Well, Mahmoud Khalil is certainly mixing his metaphors here. First, he wants to describe Americans as brutal and oppressive, next he wants to describe them as sacrificial victims.

In reality, pious Muslims only regard us as "oppressive" because we—sporadically, anyway—fight back against Jihad. And weak victims is, of course, how they'd *like* to regard us.
