Kuwait introduces death penalty for cursing Allah, the Qur'an or the prophets

"We do not want to execute people with opinions or thought because Islam respects these people... But we need this legislation because incidents of cursing God have increased. We need to deter them." Islam respects them, but we must kill them anyway.

This is the kind of law that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation wants to compel Western nations to adopt, with willing and eager cheerleading from anti-free speech Left fascists.

Kuwaiti MPs this week approved a law with a death penalty for Muslims who curse God, the Koran, all prophets and the wives of Islam's Prophet Mohammed. Non-Muslims who commit the same offence face a jail term of not less than 10 years, according to the bill.
Defendants who repent in court will be spared capital punishment but will get a jail sentence for five years and a fine of $36,000 or one of them, while repentance by those who repeat the crime is not acceptable, the bill says.

"We do not want to execute people with opinions or thought because Islam respects these people... But we need this legislation because incidents of cursing God have increased. We need to deter them," opposition MP Ali al-Deqbasi said during the debate.

Shiite MPs also demanded that the bill impose the death penalty on anyone who curses their sect's 12 revered Imams, but the Sunni-dominated parliament rejected their request.

The bill becomes effective after the government accepts it, the emir signs it and it is published in the official gazette within one month.

Shiite MP Abdulhameed Dashti said the bill was unconstitutional and against the principles of Islam. "Why are we trying to show Islam as a religion of death and blood when it is actually the opposite of that," he asked.

That's one to ponder!

In March authorities arrested a Shiite man for allegedly cursing the Prophet Mohammed, his wife and some companions in a tweet. The suspect, Hamad al-Naqi, is being detained pending trial later this month.
Kuwaiti courts have in the past several months jailed activists from both sects over religious offences.

Although it seems largely directed against Muslims in general and Shi'ites in particular, perhaps the Shia MPs should not be pitied: it would seem they are okay with the death penalty for cursing Allah, the Quran and the prophets.
Far more interesting is whether there'll be string of executions among them for cursing Aisha, Muhammad's (very) young favorite wife.

Really? Any of us non-Muslims who have taken a long hard look at Islamic texts and Islamic practice - present and past - can see that it *is* 'a religion of death and blood'.

Churchill saw that, 100 years ago, in The Story of the Malakand Field Force, when he summed up Islam as 'the religion of blood and war'.

And this guy, quoted in the article, is a *Shiite* - a member of that division of Islam that celebrates the blood-drenched festival of Ashura by public self-flagellation and public cutting of the flesh, including the cutting of the flesh of infants, so that blood flows everywhere. Islam *not* a religion of blood? Who does this guy think he's kidding?

Blasphemy laws killing Islam?

Any reasonably sane person of normal intelligence can see the 'religion of peace' is a war machine offering only forced conversion, oppressive submission, or death. It's goal is conquest, to have the whole world bow to its Islamic overlords, all submitting to regressive Sharia. While all other religions have moved towards liberation of the soul, none warring on others for religious reasons, only Islam has declared war on the whole world. Blasphemy laws are but one more weapon in their arsenal to subdue humanity to its onerous religious oppression. But the more they press their blasphemy laws, with death for any criticism of Islam or its prophet, the more they alienate, especially the youth. The more they push this death penalty, the more humanity will push back.

Humanity is moving towards secular liberation of body and mind, not their enslavement. Their imams and mullahs think Islam is ascendent, while in fact it is failing. In fact, in this modern era of greater liberalism, communication, and protection of our human rights, Islam is dying.

So they'll tolerate a little bit of opinion and thinking? And why would Allah most powerful need people to defend Him from mere mortals? These fools are so blinded by their faith that they will never stop until the whole world is subjugated, or they are all dead.
