Political prisoner in the UK: Tommy Robinson gets 10-month sentence

Don't think he is a political prisoner? Consider this: In December 2011 in the U.K., a gang of Muslim women who savagely beat a non-Muslim woman were let off scot-free because "they weren't used to drinking because they're Muslims." Consider also that earlier in 2011, Muslims pelted EDL members with stones, touching off an altercation; a Muslim was fined £50, while Robinson's fine was £315.

Consider also this from Pamela Geller: "He came to New York to speak at our Freedom of Speech conference on September 11, 2012 the same day our embassies were attacked in Cairo and Benghazi and our Ambassador and diplomat attaches were murdered in cold blood. No one has been prosecuted in those crimes against humanity, but Tommy Robinson is solitary confinement. Watch Tommy's speech here."

"EDL leader Stephen Lennon jailed for passport fraud," from the London Evening Standard, January 7 (thanks to Twostellas):

The leader of the English Defence League was today jailed for 10 months after admitting using another man’s passport to travel to the United States.

Stephen Lennon, 30, pleaded guilty to possession of a false identity document with improper intention, contrary to the Identity Documents Act 2010, at Southwark Crown Court.

Lennon used a passport in the name of Andrew McMaster to board a Virgin Atlantic Flight from Heathrow to New York, but was caught out after his fingerprints were taken by customs officials.

He left the airport and entered the US illegally but left the country the following day, using his own passport to return to the UK.

The court heard that Lennon, who had previously been refused entry to the US, used his friend’s passport to travel to the country in September.

He used a self check-in kiosk to board the Virgin Atlantic flight at Heathrow, and was allowed through when the document was checked in the bag drop area.

But when he arrived at New York’s JFK Airport, customs officials who took his fingerprints realised he was not Mr McMaster.

Lennon was asked to attend a second interview but left the airport, entering the US illegally.

He stayed just one night and travelled back to the UK the following day using his own legitimate passport - which bears the name Paul Harris.

The court heard that is the name that appears on the EDL leader’s passport, although he uses aliases.

Lennon, who was arrested in October, was jailed for 10 months today.

The court heard that he was previously jailed for assault in 2005 and also has previous convictions for drugs offences and public order offences....

A police state in honor of Allah...The UK has not quite hit bottom, but it is only inches away...It won't bounce, it will go 'splat'...We can have 'splat' right here if we don't take lessons from the UK and put a stop to creeping or any other kind of sharia...

The punishment fit the crime if you ask me, especially considering his priors.

I greatly admire Tommy, but when you're a public figure you need to be more careful.
We need to imitate the One who said:
"Which of you convicts me of sin?" John 8:46
And avoid the imitation of the one who use to say:
"I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day." Sahih Muslim 35, 6522

http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2011/05/saint-and-sinner.html

I guess he did it because he feels he'd be murdered if he traveled openly. I saw a video in which Tommy Robinson (Stephen Lennon) is driving down a street with a journalist filming in the car. The street is in a Muslim area. A Muslim man recognizes Tommy, comes over to the car, and starts talking belligerently to Robinson, who talks back. The Muslim, though he knows he's on camera, starts to hit Robinson in the face. The attack is interrupted as Robinson quickly drives away.

Imagine how many death threats Robinson has gotten, how many times Muslims have physically attacked him or tried to attack him, how many Muslims in the UK want to kill him and would kill him if they could. Maybe in this situation with the wrong passport, he thought the UK couldn't or wouldn't provide him adequate security. So he gets ten months for trying to protect himself. Islam appears to be a terminal disease for freedom in the U.K. Can the EDL, or some other democratic group, find a cure?

Let me see if I got this right, Stephen Lennon (an alias for Tommy Robinson) entered the US on a fraudulent passport, bypassed the second interview, entered the US illegally, then departed the US on his real passport!? Is that correct? This is criminal, plain and simple and has everything to do with his behavior, not politics. For Ms. Geller to make him out to be a victim and a "political prisoner" because he received a 10 month sentence is off the mark. As we say here in America, "if you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime." Seems to fit.

Why was Robinson / Lennon previously prohibited from entering the U.S? Robert, can you tell us why?

AKA skevin

What is the standard sentence for his offense?

