You are perfectly free to ignore a posting that mentions 'prayer' . I'm not making you read it. I am not proselytising, either, by merely expressing, very generally, spiritual goodwill toward my suffering fellow-Infidels in India.

Question, relative to your further remarks: do you seriously think that unless and until **everyone on earth** who practises a religion of *any* kind - the Christians, the Buddhists, the Parsees, the aboriginal australian animists in northern Australia, the Taoists, the Shinto, the shamanists, the Jews (all fourteen million of them of whom rather less than that are fully observant/ practising), the Sikhs, the Hindus, and a good few others less well known - becomes a fully enlightened and thoroughly modern atheist materialist like yourself, Islam cannot be identified as evil, resisted and contained?

Do you seriously believe that so long as there are, anywhere on earth, even some people publicly practising any sort of non-Muslim faith, that this represents an insurmountable obstacle to the identification and countering of the mortal - and quite distinct - menace posed by the Ummah or Mohammedan Mob? An obstacle that must be made to cease to exist...how?

Are you aiming to eliminate the 'soft targets' first - all those dastardly Christians and Hindus, for example, making up over a third of humanity, whose mere existence is *the* main barrier, so you seem to suggest, to the proper tackling of Islam; and then - and ONLY then - tackle Islam?

You need to read Mark Durie's essay 'Twelve Bad Ideas'.

Because, given that you are evading the specificity of Islam by sweepingly dismissing all religion as such; or using the badness of Islam to 'prove' (which it does not) that all religion, as such, is evil, you are subscribing to the first of the various errors he lists in that essay.

A Dozen Bad Ideas

You don't need everybody in the non-Muslim world to become a militant atheist, in order for Islam to be identified as a threat, and contained; all you need is for enough people to have enough nous to recognise that *a particular religion* - or, I would say, in the case of Islam, cult - can be massively evil...because of its core teachings. Such a thing is not impossible. It's happened before. There was the Thuggee cult. That was got rid of very effectively, and without needing a prior campaign to turn India into a country of thoroughly-modern 19th century materialists.
