New Zealand Prime Minister: Al Qaeda training has taken place here

And in response, the Leftists — true to form all over the world — accuse him of “using politics of fear.” They can only keep up that kind of nonsense by pretending that the jihad really isn’t rampant all over the world — hence the routine media obfuscations and denial about the actual nature of jihad activity.

“Al Qaeda training has happened in NZ – John Key,” from ONE News, August 1 (thanks to Liam):

Prime Minister John Key says there are people with connections to the Al Qaeda militant group who have trained in New Zealand.

In an interview with radio station More FM this morning, Mr Key justified proposed changes to the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) Bill by saying that he is aware of al Qaeda operatives in New Zealand who have been trained in overseas camps.

“In the real world, in New Zealand, there are people who have been trained in al Qaeda camps, who operate out of New Zealand, who are in contact with people overseas, who have gone off to Yemen and other countries to train,” he said.

However, Mr Key changed tack in another interview this afternoon, saying that he knows of people who have trained for the militant group in New Zealand and “gone off to those camps” in places like Yemen.

“That is just the way things are,” he said. “We live in a global environment where there are real threats, that’s the point we make with the GCSB legislation, it is why Helen Clark passed the legislation in 2003.”

Mr Key would not reveal how many people were involved in such activities, or their names, but said some of them could be New Zealand citizens.

“It is obviously small numbers but there are small numbers of radicalised New Zealanders, who have either gone over into those environments or returned, and I don’t think this is terribly new, I suspect Helen Clark would have signed warrants as well,” he said.

He would not clarify whether or not those being monitored were currently in New Zealand.

“One or two might be, but others are off shore. I can’t share those numbers. Some are still offshore and some are in New Zealand,” he said.

“While it is very narrow and very small in number, the facts of life are that New Zealand is not immune to those potential risks.”

Mr Key added that those being monitored had not necessarily broken the law.

“We monitor that behaviour…. they haven’t necessarily breached the law,” he said. “There are warrants on people, that I’ve signed, who are currently in Yemen.”

“The fact that someone might have a link might be the sort of reason why the government raises a warrant to observe their behaviour. It does not necessarily mean that they have broken the law at this point,” Mr Key explained.

He also said Rebecca Kitteridge’s report into compliance at the GCSB showed that “broadly 88 times” under the previous government or this government, assistance was provided to “other agencies over a 10 year period”.

In response to claims, Green Party Co-leader Dr Russel Norman said that he thinks Mr Key is trying to frighten the New Zealand public.

“John Key is using politics of fear to justify a law change that will give the GCSB, a foreign intelligence gathering agency, extensive powers to spy on New Zealanders,” he said.

“The reality is that our agencies were able to identify and monitor people of concern under the current law. Key’s example shows that New Zealand’s spy agencies are doing their job; it does not demonstrate any gaping hole in our law that needs to be changed.”

Well there only has to be a ‘small number’ of radicalised Muslims (why don’t politicians name this radical group?) to create violence and death. New Zealand has yet to wake up to the large number of immigrants it has allowed into the country, many supposedly to attend university courses. The numbers of resident Muslims may not seem great at 40,000 but already mosque building has started and schools and maddrassars established. The total number of Kiwis is just over 4 million so NZ is ripe for a Muslim invasion before the residents wake up to what is happening.

I heard this on the National Radio station (think BBC) here in NZ today where it was discussed. The consensus seemed to be that this a ruse to back up our government’s desire to tighten monitoring of us all. They “clever & informed” commentators were unaware that over 200 Australian Muslims and several Fijian Muslims have been to Syria for the jihad against Assad; so what precisely makes New Zealand immune – something in the water perhaps? Fiji is only 7% Muslim but there are Muslims in key positions in its military (funny that). I passed this information on to the radio station but as far as I know it never went to air.

Having said that, a lot of us are concerned about government over-reach & invasion of privacy, I think there’s a real issue here. There is a high level of ignorance on real threats though so its hard to have an informed discussion as its either “there’s no threat” or “if you’re not doing anything wrong you’ve nothing to worry about the total invasion of your privacy”. Little room for a sensible approach with responsible measures & appropriate oversight… politicians are playing politics. I’m sure this sounds familiar.

Amd this is why I stopped voting Green long ago, after the Green Movement had been absorbed by the Ultra-left.

Advice from across the Ditch, to my neighbours and allies who put the NZ in ANZAC.

A good rule of thumb is that any politician who is prepared to show support – real support – for Israel is likely to also be educable about Jihad.

