Pakistan: Muslim mob of 3,000 forces Christian community to flee for their lives over blasphemy accusation

Will the Islamophobia never end? "Blasphemy accusation: Hundreds of Christians in Lahore forced to flee," by Rana Tanveer for the Express Tribune, March 9 (thanks to Lookmann):

A mob of almost 3,000 people, forced a Christian community to flee for their lives on Friday, leaving behind their houses and possessions.
This occurred in the Badami Bagh area, when one of the Christians was accused of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The charged group gathered around Joseph Colony on Noor Road, led by Shafiq Ahmed, who was in search of the accused Savan, alias Bubby. The mob attacked Savan’s house, partially burnt it and pelted it with stones. Other houses in the locality – home to about 150 Christian families – were also attacked. Many residents, including women and children, hastily fled to save themselves.

Savan could not be found. However, his father was caught and badly beaten. The vehicle of a pastor, who reached the area to inquire about the incident, was also damaged.

The episode began at 1 pm in the afternoon and did not conclude till the evening, when a large number of police personnel finally reached the spot and averted further damage.

The police placated the mob by registering an FIR under section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code (death sentence) against Savan and ensuring that he would be given into their custody to decide his fate. They also took Chaman Masih into custody.

Despite all this, the protesters continued to claim that they would not let the families return until Savan’s arrest.

Shahid Imran, complainant in the FIR, told The Express Tribune that Savan would utter blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet (pbuh) from time to time. When it happened again on Thursday, he told his friend Shafiq, who took out a knife and went straight to Savan’s house. This visit bore no fruit. Then, on Friday, he incited other men to join him in punishing Savan.

According to Imran, the situation went out of control when people reached the spot after offering prayers under Qari Saifullah. Countless people had joined the mob, chanting slogans and throwing stones at the houses.

Qari Saifullah said that if they find Savan, they must cut him into pieces.

Human Liberation Commission of Pakistan Chairman Aslam Parvaiz Sahotra visited the site and told The Express Tribune that the police registered the FIR after bowing to the pressure of the mob. However, the police did save children and women.

This is what you get with a democratic government in a Muslim country. The police are susceptible to political pressures, and a lynch mob has almost free rein.

Non-Muslims are almost invariably better off under autocratic dictatorships or hereditary kingdoms (Saudi Arabia always excepted), where the police answer to the ruler rather than to politicians.

The situation in Jordan seems to be slowly deteriorating, probably due to the increasing democratization of the government, and the deterioration of the absolute power of the monarch, no doubt at the urging of the United States.

Actually, the best hope for the reform of Islam is to wall off the Islamic countries, leave them to their own devices, outside of security necessities such as preventing Iran from developing a nuclear bomb, and allow Islamist rulers to emerge.

An Islamist ruler is a totalitarian ruler. Once the reins of power are firmly in his hands, he can moderate or change Islam. Otherwise, his provinces will remain backward and poor.

Currently, the West supports the deposition of absolute rulers in the Islamic world, leading inevitably to a backward, aggressive, and oppressive society. The support of the West for the deposition of stable, though unsavory governments, is actually a huge disadvantage for potential Muslim progress.

The unwritten rule of the mainstream media seems to be that Muslim persecution of non-Muslims is to be avoided at all costs.

I suppose they want to avoid being BOMBarded by all of that righteous Islamic anger by appearing to criticise the perfect religion of peace.

Entirely typical—in Dar-al-Islam, the police take *hours* to arrive when Infidels are being attacked—this gives the Muslim mob hours to run rampant.

Again, typical. When police *do* arrive, they may stop the violence, but then they *arrest the victims*. I don't know who Chaman Masih is, but from his surname it is clear that he is Christian.

So—attacking and burning down homes, destroying a car, and beating an innocent man are perfectly acceptable and carry no penalties, but police have filed charges that may lead to the death penalty for a man accused of "blasphemy".

This could be random, but I doubt it. That fact that this mob was got up on Friday likely means that they did their recruiting *at the Mosque*—after or even during Friday prayers. This, too, is very, very common—where Muslim mobs go on a rampage against the Kuffar after being whipped up by the local Imam.

From context, I would assume that Qari Saifullah is the Mosque's Imam. And here he is, urging the faithful to *murder a peaceful man in cold blood*.

Which is worse—a police force that agrees with the mob, or a police force so cowed by the mob that they file a death penalty case on their behalf? (this is, of course, a rhetorical question).

So true hence why it would be so stupid to get rid of Bashar Al Assad because we all know what will replace him will be an insane and genocidal Islamic theocracy. Just let the Muslim world suffer under dictatorships we should not be promoting democracy to Muslims until they renounce Islam once and for all.

Small correction to the above, re. our western media.

One of the images included *was* from CNN, so it appears that *something* has seeped out.

The British Pakistani Christian Association just held a protest.

Perhaps it's time - now that this particular assault upon Christians in Pakistan has actually gotten some airtime in the MSM - for the Resistance in the US to hold a rally outside the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, too?..followed by a march to the White House.
