Switzerland: Marijuana sellers forced teens to convert to Islam

In the thirteenth century the Ismaili Shi'ite Hashishin (حشّاشين), or Assassins, got their name from their practice of using hashish before setting out on jihad missions to assassinate Sunni leaders. They went into their missions knowing that death was virtually certain, and energized by the promise of Paradise that had been made vivid for them in an artful scenario that was used as a recruitment tool: the prospective assassin would be given hashish and then taken into a garden full of beautiful women, and told that he was enjoying a taste of Islamic Paradise. Then to return to that Paradise, he was told that he had to go out and kill his victim, and be killed in the process.

These guys don't seem to be as clever. They're just using the marijuana as a hook for their dawah.

"Pot peddlers 'forced teens to become Muslim,'" from The Local, November 29 (thanks to Benedict):

Police have arrested members of a gang of Eastern European immigrants who used violence, intimidation and the promotion of Islam to control marijuana trafficking operations in the Neuchâtel mountains, cantonal justice authorities said on Thursday.

Three members were detained for questioning following the arrest of another ringleader in March, who remains in jail, the public prosecutor’s office said, while issuing an appeal to the public for more information to help permanently disband the group.

The gang, which calls itself the Jamahat, forced other young people to become Muslims as part of its operations, said officials.

The group peddled pot to adolescents from disadvantaged families in the cities of Le Locle and La Chaux-de-Fonds, traditional watch-making centres, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The group is made up of young Muslim men originally from such places as Chechnya, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia who recently stepped up their criminal activities, authorities said.

The group “is attempting to radicalize its activities by seeking to impose — by physical and psychological violence — a monopoly on the sale of marijuana in our region.”...

On top of this, victims were made to convert to Islam, often without knowing anything about the religion and in “blind submission” to the wishes of the Jamahat group, authorities said....

Unfortunately, most Muslims know nothing about their religion. They, indeed, live in "blind submission" to the wishes of their imams, mullahs etc.
But this is changing, more and more Muslims are starting to wake up, and when they do, they leave this filthy ideology.

http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/05/dying-islam-lislam-mourant.html

Can anyone, anyone at all, imagine Jews, or Christians, engaging in drug pushing, and then telling the addicts that they can't have the stuff unless they join up?

Strikes me that organisations like Bethel, Salvation Army, Al-Anon, Society of St Stephen, and Teen Challenge, all of which aim at helping vulnerable teenagers and adults get *off* addictive substances, could do with a lot more support and encouragement...for the more people they can get *off* the junk, the fewer potential victims there will be for the drug-pushing da'wa artists to prey upon.

Just legalize it and stop funding these clowns. At least in the states most Marijuana is either domestic or Canadian. Third world countries can't grow quality Marijuana as it requires an indoor grow-op that's well sealed off. If the female plant (the psychoactive one) is grown outside it becomes pollenated, which immediately stops the production of THC and results in seeds.

@dumbledoresarmy:

Don't talk to me about Teen Challenge. They force people to convert to Christianity as a condition of graduation from their program. They're hardly better than these peddlers in Switzerland.

Honestly i'm not sure what's worse. Telling people they have to convert to push drugs, or telling people they have to convert, or get god, to quit drugs.

Gz you are right on about legalize it and in your last sentence but there is plenty of thc in third world weed, you merely have to clean out the seeds and sticks.

Put it this way.

Each of the organisations I mentioned does encourage people to seek divine *assistance (and from a benign source, surely: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God whom Christians also address as 'God and Father of Jesus the Christ', is not a murderous control-freak and eater-of-souls like the Muslims' 'allah'). However.

Supposing someone does convert, in the course of getting off their drug addiction (we're talking about people who are in serious trouble here, not some person who has an occasional marijuana cigarette).