So when you’re looking to identify politicians who *might* potentially stand up to Muslims, and resist jihad…start with the Friends of Zion.

it’s not guaranteed, but it gives you somewhere to start looking, and educating.

further advice: if you don’t already know about a guy called Gavin Boby in the UK, who has created the ‘Law and Freedom Foundation’, sometimes vulgarly called ‘Mosquebusters’, look him up. And start thinking about his ‘think *locally*’ approach might be transposed or translated into the NZ situation.

Further advice is that you might amuse yourself figuring out a name for your counterjihad organisation that goes nicely into Maori. And if you can, get somebody to subtitle/ dub ‘Fitna’ into Maori. Make sure that Maori are told that Islam forbids the eating of pig (which should be a BIG turnoff for any Polynesian worth their salt) and hates dogs, and that the sharia of Islam forbids the sculpted or painted representation of living beings (whether real or mythical) and ..**forbids music**.

I have no doubt that jihadi training is taking place in many free western countries. It doesn’t take much.

    A) join a gun club and learn to shoot.

    B) tackle and master an obstacle course, often available in a local park.

    C) train in a martial art.

    D) listen to your local imam.

You’re dead right that they won’t mention JIM (Jihad, Islam or Muslim). I was amused by the PM managing to discuss “Radicalisation” but refusing to say to what? Jainism? Badminton? We’re just supposed to know – somehow! – “SSsshhh! you know what” has happened again…

get hold of Sam Solomon’s book ‘Al-Hijra: The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration’. Read it and reread it and then lend it around.

    Reviewed and nicely summarised here:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/08/the_hijra.html

And give a copy of it to your MP. And a copy to the Prime Minister..and the Leader of the Opposition. Shock treatment.

They will not be able to say they were not warned.

Two other useful things to share with politicians, are the Barnabas Fund booklet on Sharia, entitled ‘What is Shari’a?’ – it’s *perfect* as a background briefing for busy people, nice and short and not too academic – and Patrick Sookhdeo’s slim booklet on Sharia Finance “Understanding Shari’a Finance: The Muslim Challenge to Western Economics” (which includes a warning that the shari’a finance system can function as a way of ‘laundering’ money for jihad terror gangs).

Give the book on sharia finance to your national Treasurer, and to his Shadow on the Opposition bench. Then they cannot say they were not warned.

Another good book for reference use is the Australian anthology edited by David Claydon – ‘Islam, Human Rights and Public Policy’. It has a wonderful set of essays including a couple by Mark Durie. If you identify any politician – whether in power, or aspiring to politics – who shows signs of being willing to say No to Muslims; give him a copy.

None of these books is expensive.

Point out to your politicians – and everyone else – that the more Muslims there are in any society, the more jihad there will be; this is a simple, observable fact. Also point out that there is *no* Muslim country anywhere in the world, where non-Muslims can be said to be truly free or safe. The acid test of any group is how they behave to others when they have power over them; it’s the old adage of judging a man’s character not by how he treats his equals or superiors, but by how he treats his servants/ his social inferiors. Muslims do not pass that test; they may ‘play nice’ and claim victimhood when they are in a small minority, but the moment they have power, considered as a gestalt, they become Abusers.

The only reason NZ has had so few jihadists and jihad-type ‘incidents’ as yet, is that at present NZ only has a small Mohammedan colony, both in absolute numbers and as a percentage of total population.

If NZ were to simply stop admitting any more Muslims, and not give citizenship to any Mohammedans already present who don’t yet have it, they could probably avoid a LOT of grief further down the track.

Ha this has happened to me any number of times over the weeks.
Very disheartening when I’ve put real thoughtful effort into a post.
I’ve often suspected interference, but not held onto the idea as it feels a bit paranoid

On to New Zealand. The government had better get legislatively tough on anti new zealand, antisocial behaviour, and “undesirable aliens”, BEFORE these aliens with no claim get a legal or numbers foothold.
I live next door. We’ve got a damned federal minister who just swore in to parliament on the hideous Koran. ” I can’t help who I am” was his sounding helpless plea. Pathetic. That’ll be his plea when he’s selling Australians out.
I’m tellin you all , this is the thin end of the wedge in this region.

Sympathies Tommo. Here I am, trying to post yet again after my last effort has just vanished after clicking the submit button.
It has happened to me any number times over the weeks, and it has seemed at times too much effort to rewrite.
It has also been very tempting to suspect interference, but I have made effort to resist that as an idea, as it feels a bit paranoid. Maybe just a techno glitch I reassure myself.

To the matter at hand. Why is the NZ prime minister so apparently accepting, and so casually admitting to these activities in NZ??? WTH??
This is not the Boy Scouts you dick head.!!!!
Get with global affairs. Get with the facts and intentions of Islam.
Do you even know the agenda of al quaida??
Anything short of such attention to current affairs and facts, is dereliction of responsibility and duty to the electing public.
