Islamic jihadists murder two teenage boys with bomb near busy shopping area in Dagestan

This is the handiwork of the ideological kin of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev — not that the jihad in Dagestan is unique. The trail of blood encompasses the entire world. “Bomb in Russia’s Dagestan Kills 2,” from the Associated Press, May 1 (thanks to Lookmann):

MAKHACHKALA, Russia (AP) “” A bomb exploded Wednesday in a busy shopping area in the capital of the restive republic of Dagestan, killing at least two people, police said.

The bomb went off when two teenage boys tried to open a cardboard box left near a store and both of them were killed, police said.

The explosion in Makhachkala also wounded an undetermined number of people, said a spokeswoman for the republic’s Interior Ministry, Fatina Ubaidatova. She did not have details on the force or construction of the bomb.

Dagestan is plagued by Islamic insurgents who frequently mount small attacks on police and security forces, with bombs often placed in cars or along roads. Wednesday’s explosion, however, was unusual in that the target was not clear….

Quick and dirty geography lesson on Dagestan.

    Just under 3 million people.

Water frontage on the Caspian Sea.

    its name means ‘Mountain Country’.

Originally, the people here, or some of them, became Christians, in the 4th through 6th centuries.

Then the Jihad overwhelmed them and by the 15th century they had bee Islamised.

As for religion today, in the wake of Tsarist and then Soviet eras:

“According to a 2012 official survey 83% of the population of Dagestan adheres to Islam, 2.4% to the Russian Orthodox Church, 2% to Caucasian Neopaganism, 1% are unaffiliated generic Christians.

“In addition, 9% of the population declares to be “spiritual but not religious”, 2% is atheist and 0.6% follows other religions or did not answer to the question”.

So: 83 percent Muslim of some description and degree, 3.4 percent Christian, 2 percent pagan, 2 percent atheist, and about 9 percent avoiding the issue.

83 percent Muslim = Trouble. Especially, sooner or later, *big* trouble, for anyone who isn’t and for anyone who wants to *leave* the Mohammedan Mob and try something else.

Dagestan has at least one modern Christian martyr, an apostate from Islam who had become a Pentecostal Christian and a pastor.

From the same source as above:

“July 15, 2010, Pastor Artur Suleimanov, a Muslim convert to Christianity, was murdered by a gunman.

“The pastor was killed in his car as he was leaving the Hosanna House of Prayer in Makhachkala, Dagestan in the North Caucasus region, according to a religious persecution watchdog group, Voice of the Martyrs, report.

“Pastor Suleimanov’s church is one of the largest Protestant churches in Dagestan.

“Christians in the Russian Republic of Dagestan, which borders Chechnya, face harassment and intimidation from various groups. Pastor Suleimanov’s life had been threatened on several previous occasions”.
