Glad that's cleared up: Pakistan's Foreign Minister says both Islam and Christianity stand for peace

paul-lutheran-church-mardan-reu-2-670.jpgA church in Pakistan after Muslims got through being peaceful in it

Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan's Foreign Minister, here retails comforting fictions that, as common as they are, fly in the face of reality. But given the state of the world today, I am sure her brand of deceptive "dialogue" would be welcome at the upcoming Catholic conference in Worcester, Massachusetts, which barred me from speaking after getting pressured by the mainstream media and Islamic supremacists (sign the petition here).

She was speaking at a book launching ceremony; apparently the book is called "Churches of Pakistan." I expect it's a glossy, coffee table book full of attractive photos of churches in Pakistan. I'd be very surprised if it included anything about the reality for churches in Pakistan, or else Hina Rabbani Khar would almost certainly not have appeared at the launch. A few recent examples of the all too common experiences of the churches of Pakistan:

Muslim mob fires on Christians celebrating Christmas -- December 29, 2012

Muslims threatened to bomb church school unless it paid them $51,000 -- December 14, 2012

600-strong Muslim mob attacks church -- October 17, 2012

Muslims beat bishop as he was leaving church -- September 29, 2012

Pakistan: Christians demand reconstruction of church Muslims burnt during Muhammad movie riots -- September 22, 2012

Muslims open fire on Catholic cathedral and shoot at nun -- September 19, 2012

Armed Muslims attack Christians, collect jizya from Christian merchants -- August 31, 2012

But don't be concerned. Both Islam and Christianity teach peace! To call attention to any of this might harm Catholic/Muslim relations!

"Islam‚ [sic] Christianity stand for peace: FM Khar," from the Frontier Post, February 2:

ROME (NNI): Foreign Minister was speaking at book launching ceremony of "Churches of Pakistan" in Rome.

Speaking at book launching ceremony of "Churches of Pakistan" in Rome the Foreign Minister said both Pakistan and Italy share the conviction that dialogue fosters tolerance‚ mutual understanding and respect for peace and harmony.

She said both Islam and Christianity stand for peace and common brotherhood of all mankind.

A church in Pakistan after Muslims got through being peaceful in it

Islam...feel the love...

They do both stand for peace...But it all depends on how you define 'peace'...Peace for Islam manifests when 'all' resistance to Allah stops, and the whole world is for him...There is no room for any other definition...

They both stand for peace? That's laughable!

May I suggest Robert Spencer's book ...

*Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't*

Christianity or Islam: which is the real "religion of peace"?

Almost any liberal pundit will tell you that there's a religion bent on destroying our Constitution, stripping us of our liberties, and imposing religious rule on the U.S. And that religion is . . .Christianity! About Islam, however, the Left is silent--except to claim a moral equivalence between the two: if Islam has terrorists today, that's nothing compared to the Crusades, inquisitions, and religious wars in Christianity's past.

But is this true? Are conservative Christians really more of a threat to free societies than Islamic jihadists? Is the Bible really "just as violent" as the Qur'an? Is Christianity's history really as bloodstained as Islam's?

In Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't, New York Times bestselling author Robert Spencer not only refutes such charges, but also explains why Americans and Europeans must regain an appreciation of our Christian heritage if we ever hope to defeat Islamic supremacism. In this eye opening work, Spencer reveals:

* The fundamental differences between Islamic and Christian teachings about warfare against other religions: "Love your enemies" vs. "Be ruthless to the unbelievers"

* The myth of Western immorality and Islamic puritanism and why the Islamic world is less moral than the West

* Why the Islamic world has never developed the distinction between religious and secular law that is inherent in Christianity

* Why Christianity has always embraced reason--and Islam has always rejected it

* Why the most determined enemies of Western civilization may not be the jihadists at all, but the leftists who fear their churchgoing neighbors more than Islamic terrorists

* Why Jews, Christians, and peoples of other faiths (or no faith) are equally at risk from militant Islam

Spencer writes not to proselytize, but to state a fact: Christianity is a true "religion of peace," and on it Western civilization stands. If we are not to perish under Islam's religion of the sword--with its more than 100 million active jihadists seeking to impose sharia law--we had better defend our own civilization.

