now decades-old phenomenon here.

And this certainly isn't the first time Jihadists have been included in the fold, either—this dates back at least to the days of Yassir Arafat.

P.S.: Your translation is slightly incorrect: the German Der Islam does not need to be translated as "The Islam" -- in fact, in English, we don't use articles like that to denote entities (unless we've been hit in the head too many times, like Senator McCain): i.e., we don't say "The Christianity" or "The Hinduism" or "The Islam" etc.

This - besides Geert Wilders' visit in February - could be a good project for the Q Society.

I'm glad that Mark Durie is on the ball, and getting quoted in The Age.

We Aussie jihadwatchers can take a two-pronged approach.

First, we can back up Mark Durie when he calls upon the Government to deny entry to Al-Sudais the genocidal Jew-hater.

I would suggest that every Aussie jihadwatcher reading or posting here, write to our respective Federal MPs, as well as to the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, and to the Foreign Minister and the Immigration Minister, and their Shadows on the opposition bench, demanding that Al-Sudais be denied entry on the grounds of his venomous, virulent and hysterical Nazi-like Jew-hatred and incitement to jihad. Remind our politicians of what Mohammed Merah did to little Miriam Monsonego and ask them point blank: do they want to run the risk of something like that, as a result of Al-Sudais' vile incitement, happening at some little Jewish school **in Melbourne**?

(Aside to non-Aussie jihadwatchers: Melbourne is home to Australia's biggest Jewish community, with synagogues, schools, and yeshivas).

Second, whether or not we succeed in getting Al-Sudais denied entry, we can do our level best to throw a spanner in the da'wa works.

We've got two full months to prepare.

I would encourage every Aussie here who hasn't already done so, to read Mark Durie's three books: 'Revelation?', 'The Third Choice' and (just published) 'Liberty to the Captives' (which is, in part, a discussion of ways of freeing people from 'battered dhimmi syndrome').

Also contact The Barnabas Fund and ask for copies of the following pamphlets - 'What is Islam?', 'Islam and Truth', 'Islam and Slavery', 'What is Shari'a' and their latest (very handy for countering the sort of interfaith nonsense that will be peddled at top speed during this upcoming 'peace' conference) "Is the Muslim Isa the Biblical Jesus'? Some of these pamphlets are I think currently out of print; they desperately need to be *reprinted*, let's ask for that.

Get such pamphlets by the sackful; send one to every parish church in Melbourne, if at all possible. Each one costs only one Australian dollar. I think such a distribution would be doable.

The Sharia' pamphlet, if it can be got, and the one on 'Islam and Truth', should also be sent to every *synagogue*.

Some federal parliamentarians who need to be given a heads-up about Al-Sudais and his record of virulent classically-Islamic Jew-hatred and murderous incitement against Jews.

First, our three Jewish Federal MPs.

Michael Danby, Mark Dreyfus, and Josh Frydenberg (the first two are Labor, the third is LNP, that is, from the Conservative side of Aussie politics).

Then, MP Mike Kelly (Monaro) who has a Jewish wife and two sons who would be counted as Jewish according to Halakha.

Remind these people that *they* - or in Mike's case, his wife and sons - have got targets painted on their shirts.

Then, there are a number of others who have some glimmering of a clue.

MP Ken Wyatt, our first Aboriginal member of the House of Representatives, who supports a group called Friends of Israel Western Australia.'

MP Tony Smith (seat of Casey) who on 29 November stood up in the House of Reps and gave a scorcher of a speech about Hamas...he even cited the genocidally Jew-hating Hadith from Bukhari, and informed our MPs that it features in the Hamas Charter.

MP Luke Simpkins, who a couple of years ago gave a speech in Parliament about the Apostasy Law of Islam; he didn't mince words, he explained exactly what it was and he roundly condemned it.

And in the Senate, there are Cory Bernardi and Brett Mason.

And there are some others, MPs and Senators who have turned up at pro-Israel rallies.

Inform these people about Al-Sudais. Refer them to his various hate sermons on MEMRI so they can see him in action for themselves.

Ask them to kick up a stink and *demand* that he be denied entry...on the grounds that he represents a major security risk to members of Australia's Jewish community.

We've got two months.

My fellow Aussie jihadwatchers, Jew and Gentile - and especially everyone in and around Melbourne: let's see what we can do.

Let's make some NOISE.
