New AFDI #MyJihad ads tell truth about jihad, expose Hamas-linked CAIR’s deception

This new AFDI ad campaign is Pamela Geller’s most brilliant campaign yet. (And I am proud to note that I helped choose some of the quotes and images.) It pierces through the ridiculous and condescending deception of Hamas-linked CAIR’s attempt to whitewash the concept of jihad, as epitomized by this ad:

CAIRjihadwhitewash.jpg

Pamela Geller explains the new campaign:

AFDI has created a brand new ad campaign to fight the disinformation and propaganda
campaigns of Islamic supremacists and Muslim Brotherhood groups in
America. Our new ads will counter the new deceptive #myjihad campaign
by unindicted co-conspirator Hamas-CAIR and are a truth antidote to CAIR’s
deceptions.

It is reprehensible
to put a happy face on mass murder, ethnic cleansing, honor violence,
religious persecution, etc. Look how powerful Hamas-CAIR says I am:

Local Muslim Launches Campaign To ‘Reclaim’ Meaning of ‘Jihad Chicagoist
CAIR-Chicago executive director Ahmed Rehab, who’s behind the campaign, told the Sun-Times the term “jihad”
has been twisted by groups such as Geller’s so that its true meaning is
obscured and the word is most closely associated with “holy war.” …

Really? Tell that to Osama bin Laden, Nidal Hassan, Anwar Awlaki,
Meshaal, Sheikh Qaradawi, et al, and millions of jihadists all over the
world.

Our new campaign focuses on how jihadists use the texts and
teachings of Islam to justify violence and supremacism. It uses actual quotes
by jihadis and Islamic supremacists including Osama bin Laden and Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, as well as statements from Hamas TV and one of the victims of the Fort
Hood jihad massacre. This usage of jihad is much more influential and
widespread among Muslims worldwide than the benign and whitewashed
understanding of it being pushed by Hamas-linked CAIR, and the fact that some
Muslims don’t think of jihad as involving violence does not cancel out the fact
that many do. Our AFDI campaign shines the light of truth to break through the
fog of CAIR”s deceptions.

Americans need to understand Islamic jihad that so we can counter it
effectively. Honest moderate Muslims need to stand up against this and
work for Islamic reform rather than blame my ads for pointing out the
truth.

MyJihad is a public education campaign that seeks to share the proper and true meaning of Jihad (see below). Much thanks to Big Fur Hat for execution.

All that focus about fitness on a hybrid bus.

How eco-healthy sensitive to the greater world they try to appear. They are taking cues from Madison Avenue about how to appear to be appealing, normal and just like everyone who isn’t practicing that faith.

  2. says

It’s clever, but I think it’s a tactical mistake to focus on individual Muslims. The counter argument will be “well. Breivik said he was a christian, so even christians misinterpret their scripture as well”. And it’ll be an effective counter argument as it requires a theological debate.

By focusing on the scripture itself, like the last campaign did, you skip this step entirely and go straight to the words of Islam itself, which cannot be contested. They can argue out of context or mistranslation, but that’s easily countered.

  3. says

    Orwellian DoubleSpeak:

“Doublespeak is language that deliberately disguises, distorts, or reverses the meaning of words. Doublespeak may take the form of euphemisms (e.g., “downsizing” for layoffs, “servicing the target” for bombing [1]), making the truth less unpleasant, without denying its nature. It may also be deployed as intentional ambiguity, or reversal of meaning (for example, naming a state of war “peace”). In such cases, doublespeak disguises the nature of the truth, producing a communication bypass.[2][3]

However, euphemism is not the same as doublespeak. It will not be considered as doublespeak if it is used appropriately and without the intention to deceive.”

The add fits the definition perfectly. This is taqyyah at its best!

    Amen……

  5. says

I applaud to you Pamela and Robert.
I live in Europe and every EU politician and citizen should see these, especially the Erdogan one.

This is a serious issue, but I must give a little fitness related comment to the scarf wearing chick in that CAIR ad: If you’re doing bicep curls to your ear and on top of that looking elsewhere, you’re doing something wrong…

  6. says

AFDI continues to amaze and inspire. This campaign is brilliant because it brings the truth to such a wide audience, many of whom will remember what they read on the side of that bus going up Madison when the next Islamic atrocity occurs. And I don’t agree that it’s a mistake to feature individual Muslims instead of just the koran verses. Individual muslims are the ones who commit the atrocities. The scripture does not exist in a vaccuum, and people need to be reminded that the smiling muslima in the “My Jihad” ads is wearing the hijab that marks her as an devout follower of those koranic scripture.

