Hatred and Violence in the Qur'an Awareness Month: "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks"

Today is Beheading Day in Hatred and Violence in the Qur'an Awareness Month:

[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip." (Qur'an 8:12)

Plus:

So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. (Qur'an 47:4)

These passages are the chief justifications for the Islamic practice of beheading hostages and war captives. At the beheading of American hostage Nicholas Berg in May 2004, for example, the late Iraqi jihad leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi invoked the Battle of Badr, a discussion of which is the Qur'anic context of 8:12. "Is it not time for you," al-Zarqawi asked Muslims, "to take the path of jihad and carry the sword of the Prophet of prophets?…The Prophet, the most merciful, ordered [his army] to strike the necks of some prisoners in [the battle of] Badr and to kill them….And he set a good example for us."

One that many still follow.

I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved...

For some reason Allah had an overwhelming desire to confess his sins and identified himself as a terrorist...They left off the 'Holy Father forgive me for I have sinned' part, for obvious reasons...Allah begging himself for forgiveness, just doesn't sound right...'He not only confesses his terrorist sins, he brags about them in his book...He sounds proud of himself for destroying villages at night and terrorizing the country side smitting necks, and finger tips...Around her we have Sheriff Deputies who deal with any god's who may try that...

From a review of ex-Muslim Ibn Warraq's seminal work - Why I Am Not a Muslim:

"Perhaps the most important thing demonstrated by Ibn Warraq is that Islam is fundamentalist by nature, and not by some peculiar and aberrant recent development. All Muslims, not just the fanatics, believe that every word of the Quran is quite literally the word of God, absolutely and unquestionably true for all times, places, and people, and practically the same goes for the hadith and the sharia. Anyone who wishes to argue that the fanatics' interpretation of these elements is wrong and that a far more liberal interpretation can be made and that that is the real Islam, have really only their own tastes and inclinations to support them.

Another important achievement of Ibn Warraq is that he explodes the myth of Islamic tolerance. Islam was never a religion of tolerance and it is not tolerant by nature. Despite the way the apologists would like to depict it, Islam was spread by the sword and has been maintained by the sword throughout its history. In truth it was the Arab empire that was spread by the sword and it is as an Arab empire that Islam is maintained to this day in the form of a religion largely invented to hold that empire together and subdue native populations. An unmitigated cultural disaster parading as God's will. Religious minorities were always second-class citizens in this empire and were only tolerated on sufferance and in abject deference to their Arab/Muslim masters; for polytheists and unbelievers there was no tolerance at all, it was conversion or death.

These repulsive characteristics are written into the Quran, the hadith and the sharia, and are an ineradicable feature of the religion. There is no way that Islam can reform itself and remain Islam, no way it can ever be made compatible with pluralism, free speech, critical thought and democracy. Anyone convinced they already possess the truth have no need for such things. Although Muslims resident in non-Muslim countries clamour for every kind of indulgence for their own beliefs and customs, there can be no doubt that given any kind of power they would impose their own beliefs and eliminate all difference. In short, as Ibn Warraq describes it in his Dedication, Islam is religious fascism, and it is only a feeble-minded political correctness that prevents it from being recognised as such."

Which reminds of this episode: "Tabari VIII:38 "The Messenger of Allah commanded that all of the Jewish men and boys who had reached puberty should be beheaded. Then the Prophet divided the wealth, wives, and children of the Banu Qurayza Jews among the Muslims."

Allah inflicts terror. Terror is part of Jihad. Allahu Akbar! is the cry of fear, Muhammad instructed his men to shout this to instill fear in the hearts of their enemies.
Bukhari Sahih Hadith 5.456 "Muhammad led the Fear/ Terror Prayer [Allahu Akbar] with one batch of his army while the other (batch) faced the enemy." Bukhari Sahih Hadith 5.516
"When Allah's Apostle fought or raided people we raised our voices saying, 'Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'"

59:2 "He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah! But Allah reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts so that they demolished their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers."

Terror is a doctrine of Islam. It is a consequence of the Qur'anic doctrine of al wala wal barra, loyalty and enmity, aka love & hate for Allah's sake--loyalty only to Muslims, hate and enmity to disbelievers.

Bukhari:V4B52N220 "Allah's Apostle said, 'I have been made victorious with terror.'

8:60 "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war and all forms of weapons to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows."

66:9. "O Prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them; their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.)--Tasfir ibn kathir "Allah the Exalted orders His Messenger to perform Jihad against the disbelievers and hypocrites, the former with weapons and armaments and the later by establishing Allah's legislated penal code,."

48:28. "He it is Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it superior to all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allah as a Witness.)--Tasfir ibn Kathir "Allah the Exalted and Most Honored said, while delivering the glad tidings to the believers that the Messenger will triumph over his enemies and the rest of the people of the earth."

3:19 The religion before Allah is Islam (He recognizes no other)
3:85 Whosoever desires any other religion (than Islam) it will not be accepted and he will be a loser in the Hereafter.
Thus, 5:51 Jews and Christians are not to be taken as friends and protectors and if you do you are one of them since (98:1) they are the worst of all creatures (and for hate & enmity).

Qur'an:33:26 "Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before."

Bukhari:V4B52N256 "The Prophet passed by and was asked whether it was permissible to attack infidels at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, 'Their women and children are from them.'"

Qur'an:3:150 "Soon We shall strike terror into the hearts of the Infidels, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be in the Fire!"

Ishaq:395 "Muslims, if you listen to the unbelievers you will retreat from the enemy and become losers. Ask Allah for victory and do not retreat, withdrawing from His religion. 'We will terrorize those who disbelieve. In that way I will help you against them.'"

Qur'an:8:57 "If you gain mastery over them in battle, inflict such a defeat as would terrorize them, so that they would learn a lesson and be warned."

Given several of the passages in Deuteronomy re. attacking certain tribes and killing every living thing, it would seem that Islam is not unique in these sentiments. Clearly, though other religions are much more pacifistic and much more attractive to my personal feelings.

More critically, though, the Muslim world should be asked if they want to hold these verses as the key motivating vision for today's world? Will it not surely evoke a similar response back from other countries? Does the Muslim world want to take on the US with RPGs and suicide bombers if the US really wanted to unleash the full might of its power on the Muslim world? Might there be a way to stop and see if we can find other alternatives?

If we want to use the military approach we cut off for some time 1/3 of the World's oil supply?

Have we reached a strategic stalemate and need to find "out of the box approaches"?

Your dishonesty in using the ID of 'Truthseeker' is rather disgusting. Your post trying to compare the OT with the bloody koran, is NOT something that someone seeking truth would offer up, except to ask for clarification, which you did not.

There are exactly THREE types of people who come out with comments such as yours. 1) People so ignorant, that they cannot offer an opinion worthy of consideration 2) People who are, even if they were lucky enough to be born in the west, manage to hate the west and its traditions and history. Either group will be or are dhimmis. The third group, are muslims trying to establish some form of 'moral equivelancy', or know better and are merely trying to confuse the issue, taking advantage of the poor level of education in our history that afflicts most of the west.

One of the local papers carried a letter making the same bogus claim as your post, and was signed by a name with an extremely high probability of belonging to a muslim. The section misquoted from Deuteronomy by this sadly ignorant or appallingly dishonest sod, if he had actually read it or quoted it fully, made it clear that it was FOR A GIVEN TIME AND PLACE, AND NOT FOR ALL BLOODY TIME. PERIOD, FULL BLOODY STOP.
