Hillary Clinton out of touch on Egypt: "We must make sure the revolution isn't hijacked by extremists"

We have seen a government come to power that has arrogated for itself dictatorial powers and inspired massive protests in Egypt. It has set in motion the Sharia's institutionalized discrimination against women and non-Muslims. The President has been revealed as making numerous vile antisemitic statements and declaring that there should be no negotiations with Israel. And she is worried that the "revolution" might be "hijacked by extremists"? What does she think Morsi and his gang are?

"Hillary Clinton on Egypt: ‘We Must Make Sure the Revolution Isn’t Hijacked By Extremists,’" from Fox News, January 29 (thanks to EH):

Hillary Clinton went ‘On the Record’ with Greta Van Susteren in her final days as secretary of state. Regarding the escalating crisis in the Middle East, particularly in Egypt, Van Susteren asked Clinton her thoughts on what’s going to unfold and if the U.S. should intervene.
Clinton said, “I think that post the Arab revolutions that took place in Egypt, and Libya, and Tunisia, […] there was always going to be a period of adjustment.”

She said the U.S. must work with the international community and the people in Egypt to ensure that the revolution isn’t hijacked by extremists. Clinton acknowledged that “it’s hard” to go from decades under one man or one party rule to democracy.

Van Susteren asked about President Mohammed Morsi’s past statements about Israel and an Egyptian senior aide recently saying that the Holocaust didn’t exist. She asked pointedly, “Is Morsi with us or against us?”

Clinton answered, “We were quite concerned about those statements and the Egyptian presidency repudiated them and reaffirmed a commitment to the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty.”

Having spoken with Morsi, Clinton says he has “a lot of the right intentions.” She remained cautious, saying, “We have to you know, keep pushing forward and yet call it like we see it when we think something is not appropriate.”

I always find it grimly humorous--especially in this post 9/11 era--that the islamo-apologists are so fond of the word "hijacked," of all words, in their attempts to defend the ummah.

Anyway, methinks Hillary just needs to run to her local Wal Mart and pick up a deHUMAdifier...

One cannot be too naive when it comes to government and politicians. We tend to give them the benefit of the doubt, to our own detriment.

What is plainly evident is that the West, for reasons only they know, wanted to destablize the whole of the Middle East - from Egypt to Libya and Syria, to mention just a few. Choas reigns in these countries and if that meant to arm and support the Muslim Brotherhood and other Jihadists, so be it. This is nothing new. One has only to look at history to see this scenario had already been repeated dozens of time in such places as Iran and South and Central America. To think that elected officials are stupid and acting blindly is to concede how truly naive we are.

There is an old Italian saying, translated says,"Whenever two fight, it is the third that wins".

Pace 'Veritas' above, if neither the West nor other countries (China, Russia) had ever meddled with Islamic countries at all, not with Iran, nor Aghanistan nor Pakistan nor any others, and if the Islamosphere were ruthlessly contained within a cordon of steel that it could not cross to do harm to its non-Muslim neighbours, then I guarantee that 'chaos' would *still* reign within it.

Or rather, to be precise, the entire Islamosphere, or more likely different portions of it at different times, would oscillate wildly between shorter or longer periods of rigid despotism (whether imposed by sultans/ beys/ pashas/ emperors/ etc, or by despotic clerics - two differing species of Gang Boss) and shorter or longer periods of violent anarchy.

A Kurdish ex-Muslim intellectual from Turkey, who had converted to Christianity after being commissioned to help translate the New Testament into Kurdish, was reported as saying, in the course of giving his testimony in an article in a Bible Society magazine from 2006, that 'among Muslims, you would always fight".

And *that* is putting it in a nutshell.

Both Wafa Sultan and Ayaan Hirsi Ali testify to the suspicion and aggression which Islam naturally produced in the Islamic societies in which they grew up. Such are the 'atmospherics' of Islam. Suspicion, aggression, 'shame' and 'honor', all -pervasive lying and deception, a zero-sum mentality; all these things *guarantee* chaos.

They do not need to be fomented by any external agent and I doubt very much whether even the present situation owes much if anything to western agency; for they arise from *within* Islam.

Precisely, if the West never bothered with Islam (but it did for economic reasons, i.e OIL) then the whole Muslim world would be contained. As for Muslim technology, they would still be in the Dark Ages, following of course the scientific teachings of Mohammed etc. Without the use of non-Islamic weapons or the West importing them in their hundreds of thousands, in Christian lands, we would not be facing the problems that we have with Islam today. Of course they would still have internal fighting and the implementation of Sharia laws, but that would not have affected anyone living in the West.

I put the blame for the problems we face with Islam today squarely at the feet of the West and its greed for Oil.