  7. says

    Disinformation.

-False information deliberately and often covertly spread (as by the planting of rumors) in order to influence public opinion or obscure the truth.

-Deliberately misleading information announced publicly or leaked by a government or especially by an intelligence agency in order to influence public opinion or the government in another nation

-Information that seems truthful, relevant and based on unbiased facts, but has been concocted to mislead the recipient in order to attain fraudulent monetary, military, political, or religious objectives. The information explosion has been continuously shadowed by an almost equally powerful disinformation explosion, especially on the internet.

  8. says

“God has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of God; they kill, and are killed;..” Quran 111

    That’s #MyJihad What’s yours?

  9. says

Or one could create a sarcastic tongue-in-cheek ad:

Show a pretty young Muslima in a wimple fashionably moderate enough to show off her dimples, with the caption:

“MyJihad is to stay fit and pick up the kids from daycare while finding time to help my cousin Rasheed with rides to the hardware store to pick up fertilizer for his truck bomb!”

  10. says

Muhammad said “I would love to be martyred in Al1ah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.” Sahih Bukhari 52:54

That is Muhammad’s Jihad. What’s yours?

  12. says

“Our new ads will counter the new deceptive #myjihad campaign by unindicted co-conspirator Hamas-CAIR” …

islam & company are wholly “deceptive” …and countering this deception is something we all must work at and strive to accomplish with family and friends.

    ………………………

Pamela Geller is not only brave and principled, but utterly brilliant!

I’m impressed by this new series of billboards shows the utter bs of the whitewashing CAIR “#MyJihad” campaign.

I’m also impressed with how quickly you were able to roll this out, since the CAIR campaign itself is so new.

So”members of the public will be reading the truth about Islam *at the same time* that CAIR is working its Taqiyya. Brilliant!

    More:

It is reprehensible to put a happy face on mass murder, ethnic cleansing, honor violence, religious persecution, etc.
    ………………………

Yes, it is. But it may bre too much for even the “Islam is peace” crowd to swallow that Jihad is really about taking care of your kids and staying shape…

    More:

Look how powerful Hamas-CAIR says I am:

CAIR-Chicago executive director Ahmed Rehab, who’s behind the campaign, told the Sun-Times the term “jihad” has been twisted by groups such as Geller’s so that its true meaning is obscured and the word is most closely associated with “holy war.” …
    ………………………

Ludicrous. This is how every Muslim uses the term. Of references in canonical Islamic texts, well over 95% of references to the term “Jihad” are about violent holy war.

    More:

Really? Tell that to Osama bin Laden, Nidal Hassan, Anwar Awlaki, Meshaal, Sheikh Qaradawi, et al, and millions of jihadists all over the world.
    ………………………

Well, that’s the whole problem, isn’t it? It isn’t “Islamophobes” who are waging violent Jihad, but pious Muslims. “Islamophobes” just have the temerity to point ti out…

    More:

Our new campaign focuses on how jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and supremacism. It uses actual quotes by jihadis and Islamic supremacists including Osama bin Laden and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as statements from Hamas TV and one of the victims of the Fort Hood jihad massacre. Yes. And many of those quotes from Jihdists are *themselves* quotes from the canonical texts of Islam”the Qur’an and the Hadiths.

  15. says

It’s a tough call whether the word “jihad” or the phrase “Allahu akbar” is the uglier. Reasonable minds (this, of course, would exclude Muslims and dhimmi apologists for Islam) can differ on this one.

  16. says

I have a new #jihad…Raiding caravans, grabbing the gold and a few slave girls, and make it back to the mosque in time for Bill O’Reilly…
    That’s my jihad, what’s yours?…

  17. says

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” – Barack Obama

Slay those who insult Islam.” – British Muslims in London protesting the Jylland Posten cartoons February 3, 2006.

    That’s Obama’s Jihad…and their Jihad…and it was Muhammad’s too.What’s yours?

