Authorities circulate photos of two men spotted carrying bags near site of Boston bombings

SECOND UPDATE: “I didn’t do it!”

UPDATE: Gawker and CBS’s John Miller say that these aren’t the guys, although Gawker’s case is that one of them is a high school track runner, which hardly means that he couldn’t be a jihadi. In any case, this is yet more of the weird and confusing element of this case. They’re going to announce an arrest, they’re not going to announce an arrest, these are the guys, these are not the guys — it’s the Keystone Kops or a growing coverup.

“Authorities know the names of the two men, but do not have enough evidence to make an arrest for Monday”s attack.”

“Authorities circulate photos of two men spotted carrying bags near site of Boston bombings,” by Larry Celona, Brad Hamilton and Jamie Schram for the New York Post, April 18 (thanks to Andrew Bostom):

Cops are seeking these two men (above) who were spotted near the site of the Boston blasts.

Investigators probing the deadly Boston Marathon bombings are circulating photos of two men spotted chatting near the packed finish line, The Post has learned.

In the photos being distributed by law-enforcement officials among themselves, one of the men is carrying a blue duffel bag. The other is wearing a black backpack in the first photo, taken at 10:53 a.m., but it is not visible in the second, taken at 12:30 p.m.

“The attached photos are being circulated in an attempt to identify the individuals highlighted therein,” said an e-mail obtained by The Post. “Feel free to pass this around to any of your fellow agents elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, officials have identified two potential suspects who were captured on surveillance videos taken shortly before the deadly blasts, law-enforcement sources told The Post yesterday.

Authorities know the names of the two men, but do not have enough evidence to make an arrest for Monday”s attack, which killed three and wounded 176, the sources said….

The Mail has a lot of photo’s of these guys and others…It’s interesting that one photo shows the guy wearing an ear phone bud…another on a cell phone..Why would he have an ear bud and a cell phone? Listening to music maybe, or orders from headquarters?

OK, let’s do this again, in case there’s any confusion:

You can clearly see the same two men with the suspicious, heavy “sagging” bags as described by authorities at this link (scroll down):

    Look like middle-easterners to me.

Reddit has been running a sub section for submiting and examining photos and 4chan (some might might have “over 9000″ reasons for not wanting to hear of them again) are doing similar called 4chan thinktank.

Reddit is adamant that it’s for speculation only and to bring things to the attention of the FBI. They are furious that some people have plastered the a few of the images on FB because everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

It should be no surprise that some probable Salon fans siezed upon the one image of a middle aged white man and plastered it all over FB. Reddit is extremely angry about that.

The two men in matching khakis with earphones and backpacks are thought to be military or private contractors. One of the images of them is from AFTER the boming and they appear to have logos on their hats and backpacks that looks like emblams signlifying navy seals or Blackwater private contractors.

Of the two in this image there is another photo (can’t recall where now) superimposed over an image of the area post bombing and they were standing just a few feet away from the blast. So yeah, they gots som splanin to do.

some people are syaing track suit is innocent because he’s local – but we all know that’s meaningless when it comes to terrorism. Anyone can sign up to reddit in a second so the person who made that statment could be anyone – so it’s meaningless.

Reddit is discouraging further speculation because the FBI is now aware of them.

There’s also a lot of what we would recognise as trolling (but all in proper english as is common on social sites). Lots of statements with the motivation of inhibiting the continuation of the process.

    Have they been ‘deported’ yet?

Notice all the attention given to the ricin guy (no one died) but there was a virtual news blackout last night on Boston.

    Disheartening to say the least.

they look distinctly North African. No ME, not Arabs. Tunisia, Algeria. AQIM maybe operating outside Africa for the first time.

Let’s see, they had a Saudi student whose family/clan is steeped in Al Qaeda connections,
next to the bomb blast, acting suspiciously beforehand which is why he was tackled (Doesn’t Look Right test) fleeing the scene… in photos with two other Saudi students at the Marathon…under guard in the hospital, named as a person of interest, apartment ransacked..then declared innocent of any wrongdoing (after John Kerry meets behind closed doors with the Saudis) and now being deported NEXT WEEK on National Security Grounds back to the Kingdom…while no one has yet been arrested, the case is still unsolved, and it looks like the FBI is relying on the public to solve this for them (or someone wants it never to be solved). What are the National Security Grounds for deporting Al-Harbi?

Smoke Color Is Key Clue to Analyzing Boston Marathon Bombs

The color provides important insights into the type of explosive used in the blasts, which President Obama on Tuesday characterized as “an act of terrorism.” Michael Marks has been watching those plumes as he views the photos and videos of the Boston Marathon attack. Marks retired from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in August after analyzing bombings across the Mideast, including the 2000 attack on the USS Cole. The smoke color isn’t clear, but the signals it sends are important.

Analyzing the color of the smoke can provide information about the explosive that powered the bombs, which in turn provides clues about its sophistication ” and, possibly, that of the people who made it. Such insights will be key for the inquiry, one of many pieces of evidence considered during the forensic analysis by investigators. Different chemical compositions, when subjected to heat and pressure, produce the different colors of smoke.

Great link of surveillance photos, CGW …thank you!

There’s some information that they are National Guard CST. Supposedly, they behaved as such after the blast (appropriate on-site activities – checking under bleachers for additional bags, putting up tape, etc.).

Re: guys in matching khakis. There are zoomed in images of them but I saw a zoomed out image and it turns out to be after the blast and they’re standing in the middle of the street away from everyone where they were sticking out like godzilla’s sore thumb.

Ah, these aren’t the exact image I saw but it shows them standing around the post bombing and other guys dressed the same way. Turns out they are National Guard Civil Support Team.

The khakis, (white) guys can be ruled out by the following two observations:
    1) notice the indentation on the shoulders caused by thier respective back packs: They indicated a light load pressing not too heavily on their jackets, ie; shoulder padding material.
    2) Their stance compared to the North African subjects is appropriately at ease, even if they where on assingment. Whereas the two obvious mohamadeans have a more closed in and rigid structure natural to any one carrying a 20-30 lb load. Video will nail this as well, their gait will be straight and their torso will have minimal rotations.

The balding white is also less likely to be carrieng anytime of “operation”, yes he does have that sakinkky lookk but his eyes look more medicated and sleepy than the andrenalized psycho.

I made the same mistake of clicking on “stanley’s” link.

I noticed right away that most of the comments are comments from this JW article under different monikers.

The one original comment allegedly clearing “the guy in blue” is a the same comment made by one “oops” over on reddit.

Methinks “stanly” is a jihadist or leftist dhimmi lapdog providing us “islamophobes” with a buggy link.

    Running a virus scan as I type…

Stupid chick…NEVER click on links provided by mohammadan supremacists, their dhimmi lapdogs or first time posters like “stanley.”
