UK: Birmingham's Muslim community did not inform police of jihad terror plot

And in the US, Hamas-linked CAIR tells Muslims not to help law enforcement

The community knew the plotters were sending people to jihad terror training camps in Pakistan, but did nothing. Could it be because far more people in the community than anyone would like to admit hold to the same ideology as that of the plotters? "Birmingham's Muslim community did not inform police of terrorism plot," from the Birmingham Post, February 22 (thanks to JH):

No-one in the Birmingham bomb plotters' own community tipped the police off with their concerns, despite finding out they were sending young men to terror training camps in Pakistan.
Three Birmingham men were found guilty of planning a massive terrorist bomb attack, while a further six had previously admitted their involvement in the plans.

But at no point during the 18-month investigation by the West Midlands counter-terrorism unit did anyone in Birmingham's Muslim community inform on the behaviour of Irfan Naseer, Irfan Khalid and Ashik Ali, raising questions over the health of relations between officers and community leaders.

This was despite the fact the families of four other young men recruited from Sparkhill all intervened to bring them back home the moment they found out the real reasons for them travelling to Pakistan.

Detective Inspector Adam Gough, senior investigating officer, said the extended families of the four men had "become aware" of why they went to Pakistan but, in any case, "did not tell us".

Ishaaq Hussain, Shahid Khan, Khobaib Hussain and Naweed Ali were told to tell loved ones they were studying at madrassas if asked.

Police and security services were aware the four were travelling but decided against stopping them to preserve the surveillance operation and because evidence-gathering was in the early stages.

According to detectives, none of the men received any terror training as they left the camps after a day.

Mr Gough said: "We know pressure was applied to them to come back.

"Shahid Khan virtually ran home. Three of the four came back almost immediately, while the fourth stayed with his family in Pakistan.

"We know that they did reach a training camp.

"But it is a success story in that the families did bring those people back and it shows the vast majority of the community abhor terrorism in the same way we do."

Community engagement - under what the police call the Prevent programme - is supposed to form a cornerstone of the UK counter-terrorism policing strategy.

Prevent aims to respond "to the ideological challenge of terrorism" by "developing partnerships" with communities, thereby preventing people being "drawn into terrorism".

Assistant Chief Constable Marcus Beale, who is responsible for counter-terrorism at West Midlands Police, said: "The families were trying to do their best to get them back and stop them getting into trouble, rather than get in touch with us.

"I agree it would have been really good if more could have been shared with us, and we could have dealt with it in a different way.

"In terms of community engagement, would I like them to come forward more? Yes, I would.

"Do I think they (the Muslim community) were being disruptive - no, I do not."

Mr Beale also said he believed the two local charitable organisations on whose behalf the three men had masqueraded to raise money "were duped, rather than being complicit".

He added: "We want to help make sure they (the charities) are not quite so easily duped in the future."

Some of that money scammed from charities was actually gambled away by another member of the group, Rahin Ahmed, who was given the task of playing the financial markets to try to increase the group's cash reserves.

He previously admitted engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terror, encouraging acts of terror, collecting money for terrorism and assisting other to travel for training in terrorism....

Ok, so we know that we're dealing with a fifth column here, a blatant bull elephant in the room.
These bastards can't be trusted, as time and again the evidence presents itself.
So why do I feel, even after telling the people that I know, that although I'm stating the glaringly obvious, I am still bashing my head against a brick wall? (People who comment here regularly don't count. Anyone can preach to the converted.)

Salma Yaqoob and Mohammed Ishtiaq of George Galloways Respect Party are both councillors for Sparkbrook in Birmingham.

Two Muslim councillors were under fire today after they refused to take part in a standing ovation to honour a Marine who won the George Cross.
Salma Yaqoob and Mohammed Ishtiaq remained seated during a ceremony for Lance Corporal Matthew Croucher.

The 26-year-old was awarded the George Cross after he flung himself onto a Taliban hand grenade to save his comrades during an ambush in Helmand Province in 2008

Salma Yaqoob and her Brother Rashad Yaqoob where very active in campaigning for the British jihadists who were imprisoned by the Yemeni authorities for their terrorist activities.

A numer of tourists, who had been captured by the Islamic Army of Aden-Abyan, were killed during the attempt to rescue them. The so-called Yemen Eight included both the son and the stepson of the radical Islamist preacher, Abu Hamza al-Masri

So not only are they keeping quite, they are aiding the jihadists.

Gough and Beale don't seem to have learned anything about islam, and one would think a 'counter-terrorism' unit would take steps to inform itself of the tenets of the 'religion' which was committing murder and mayhem.

**Vast majority** ??!!

It really **doesn't** show that at all. All it shows is that **4** families decided they didn't want their sons to end up as suicide bombers ( **and** we don't know their reasons for so deciding). It doesn't mean they abhorred mass murder, just that for whatever reason they didn't want **their** sons involved.

Neither the **families**, nor the 'vast majority of the community' that Gough is burbling about, clearly gave a tinker's damn about the non-muslim community who would have been the targets of their murderous sons, since they didn't bother to inform the police about any of it.

This is so completely stupid and naïve. One can't 'develop partnerships' with people who see non-muslims as either apes and pigs, or who see what benefits the ummah as trumping preventing mass murder.

As for Beale; well out of the mouths of babes and sucklings ...

If this had been **non-muslims** who knew plans for mass murder were afoot, and merely rescued their own, and said **nothing** to the police, would Beale have been waffling about what a pity they didn't share their information with the police ?

Would he **hell**, he'd have done his best to get them on withholding information about a crime from the police, or conspiracy to commit murder, at the very least.

But because they're **muslims**, they get away with it. Because if the police actually charged them with anything, they might go on a muslim rampage, and that would 'damage community cohesion'.

Beale is a pathetic dhimmi fool. It's not **disruptive** to withhold pertinent information about a possible crime from the police, it's a **bloody crime** !!

When we have people like these two idiots in charge of investigations into muslim plans to murder infidels, then another 7/7 will not be far away.

The four, and their **families**, should be stripped of their citizenship, their passports cancelled, and deported. And if I had **my** way, the whole bloody 'community' would be deported.