  18. says

Part of the beauty of these ads has to do with the fact that the CAIR ads are intended to confuse low-information commuters. Ordinary people simply trying to get to and from work, etc., who don’t know about Islam, and barely think about the ads that they pass day-to-day anyway, and who will see the CAIR ads, and, without thinking about it much, internalize them. It’s kind of a brainwashing attempt on the part of CAIR. It’s very deliberate.

The AFDI ads, because they look so similar to the CAIR ads, counter that brainwashing. These too will be internalized by the casual passer-by. This is the level on which we need to be thinking. Our enemies certainly are. It’s how Obama won re-election.

“Being made victorious with terror [Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220]:

    — Muhammad: the “Ideal Man” of Islam, and supposed founder of Islam

    —-

  20. says

The issue is: whether or not to stand up for the human rights of the Jewish people. That’s what the issue is.

The issue in the 1930’s was: whether or not to stand up for the human rights of the Jewish people. There were other issues involved, but those issues were a result of the main issue — the issue of whether or not to stand up for the human rights of the Jewish people. And that issue was not rightfully addressed. Rather, in the 1930’s, the Western powers actively supported the ideologically genocidally anti-Jewish Nazi regime of Germany. Hence the Holocaust and World War II.

Now it is the same thing. The issue is: Whether or not to stand up for the human rights of the Jewish people. That’s what the issue is.

It’s about Standing Up for the Human Rights of the Jewish People

    BTW:

About the founder of the ‘Palestinian movement’, Haj Amin al-Husseini:

“…The main achievement of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, was to combine the Jew-hatred of ancient Islam with modern anti-Semitism into a new and persuasive rhetoric. I discovered a speech he gave in 1937 with the title, “Jewry and Islam.’ Here, he intermingled modern anti-Semitism [with] the stories of very early Islam, going back and forth from the 7th and the 20th centuries, and connecting both kinds of Jew-hatred. This was something new. …”

  21. says

It’s worth noting also, regarding the Erdogan quote, that some Salafis (Islamic purists) oppose minarets because they are not prescribed in the core Islamic texts.

Echoes of the Muslim idea that calling someone “Turkish’ is an insult among Muslims.

  22. says

    Brilliant!

I’m going to donate to AFDI right now via Robert’s donate button at upper right of Jihad Watch. It lets you use paypal, too, if you want…

  24. says

Definitely the best and wittiest ad campaign by you and Pamela so far.

It’s worth remembering always use images with text (rather than text alone), the more jarring (without being vulgar) the better.

Muslims supremacists are trying to brand Islam as a harmless ideology, something a part of the fabric of our culture.

The truth is that there is nothing more foreign and dangerous to the West than Islam.

These ads will go along way to exposing the ugly truth about Islam.

I hope one day AFDI can afford to put out 30-60 second PSA ads on TV which do the same thing. If a picture is worth a thousand words a video is worth a thousand pictures.

Anyways keep up the great work Robert and Pamela.

  25. says

Just because islam has been around for 1400 years does not give it legitimacy.

    islam is not legit.
It is impossible for islam to be legit.
Are we mad to call islam legit and a religion ?

islam is a case study of madness.
islam is wasting our money. The problem is islam mimics good for evil.
The problem with islam is that the more the stupid the better the muslim .
Our fundamental flaw is that we see muslims as people and islam as some kind of religion. We have to start seeing ourselves thru their murdering eyes. That image of us is with them all the time. All the time. In the end islam will actually achive nothing nothing nothing. Islam is useless !! Crocodile tears are the way forward.
Our global demise is written in arabic. Islam is a Monkey making virusss…They’re still monkeys and can never be anything else. A monkey looking virus is upon the earth. This virus talks….what should we do ? if small pox could talk would we still have eradicated it ? i’m sure we would have….100%.
Crocodile tears are also meaningful action when confronted with a clear and present danger for all our global non-muslim kids.

This is for internal Iranian consumption and the iranians give a s…less. That said, I do not know Hagel’s position on Israel However he 100% correct about the war in Iraq. It is the worst thing that has happened to our country and we should have never been there. As far as attacking Iran, I agree with that to a certain point, that is if they engage up say in the persian gulf we should take their navy right out. But sending troops would be utterly suicidal.
