We ex-Muslims living with Islam's formal and informal death penalty for apostasy know that the cruel cult of Mohammedanism is the most intolerant ideology ever devised by man.

The Libyan Muslims want a strictly Islamic North Africa. And they want full Sharia. They are merely continuing the evil legacy their murderous prophet in wanting to expel Jews and Christians.

Hadith, Sahih Muslim, Book 019, Number 436:

It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattab that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

Or are these ongoing reports an indication that post-Gaddafi Libya is simply becoming increasingly intolerant of any Christian presence?,

More of the poisonous fruits of the "Arab Spring". And yet, even now, many in the West continue to believe that this was some sort of mass democratization movement, and horrors like the above are either considered small roadbumps on the way for Muslim nations becoming Denmark or Canada, or else they are overlooked entirely.

And now we are poised to bring the same "benefits" to the Christians of Syria. Good God...

Yes—because under Shari'ah, no religion is allowed to proselytize except for Islam.

And note: when we think of "proselytizing", we tend to think of over-eager believers out in the streets or going door-to-door with tracts and a hard sell. But in Dar-al-Islam, merely *refusing to convert to Islam* can be seen as "proselytizing"—as can running a charity, which might make Muslims by contrast "look bad".

Last week’s news of four Christian missionaries in Libya placed under arrest, possibly facing the death penalty for “proselytizing,” is apparently the tip of the iceberg. Yesterday, Arabic media reported that over 100 Christian Copts from Egypt, who have been living and working in Libya, were recently arrested in Ben Ghazi—also on the accusation, or pretext, of being “Christian missionaries.”

Yes. Appalling as it is to find missionaries arrested and persecuted, it is very doubtful that *any* of these Christian Copts—who are used to keeping a low profile for their own safety around aggressive Muslims—can actually be considered any sort of missionaries at all.

This is just another excuse for Muslims to persecute Christians.

One video, apparently made by the Libyan militia interrogators—most of whom look like Islamic Salafis, with long beards and clipped mustaches—appeared on the Internet yesterday. It shows a room full of detained Copts. They sit hunched over on the floor—with all their hair shaven off, looking like dejected, or doomed, concentration camp prisoners. According to one source, many of these Copts have been tortured. Some have had the famous Coptic cross often tattooed on the wrists of Copts burned off with acid.

That tattooed cross is intended as a safeguard against Copts being forcibly converted to Islam. Muslims don't like such assertions of Christianity, and are willing to use any degree of savagery to thwart it.

Surely the latter. Libya is well on its way to becoming a full Shari'ah state—and this is part of that.

Are these "Salafists" official actors on the part of Libya, or just "free-lance" enforcers of Shari'ah? Surely for their Christian victims this hardly matters...