Hina Rabbani is threading on thin ice. Having (or being accused of having) an illicit affair, the mad mullah's are already calling for stoning her to death:

Hina Rabbani Khar and Bilawal Bhutto facing stoning demand from Bangladeshi Islamic leader Mufti Fazlul Huq Amini.

http://low-intensity-conflict-review.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/mad-mullah-recommend-stoning-for-hina.html

Eminent Islamic scholars, leaders and clergies in Bangladesh are recommending punishment under Sharia law for Pakistani foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and co-chairman of Pakistan People's Party [PPP] Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the adultery. According to Bangladeshi daily newspaper the Amader Orthoneeti [Our Economy], eminent Islamic scholar and leader of the Islami Oikya Jote [Islamic Unity Movement] Mufti Fazlul Huq Amini, commenting on allegation of adultery of Hina and Bilawal told the daily, "If this report is true, it cannot be accepted under the Islamic laws. If Bilawal Bhutto is truly a bisexual and alcoholic; he does not have right to become the head of the state of any Muslim nation. The laws in Pakistan, does not permit such illicit activities."
He said, punishment of adultery under Islamic code is stoning to death or whipping. Hina Rabbani Khar and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari now must stand for trial under the Islamic law, if they are found guilty.
Mizbahur Rahman, Islamic scholar and politician commenting on allegation of adultery between Hina Rabbani Khar and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Islam forbids adultery and extra-marital relations.
"This is a severe offense under the Islamic laws. Bilawal Bhutto is a criminal in the eyes of Islamic law and such people can never be allowed to continue as a leader or head of the state in any Muslim nation", he said.
It may be mentioned here that, constitutionally Pakistan is an Islamic republic, where Islamic laws must be strictly applied to any such cases of adultery irrespective of the social or otherwise positions of the committers.

So right. War is halal if it leads to the "peace" of Islam.

Glad that's cleared up: Pakistan's Foreign Minister says both Islam and Christianity stand for peace
..........................

This is just shameless. It reminds me of the aliens in "Mars Attacks!", chasing their victims down with death rays while screaming "We come in peace!"

But, really, this crap wouldn't work if so many credulous Westerners weren't so pathetically desperate to hear it.

Here's more soothing—if highly implausible—Taqiyya from Hina Rabbani Khar:

"Pakistan reaffirms commitment to protection of minorities and religious freedom"

http://vaticaninsider.lastampa.it/en/world-news/detail/articolo/pakistan-religious-freedom-rabbani-khar-21876/

"Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Rabbani Khar, reaffirms her country’s commitment to religious freedom and protection of minorities...

"Questioned by the press about the situation of Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Catholic mother of five children, in prison and under sentence of death since November 2010 on charges of blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed and now awaiting the results of her appeal, the Pakistani Minister noted that the case was “sub judice” and preferred not to comment. She said it was important that the due process of law take its route. She did however note that the person who accused her of blasphemy is also in prison. "
..........................

Oh, well—that's all right, then! sarc/off

Interesting stuff on Hina Rabbani Khar, Sheik.

We've certainly seen this before—even Muslims who are in grave danger from Islam continue to shill for their vile creed.

Seconding duh-swami, who wrote, above - "They do both stand for peace...But it all depends on how you define 'peace'..".

Precisely. What Muslims mean by 'peace' and what Christians mean by 'peace' are two entirely different things.

Roll on the day when a basic course in decoding Islamspeak (which is similar to Orwell's Newspeak, and if one has read Orwell's 1984, one soon gets the hang of how to translate Islamspeak) is part of the training of all Infidel religious and political leaders, all Infidel law enforcement, all Infidel soldiers, and all Infidel diplomats and businesspeople. We would avoid a lot of grief if we could not be bamboozled by all those flowery nothings and doublespeak that spew from Muslim mouths whenever and wherever they are not quite strong enough to simply shriek at us, 'Convert...or Die'! "Pay the jizya, or die!' ''Give me your little daughter to rape NOW, or I shoot you!"

A further note.

Anyone here who would *really* like to know about the history of the Christian Church in Pakistan should read Canon Dr Patrick Sookhdeo's book - based on his PhD thesis - "A People Betrayed: The Impact of Islamization on the Christian Community in Pakistan".

Dr Sookhdeo's mother was a Muslim of Pakistani background, in British Guyana; his father was an Indian Hindu, also in British Guyana, who became a Muslim to marry Sookhdeo's mother. The family migrated to the UK, where at the age of 19 Dr Sookhdeo converted to Christianity and eventually became a Christian priest (he is a non-residentiary Canon with the Church of Pakistan, which is a member of the Anglican Communion; I suspect he may have chosen to become one of their Canons as a way of showing solidarity with those whom his mother's co-religionists are so cruelly persecuting).

I have read the book and it is well worth reading. The subtitle is "Can there be freedom for Christians in an Islamic State?"...and by the time you get to the end of the book, you know that the answer is, simply, NO. (And there cannot be freedom for members of any other non-Muslim belief system, either).

