Pakistani Taliban make ceasefire offer to Pakistani Government: Adopt Sharia and go to war with India

"It also said that any religious scholar will confirm that the defence of dignity, self-respect, life, property and faith was the right of every Muslim and fighting for this right is called Jihad, according to the report." Jihad? The Taliban, a brutal and bloody force for oppression, call what they are doing "jihad"? But...but...I thought "jihad" was just getting in your exercise and taking the kids to school. Surely Hamas-linked CAIR's Ahmed Rehab is jetting over to Pakistan as we speak, so as to disabuse Ehsanullah Ehsan and other Taliban members of their misunderstandings of jihad.

"Taliban wants Sharia in Pakistan, war with India," from NitiCentral, December 27:

The Pakistani Taliban has made a conditional ceasefire offer to the Pakistan Government which calls for an end to Pakistan’s participation in the Afghan war, the imposition of Sharia law in the country, and to avenge the embarrassing defeat of Pakistan in the 1971 War, a GEO News report said.

The offer was made by Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP) Pakistan spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan in a telephonic call from an unknown place, the report said.

The letter calls for repeal of all laws in Pakistan which are repugnant to Islam and says the Constitution should be re-written in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, the report said.

The letter says the Taliban was dragged into a war with Pakistan and the Government and the army were responsible for this, the report said.

The war with the Taliban was started by the army and it was their religious right to defend themselves, the letter said.

It also said that any religious scholar will confirm that the defence of dignity, self-respect, life, property and faith was the right of every Muslim and fighting for this right is called Jihad, according to the report.

The Taliban condemned the Pakistan Army’s actions, calling them mercenaries for America. The Taliban said Pakistan should have a “Pure Islamic Army”, the report said.

“Instead of taking out guns against Muslims (Ahle Islam), the Pakistan Army should prepare to take revenge for the 1971 war (with India). This will also add the potential of Kashmiri mujahideen to our forces,” the Taliban said, according to the report.

The Taliban letter said Pakistan was its country and they “love its streets and plains and deserts, but we cannot sacrifice our faith for this love,” according to the report.

“If we are attacked even those who are now away from the fighting will take up arms and many more fronts will open,” it said. The Taliban said now the Government of Pakistan should decide what it wanted to do.

The letter asked this correspondent to convey the Taliban message to the Pakistani nation, according to the report.

Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Better get ready to use those nukes, India...

Taliban can mouth off this rubbish against India because the pathetic political class of India has managed to project the country as a soft state. These Taliban morons don't advocate going after China even though muslims have been slaughtered in Xinjiang province and the Taliban know the Chinese won't show them any mercy. This is something India must learn from the Chinese.

This time Talibans are high on Hashish!!!!
M

The letter is incoherent, which is typical Islamic logic. While Taliban is weaker than Pakis, it offers peace with threat and accusations. The Taliban is a hot air balloon.

Indian Tiger, Better than the Chinese is the Khmer Rouge; they killed all 250,000 Muslims. Today, there is none. The whole world should learn from them. Of course, the Khmer Rouge is no more, so Islam lives on. The Jihad Watchers make up a small group of people, not enough to destroy Islam. We are an endangered species like the Indian Tigers.

@ssa: Don't praise Democratic Kampuchea around me. They were a vicious bunch, and the only good thing that can be said about them is that they ultimately burned out.

Back in the early '90's, when I visited DP camps along the Thai-Cambodian border under UN escort, I saw some DK soldiers on R&R in one camp. Those men looked like zombies.

If there is anything more degenerative and destructive than Islam, it is clear-eyed, consistent Marxism-Leninism.

As for war between India and Pakstan, I must report that at this point, this semi-pacifistic Christian (small p and semi due to simply thinking that peace is better than war, like virtually all of my co-religionists) will probably shout "Jai Hind"!

Kepha, I am never impressed with Asia. It's a big corrupt sweat shop, not even Singapore, which is a police state and the citizens there act police too. I was very pissed at both Singapore and Japan because the people there are paranoid. They don't allow camera or picture taking at businesses. I won't go anywhere else but stay here in the West even though it's degenerating.

1/ Generalised contempt for 'Asia' is foolish and short-sighted.

There are a lot of Christians in Asia - even underground Christians surviving intense persecution in North Korea - and their number is growing. There is a strong church in China and a church in India. To see what Christians in China have in mind as a longterm spiritual project, google 'back to Jerusalem'.

Singapore is 16 percent Christian - some of Indian ethnicity, some of Chinese ethnicity - and they are heavily represented in the fields of medicine/ health care and education; unsurprisingly, in that throughout history Christians have taken to heart our Lord's command to teach and to heal.

South Korea is 30 % Christian and they are sending missionaries in all directions (even to Wales, where cheerful South Korean Presbyterians are, so I have been told, attempting to rekindle the fire of revival).

Christians in Vietnam may soon form 10 % of the population.

The church in Japan, though tiny, exists, and persists, and might one day surprise everybody; look up the martyrs of Japan, who in the 16th century suffered terrible deaths rather than renounce their Catholic Christian faith. Never, never, never underestimate the power of the grace of God to cause fire to spring up from what seem to be ashes.

Instead of whinging and looking down your nose, mate: PRAY. Pray for the church in Asia, and pray *against* the subversion and infiltration of East Asian countries by Islam.

2/ I have pointed out before that the Khmer Rouge did NOT in fact extirpate Islam in Cambodia. In your enthusiasm for the Khmer Rouge you should remember that they set out to extirpate *all* religions: it is estimated that under Pol Pot 90 % of Buddhist monks and *most Christians* perished. Are you okay with their having killed off most of the *Christians* that they found in the country when they came to power, as well as many Muslims?