There's no equivalence here, Robert.

Perhaps Lennon has been unfairly singled out somewhat by the British judiciary - and there's no doubt whatsoever that Muslim terror supporters and extremists are facilitated and treated with kid gloves by cowardly UK authorities; but the fact remains that he showed total disregard for the laws of the US and the UK by attempting to enter your country illegally.

The fact also remains that the EDL has some very shady connections indeed - violent soccer hooligans, antisemitic skinheads and Nazis and more. Not the kind of people we need on our side.

We deserve better company than this in our struggle.

Political prisoner in the UK: Tommy Robinson gets 10-month sentence
............................

Tommy Robinson *is* a political prisoner.

As noted, actual Muslim violence is winked at, while Robinson is sentenced to almost a year in prison.

His using a false passport was very unwise, but his being barred from the United States in the first place was absurd.

He is telling some very "inconvenient" truths about Islam. Can't have that...

His public order offences are no doubt connected to him being in the EDL and being attacked by "anti-fascists" and Muslims and having the nerve(!)to fight back.

So what if he has drug offences, does not Obama, the leader of the free world, admit smoking weed everyday for a long period of time and doing cocaine?

Also, this man is a REGULAR GUY, not some politician or elitist or rich person. He is the working class. He has to live in the neighborhoods being taken over by Islamists! So what that he is not perfect! Its beside the point.

Any petty crimes (and some I wouldnt even call crimes) he has committed are beside the point! Do not politcians commit grand crimes every day, and you listen to them and respect them as sheep?

This man is your average 'working joe' Brit who had the balls to speak out! If you can't respect that, then I don't know what to say to you. His whole life wasnt planned with the thought of being a public figure and carefull guarded as most who become the elite are! He is a normal person who is a patriot and because he speaks out, as he lives with Islamic violence and supremacism IN NEIGHBORHOOD the spotlight was on him, and he gladly took the reigns. Warts and all. More than we can say for those of you who criticise him! Who sit safely behind your computer and smear him as if he is a low-life. Shame on you!

He didn't use "a false passport"- he used somebody else's passport.

Tommy has been convicted for an alleged offence in a foreign country.

What right has the British judiciary imprisoning an English patriot who has broken no law in the UK?

If a crime was committed, it was committed in the U.S. A.

In that case, why didn't the U.S. ask for him to be extradited?

I get it: Britain still has jurisdiction over the U.S., the revolution never happened, or did it?

Why was he not allowed to come to the US in the first place is the biggest question. Because he has some misdemeanor BS on his record??

But he did break a law in the UK - he used someone else's travel documents and impersonated them; that is tantamount to using a falsified document.

He then went on to attempt to enter the US illegally.

Whether or not you think he is a freedom fighter, he did act contrary to the laws of the United Kingdom - as well as the United States.

Also, let us remember, while it was a stupid move by Tommy Robinson, he did it to display solidarity with Americans on 9/11.

Yes, he is a political prisoner, and yes, he was foolish in not considering a sadly important fact: He is not going to be judged on anything resembling a level playing field, so any miss-step on his part, would be jumped on, exaggerated, and used to beat him over the head or even to death with.

He is trying to take on a very corrupt political and legal system, one which in no way reflects England’s history and is transforming into a very literal fascist state.

He should have ‘attended’ by a video link, and his effort posted on any sympathetic websites, with captions outlining the degenerate state of England’s previously quite noble heritage.

If your enemy is NOT playing by any rules (Islam and rules?? Pathetic thought.) you have to step outside the rules, without breaking them…. Until you have overwhelming support. He might actually have overwhelming support at this point, but the English lickspittle media would make sure it is never known to be there for him.

Soooo

He is neither a patriot or a political prisoner.

Lennon and EDL claim to be defending English Laws, yet have no problem breaking them

He was barred entry due to his criminal convictions.

#1 He had served a twelve months prison sentence for assaulting an off-duty police officer who had intervened to stop a domestic incident between Lennon and his partner Jenna Vowles. He was convicted on 18 April 2005 for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault with intent to resist arrest while his partner was cautioned for possession of cocaine.