For contemporary updates on what is happening today, one can consult the website of the Barnabas Fund and/ or subscribe to their prayer leaflet or e-newsletter; and one can also consult the website of the British Pakistani Christian Association, a small but feisty organisation who have done things like holding protest rallies on the doorstep of the Pakistani diplomatic shopfronts in the UK.

http://britishpakistanichristian.blogspot.co.uk/

The BCPA are holding a big religious freedom rally in Trafalgar Square on Saturday March 2nd this year, to protest against the discrimination against and persecution of Christians in Pakistan. I would encourage ALL UK jihadwatchers - and perhaps there are even others from continental Europe who could cross the Channel or the North Sea for the occasion - to attend. Make it BIG. Make it LOUD.

All details here (share it around, UK readers; also French, Dutch, German, Danes, perhaps some of you might be able to attend or know people who could).

http://britishpakistanichristian.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/2nd-march-2013-protest-against.html

The focus is on the persecuted Christians but they are well aware that within Pakistan the remnant Hindus and Sikhs are also suffering dreadful abuse.

I see that among those attending will be prominent Sikhs, a Hindu human rights campaigner, and a Jew. And there is at least one Christian priest in the UK who is prepared to stand up and be counted: one Father Gareth Jones of St Marys Parish, Ilford.

London Jim - I expect you to attend, if you possibly can, and bring a full report back here.

I will pray that they get *thousands* of people: not only Christians, but Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, and nonreligious who care about human rights, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion. the bigger it is, the stronger the statement it will make, both to the powers-that-be in Pakistan, *and*, more importantly, to the Authorities in the UK, who could do a great deal more to put pressure on - and, indeed, punish - Pakistan re. its gross abuses of the human rights of non-Muslim minorities.

If you do go, before you go, if you can, read the book by Patrick Sookhdeo that I have just mentioned; and get, and read, Dr Mark Durie's three books.

First, 'Revelation? Do We Worship the Same God? Jesus, God, Holy Spirit in Christianity and Islam' (much of this book though primarily aimed at Christians would be of use also to *Jews* who are being approached by Muslim da'wa artists, as well, Muslims slyly using the old 'monotheism' and 'Abrahamic religions' schtick; and it might assist Hindus, Buddhists and atheists to disabuse themselves of the idea that Islam is the same sort of thing as Judaism or Christianity, so that they can *assist* any Jewish or Christian friends or contacts they have who they see falling for the Muslim conmen who are falsely 'claiming kinship' in order to get a foot inside the door of the synagogue or the church).

Then, and even more importantly, 'The Third Choice: Islam, Dhimmitude and Freedom' (which is relevant to ALL whose communities have ever suffered or are suffering de jure or de facto dhimmitude, as well as those that Muslims are currently 'grooming'' for dhimmitude) and, for Christians particularly, a small companion volume to 'The Third Choice', entitled, 'Liberty To The Captives'.

Anyway, if I lived in the UK instead of Australia, I know where I would be, on the 2nd March, come hell or high water. I'd be in London; right in front of the Pakistani Embassy in Knightsbridge, at 10.30 am, standing with the British Pakistani Christian Association and their friends. They plan to present a petition to the Embassy; they will then (not as a formal march, people will scatter and proceed informally, but I would advise moving in groups of three or four) to number 10 Downing Street to present another petition *there*; and then they are marching en masse to Trafalgar Square for a concert.

UK jihadwatchers - publicise this. If you attend a church or a synagogue, or if you are a British Hindu or Sikh, why not encourage your entire community to turn out? This is about defending and upholding the *human rights* of a massively abused and oppressed group of people.

(What's needed right now, of course, are *similar* rallies on behalf of the desperately-imperilled Coptic Christians of Egypt, and the equally imperilled Christians of Syria. And that's a shoutout, btw, to any Copts resident in Australia who may be reading here over my shoulder right now, 3rd February 2013; you hold the rallies, and we Aussie jihadwatchers, unless we live just too far away [by which I mean, interstate], will undertake to show up. And to be blunt, in addition to this, I'd like to see Zionist organisations holding some *big* pro-Israel and pro-Jewish solidarity rallies across the western world, right now; especially in light of the public exposure recently given to Muslim Jew-hatred, as expressed by Mohammed Morsi of Egypt).

A small correction to the above. I got the acronym wrong.

For 'The BCPA are holding a big religious freedom rally in Trafalgar Square on Saturday March 2nd this year'

read 'The BPCA are holding a big religious freedom rally in Trafalgar Square on Saturday March 2nd this year...'.