Both the Christians and the Muslims have rebounded since the removal of Pol Pot.

My Christian sourcebook, Operation World, states plainly that today there are some 346 000 Muslims - mostly of Cham ethnicity - in Cambodia, growing at a rate of 3.5 %. (However, the *Christians* of Cambodia, despite the church having been ferociously persecuted by the Khmer Rouge with many Christians being martyred for their faith, today number some 471 000 and their growth rate - 8.4 % - is a lot faster than that of the Muslims).

ssa or sss holds on to a false belief strongly and he holds it in spite of invalidating or incriminating evidence. He believes Khmer Rouge were great. He thinks Jews are the problem. He thinks I am a Muslim.

He is a clown.

Sorry miss spelt his name ssa or ass. My apology.

Now you are going too far, dumbledoresarmy. I have never said I don't care about Christians in Asia. You are a Christian; the ten commandments say you must not bear false witness. I don't like any Asian government. What's wrong with that?

BlueRaven is a Muslim disguise as something else. Muslims distort people's words. I have never said Jews are problems. I know people will make ssa to ass. I created SA accidentally truck S twice and entered, and I couldn't change it. Name calling is what Muslims are good at. What's new? BlueRaven, distort my words every time I responded to him. He said things I never said. I know he wanted me to feel frustrated and quit. Won't work, Muslim.

"Won't work, Muslim"

You are a clown.

SSA - nearly each time you post something, others are correcting and strongly disagreeing with you. Does it ever occur to you that you may have a problem that you do not even notice?

Clown.

"Sorry miss spelt his name ssa or ass. My apology."

BlueRaven, apology accepted.

"You are a clown."
I can be funny. Since you are not a Mulsim, I apologize.

I don't mind that people disagree with me for as long as they don't say what I didn't say. That's including drawing implication from my writing. I write very simply because this is not a scholastic work. I don't imply anything because I don't need to do so. I have nothing to hide. Simplicity is me. I am a mathematician. Two plus two cannot be anything else but four.

I appreciate you acted gentlemanly. Remember, ask before drawing implication from my writing, although it will be a long while before I will post again. It took me four years to tell my experience living in a Muslim country at Jihad Watch. I have nothing more to tell. Repeating is not necessary.

Sorry is not the hardest word for me, and it does not seem to you either. Handshake!

"Two plus two cannot be anything else but four."

Wrong! You are not a true mathematician - figure that. Only a basic knowledge of maths will corner you to think 2+2=4.

Have fun in New Year.

................................

*I* won't take lessons from the vicious Khmer Rouge, ssa.

There are few things as horrific as Islam—but among them are the death camps of the Holocaust and the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge.

California became a refuge for many Cambodians fleeing the killing fields, and I have both read and heard first hand many of its horrors.

The idea that we should *emulate* these monsters turns my stomach.

Perhaps you are unaware of just what you are praising—I would rather think that then the alternative.

We have beaten back Islam before, and I very much believe we can do it again—and that doesn't mean matching Muslims in savagery and barbarism.

@ssa, Dumbledore's army:

I am very much aware of the problems with many Asian governments. However, I consider it a great blessing that for part of my life I was able to aid the Christian Reformed Church's mission in Taiwan with supply preaching (in Mandarin) and editing translated books. My wife and daughter-in-law are both from that country; and I retain much affection for "the Beautiful Island" where my elder son was born. I also liked Thailand (especially since the State Department taught me Thai before sending me there; and perhaps because US-Thai relations were generally good at the time and my wife received excellent care at a Bangkok hospital while carrying and giving birth to our younger son). Much as I take a jaundiced view of Marxism-Leninism in any form, I even found some things to like in Guangzhou, China. There are scads of Far Eastern immigrants and their offspring in the area where I now live, and I get along perfectly well with them. Given a good job and income, I could live comfortably in either Taiwan or Thailand.

BTW, for a number of the years I lived in Taiwan, Chiang Ching-kuo was President and there was still marital law--the chief fruits of which seemed to be that Communists got swept up as soon as they appeared, and that respectable young women could go out at night for a late night snack without fear of being mugged. As for Singapore, I now freely admit that I secretly cheered when that country caned a young American vandal who'd scratched up some of the locals' cars--even if I think that Lee Kuan Yew was a bit of a phony.

Further, my sons sometimes joke that I act a bit like an older Chinese man--even if I'm of Jewish and Scandinavian heritage; and have a very deep appreciation for the political heritage that the British peoples left us Americans. Perhaps it's because Chinese is a second language which I can both read and speak and a bit of the local culture rubbed off on me when I lived in Taiwan.

Now, as for poor Cambodia, I never learned much Khmer, but the DP's I dealt with--mostly the rural people of NW Cambodia, sprinkled with a few ethnic Chinese, Cham, and tribals--always struck me as unfailingly polite, despite the horrific experiences they'd been through and the grinding poverty which had marked most of their lives.

As for Christianity in Asia, I read somewhere that Kaing Kek Iev, aka Comrade Duch, the former head of the Tuol Seng Prison, became a Christian. Some people who worked in Cambodia also noted that he seemed genuinely repentant, and cooperated after he was found out and arrested.

And, BTW, I see Tuol Seng Prison as a pseudo-monument to the Cambodian horrors. As with Communists everywhere, Hun Sen's people put up a monument to their own comrades who got caught in what was originally a personal snit between Hun Sen and Saloth Sar (Pol Pot). The vast majority of victims ranging from people with glasses to shopkeepers to peasants who wanted to keep their farm tools and family buffalo have gotten no monument.