#2 On 24 August 2010, Lennon was involved in a fight between supporters of Luton Town and Newport County in Luton, on the evening the two clubs played at Kenilworth Road. Lennon reportedly led the group of Luton fans, and played an integral part in starting the 100-man brawl, during which he chanted "EDL till I die". Eleven months later, in July 2011, he was convicted of having used "threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour" on the night of the incident. He was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order and a three-year ban from attending football matches. He was also sentenced to 150 hours' unpaid work, and ordered to pay £650 in costs

#3 On 29 September 2011 he was convicted of common assault after headbutting a fellow EDL member of the armed forces at a rally in Blackburn in April that year. The judge stated that a custodial sentence
could not be ruled out.

Well what does he expect? He knew he would be denied entry and tried to cheat the system.

He has nobody else to blame but himself

Your own lack of anything that resembles integrity, renders your posts void.

I agree with Un:dhimmi. Stephen Lennon broke British and American laws, and he took the usual punishment for breaking those laws. Anything he has done in the past (his prior conviction for assault; his good work in speaking for freedom; his having been a victim in other matters) is irrelevant. He was guilty of this offence.

We can ask some big questions about why Mr Lennon has been banned from the USA while terrorists are allowed in. We can ask big questions about why he has suffered discrimination because of his legitimate activities. But two wrongs don't make a right. We should deal with the real problem (the discrimination against people who hold certain political views) rather than cry persecution because, on this occasion, justice worked against him.

The EDL may well have been founded on honest objectives, intending to be different from hate-groups like the BNP. But groups like the EDL will always attract a fringe of haters to their membership. What is Mr Lennon doing to maintain the integrity of his organisation and keep hateful types out of it? The evidence is that he simply hasn't thought this through. If he honestly believes that his ends justify his means, his contribution to the counter-jihad isn't going to be very helpful.

Shame on those Hypocrites whose lives are planned in public life.

There is no doubt that Tommy Robinson acted foolishly in entering the US on another person's passport.

Given the dhimmi enabling of the current governments of both the US and the UK, his being railroaded should come as no surprise.

But that does not mean that his draconian sentencing or his barring from the US in the first place is right.

It just shows that any Anti-Jihadist must be an absolute boy scout, lest they give the dhimmi authorities *any* excuse to come down hard on them.

Meanwhile, of course, both garden-variety criminals and—especially—Jihadists get the benefit of the doubt—even where there is no doubt...

Madness, and suicidal madness.

I have decided that rather than complain about the dhimmi British authorities I am boycotting all British goods. It means that my family also won't be buying British goods because I control the purse.

What British goods? Everything we 'make' is manufactured in China and is largely junk. I support a boycott of Chinese goods worldwide which would hopefully harm another supremacist expansionist nation and it's desire to rule the world.

Has anyone seen the Jihad Watch regular "Westward Ho"? Haven't seen him in a long time, and I wrote a message to him as an essay on my blog back in August, but no reply from him.

http://hesperado.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-belated-note-to-reader-westward-ho.html

While it is not any sort of 'justice' that he sits in jail in solitary confinement (as Muslims would murder him given half a chance and we know how many Muslims are in UK jails), I am willing to bet that he is serving his sentence with pride and with the knowledge that he is fighting for a just cause.

They cannot break him. He will come out stronger, and the officials know this fact, so let's hope that they do not try to prevent him from coming out alive by looking the other way as Muslims murder him in jail. He is safer on the outside where he has control of his own life. I fear for his life when the officials have any part in the control of it.

The best way we can prevent that is to let the officials know we are watching, are aware of him being there, and we hold them responsible for his safety. http://englishdefenceleague.org/

I really wanted to believe in this guy. up until now he has been able to represent the interests and concerns of native Britons with a kind of streetwise eloquence, putting things succinctly into perspective with unvarnished honesty and showing himself able to do so even when the cards were stacked against him.

Whatever his past going forward into his role as leader of the EDL, he should have scrupulously obeyed the laws that all are (still) expected to adhere to. Who here has traveled using another person's passport or would advocate doing so. I know I don't. And I wouldn't want anyone to do so using an excused Tommy Robinson as a precedent.

I don't know if Robinson's reputation can be rehabilitated after this. I hope so. His image in the British counterjihad has proven beneficial. But it will take time and time is one thing that is in short supply.
