Last Friday I posted here about a pair of interviews I did for Voice of Russia. One was a debate of sorts with an Islamic supremacist spokesman, MPACUK’s Asghar Bukhari — although it wasn’t a proper debate, as he was given twice as much time as I was and was allowed to finish his points while I was repeatedly interrupted. Bukhari was so pleased with his exercise in name-calling and enjoyment of the benefits of media bias that he posted the exchange at YouTube with the title, “Islamophobe Robert Spencer destroyed by MPACUK’s Asghar Bukhari in live debate on Islam & Terrorism,” complete with an eight- or ten-year photo of me in a CBN interview, with the clear implication that I am a wild-eyed Christian “extremist.” The only problem with all this good fun is that Bukhari didn’t even come close to destroying me, as many of the commenters on that YouTube entry have already noted.
Anyway, even Voice of Russia was embarrassed by the naked bias of their presenter Brendan Cole, so they invited me back on the next day for a one-on-one with another one of their “journalists,” Rob Sachs. Sachs spent the entire interview, which is above, trying to portray Judaism and Christianity as just as likely to inspire violence as Islam, and I spent the entire interview trying to tell him some truths. Anyway, when I linked that video last Friday, it was called something like “Islam Expert Blames Quran for Inciting Terror.” But Jihad Watch reader James pointed out to me this morning that the title has now been changed to “Hate speech anyone? Ideologue Blames Quran for Inciting Terror.” (And they’re flagging as spam comments left in my favor, although one I left there under my YouTube account, JihadWatchTV, is still there.)
Did Sachs and I discuss whether it was “hate speech” to examine whether there is anything about Islam that inspires violence? We did not. Was there anything actually hateful in anything I said? Play the audio and judge for yourself. Voice of Russia, in changing its headline days after the fact, reveals that it is not a news service, but a propaganda organization carrying water for the global jihad — like so many others.