And then suppose that person, no longer a *drug* addict, *also* decides to *stop* being a Christian, and go secular. Or, if of Jewish extraction, returns to Judaism. Or if Hindu, Buddhist, etc, returns to the faith he or she was brought up in. After a 'detour', shall we say, through Christianity. They then proceed with their life, sans the Christian faith that they temporarily sampled, and also sans their addiction/ substance abuse as well, of course.

Could you honestly claim that any of the organisations I named would do as Muslims do when someone apostasises, and send an assassin after such people, to kill them?

Suppose someone, to graduate from 'Teen Challenge', 'converts'... insincerely? What's to stop someone doing that? And then he or she leaves. Who's going to keep track of them? That person, once they do walk out the door, is free and clear...and can drop Christianity, just like any number of other Christians do all the time - whether born-and-brought-up, or converted-in. And no-one - neither a cleric nor any other member of the Christian church - is going to come after them with an axe to kill them for 'apostasy!', like happened to 'Hannah Shah' in the UK when she fled her abusive Muslim family, dropped Islam, and *freely* converted to Christianity...but foolishly told her family she had done so.

You wrote: "Honestly i'm not sure what's worse. Telling people they have to convert to push drugs, or telling people they have to convert, or get god, to quit drugs."

Your statement is unclear, and elides some important differences between the two sets of operators. Let's reword.

"Honestly i'm not sure what's worse. Muslim drug-pushers telling people they have to convert to Islam to get drugs, or *non-Muslim* religious people telling people they have to convert, or get [the non-allah] god, to quit drugs."

Really? So a Christian outfit like Teen Challenge is, in your eyes, the same as or even perhaps *worse* than a bunch of Mohammedan drug-pushing da'wa artists who don't just hook people on drugs, but then use the drugs to hook people onto *Islam*???

Surely, what is orders of magnitude worse than absolutely *anything* else, is getting sucked into Islam, or suckering others into Islam (a system that, as I already pointed out above, unlike all other mainstream religions as practised today, mandates the execution of anyone who leaves it or tries to leave it) (whatever the method used to do so).

NOTHING else comes even close.

Edit.

"Surely, what is orders of magnitude worse than absolutely *anything* else, is getting sucked into Islam, or - by whatever method - suckering others into Islam (Islam, a cult that, as I already pointed out above, unlike all other mainstream religions as practised today, mandates the execution of anyone who leaves it or tries to leave it)."

The point is that people are court ordered to go to Teen Challenge and it also receives federal funding under the faith-based initiative. People are literally forced into the program.

You can claim one can insincerely graduate the program, and while extremely difficult (if you have ever been in a cult, you would understand), it is possible. If that's true, then you're forcing people to be insincere and get no treatment, or convert to christianity and gain "treatment". It's little different than offering food to the Irish during the famine for conversions.

I care little whether the end result, christianity (AOG branch that Teen Challenge is) is better or worse than Islam. The process is just as wrong or worse, since people are actually court ordered there while people choose to use and deal drugs.

Teen Challenge is hardly a Christian outfit anyway. They lie about their program, which is hardly Christian, and deceive the state in order to gain funding. The internal workings of the organization, a branch of the First Assemblies of God church, is much closer to a cult than it is to a legitimate treatment center, of which there are very few considering that most modern drug treatment (in the US, at least), is borne out of a cult called Synanon.

The rest of the world is much more civilized. If you have a problem with chemical dependence (not addiction, which is neither a disease nor a medical term), you go to a psychologist, who can help you through it, without getting god and without converting your religion, or lack thereof. Treatment centers are largely secular. Why? Because it works. Turns out if you focus on science for a scientific / medical condition rather than god, you get better results.

Gz i share you view that science is the answer and dda is spot on as always , NOTHING else comes even close to nazi-islam.

Yes, absolutely, Islam is worse than anything else out there. You'll get no arguments from me. Nothing comes close, but when we're objectively talking about which forced conversions happen more often, and which are more difficult to avoid, when comparing these *Swiss peddlers* to *TC*, TC wins the forced conversion prize.
