“Robert Spencer incarnates intellectual courage when, all over the world, governments, intellectuals, churches, universities and media crawl under a hegemonic Universal Caliphate’s New Order. His achievement in the battle for the survival of free speech and dignity of man will remain as a fundamental monument to the love of, and the self-sacrifice for, liberty.”

#MyJihad in the Philippines: Muslims ambush army patrol, wounding seven soldiers
Apparently they are not satisfied with the "broad autonomy" that the Philippines granted last year for the creation of a Sharia enclave.
...................
Of course they aren't—any concessions just embolden them. They won't be satisfied until they are able to seize Manilla and put the millions of Catholic and other non-Muslim Filipinos under the heel of Islam.
More:
Regional army commander Col. Charlie Galvez blamed al-Qaida-linked Abu Sayyaf militants for Tuesday’s ambush on Basilan Island. He says the attackers want to sabotage the peace process between the government and the main Muslim rebel group, which last year agreed to lay down arms in exchange for broad autonomy.
...................
Col. Galvez is dreaming if he believes that the "main Muslim rebel group" is part of the "peace process". For the most part, this is "slow Jihadist—fast Jihadist"—both groups have the same goals and may well be working in concert—they may, in fact, be essentially the same group.
But Col. Galvez—like hopeful Infidels all over the world—in Thailand, in Israel, in Nigeria, in the West—fervently wants to believe that there are rational and decent Muslim rebels for him to deal with.
More:
Basilan is a stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, which is notorious for bombings and kidnappings...
...................
Another thing that is utterly consistent, all over the world—the barbaric tactics of Jihadists.
More:
There is hope that the peace deal between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front would isolate the Abu Sayyaf and help U.S.-backed Philippine troops finish off the militants....
...................
What—now that MILF has its own semi-autonomous region? That passive construct—"there is hope"—really indicates how realistic these hopes are...
If US and Philippine troops do try to operate there, wait for the howls from the supposedly peaceful Muslim population, and the cries that going after Al Qaida is going against Islam. But continue to believe that Al Qaida-supporting Muslims want peace.
Rinse, repeat...
