Sweden: Eight years for honor murder

And the honor murderer is planning to appeal, complaining that this sentence is excessive. Perhaps a tougher sentence for a young man who stabbed his sister 107 times to cleanse his family's honor would be "racist."

Stockholm: A Swedish court on Tuesday sentenced a 17-year-old man to eight years in prison for stabbing his sister 107 times in what judges called an honour killing.
The teen, who was 16 at the time, was convicted of killing his 19-year-old sister at her home in the southwestern town of Landskrona on April 23 last year.

He had called emergency services and said a masked attacker had killed her, but investigators said his story didn't hold up against evidence found at the scene.

"The court found the man guilty of the murder and that the motive was to restore the family's honour," the Lund district court said in a statement.

It said that "despite the man's young age," it was sentencing him "to a long prison sentence, and has set it at eight years."

The names and nationalities of the brother and sister were not disclosed, but media described the family as being of Iraqi origin.

The sister had told friends and family that she was worried her life was in danger, after she fled from Iraq, where she had been reportedly married against her will to an older man whom she claimed beat and raped her.

Once in Sweden, she contacted social services in Landskrona, but she said they did not take her family's threats against her seriously, Swedish media reported.

The court meanwhile refused to pay damages to the victim's mother and a half-sister born to the same father, arguing the relatives did not have a close relationship with the deceased.

The lawyer for the convicted teen called the sentence "extremely harsh" and said he planned to appeal.

Once the sentence is served, strip him of Swedish citizenship and send him back to Islamic Iraq.

And investigate the rest of the family very thoroughly, on strong suspicion of collusion; because these sorts of murders are usually decided upon by a family conclave; they probably picked the boy to be the actual executioner, because they knew that in Sweden someone who is not a legal adult will get a lighter sentence.

The best course of action would be to send not just the actual murderer but the whole of the murder victim's family - who one can safely assume are complicit in and very probably *ordered* the murder - back to Iraq as well. If they're Sunnis they can go to a Sunni-dominated area; if Shiite, well, the Shiites rule the roost in Iraq now; and if they're Kurds rather than Arabs, they can go to the Kurdish-controlled region.

They do *not* belong in Sweden.

and I hope everyone noticed the typical Mohammedan 'overkill' employed: he stabbed his sister "107 times ".

One hundred and seven times, he shoved that knife into her. His own sister.

and this is one in the eye for the moral equivalencers - the sorts of things - mutilation, torture, frenzied repeat stabbings - that are done to the victim of an 'honor' murder (killed by a family member) are indeed only usually seen, in the West, in cases where psycho serial killers prey on women unknown to them, or on prostitutes. They are rarely if ever inflicted by western 'domestic' murderers killing relatives.

How is this a "long" sentence"? The vicious, murdering creep will be back out on the street by the time he's twenty-five—and that's if he serves the whole of his sentence, which is increasingly rare in the West, even if he doesn't get it overturned on appeal.

*How common is this*? The forced marriage to an older man, the rape, the abuse, and the fear of being "Honor Killed" by her vicious family even when back in the (comparative) safety of the West.

The question I always have is that since the victim *knew* she was in danger, why she didn't put more space between herself and her homicidal family? Even in a small country like Sweden, this is certainly possible.

But—over and over again—we hear that even when the victim had the gumption to leave the family home—as here—that she still hangs out in the same neighborhood and the same social circles, and often foolishly allows family members into her home.

I do understand the dynamic—but all too often, it proves to be suicidal when dealing with murderous Muslim relatives.

Talk about chutzpah! The family wants 'blood money' from the Swedish state—from Infidel taxpayers—for a murder committed by one of their own family members.

No doubt the family just considers it Jizya from the "filthy Kuffar".

This is especially appalling since—as Dumbledore's Army noted—it is quite likely that other family members were in on the plot to kill the girl.

In addition, in many muslim dominated countries the law allows the family of a murdered person to forgive the murderer, and if so (with or without a blood money payment), the murderer can be freed.

So, in some countries, not only would a minor be given a lighter sentence, but the family of the murdered woman can elect to 'pardon' the murderer, effectively nullifying any punishment. Were the head of the family: the father, to have done the murder it would not be clear as to who can forgive the murderer. Picking a minor gets around some of these issues.

In a country ruled by Sharia, especially that reliant on the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence, a person is totally immune from punishment of the killing of their child or grandchild. [Reliance of the Traveller, o1.2]

107 stabs, 8 years. thats 13 stabs per year. less than a month per stab. the lockerbie bomber served 12 days per murder. who says swedish justice isnt harsh? thats only for muslim invaders, though. you would not want to be a swede convicted of murdering a dear muslim.

In sweden they always get out from prison after 2/3 of the time.

So 8 years is actually just 5 years and 4 months

So it is 20 stabs per year!
