Senator Dianne Feinstein: U.S. “not safer today” because “terror is up worldwide”

feinstein.jpg

She said that reason for this was that there were “more groups, more fundamentalist, more jihadist, more determined to kill to get to where they want to get.” It was refreshing that she said “jihadist,” and I expect that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will duly rebuke her for that and demand an apology, which they will probably get. They are no doubt reassured, however, that she did not note one of the chief causes for this increase in jihad terror activity: the craven willful ignorance on the part of government and law enforcement officials, who have jumped to do Hamas-linked CAIR’s bidding and forbid themselves to study the motives and goals of those who have vowed to destroy us. No wonder they’re more emboldened than ever.

“Feinstein: America is less safe from terrorism,” by S.A. Miller for the New York Post, December 1:

WASHINGTON — The heads of Congress” intelligence committees warned Sunday that America is less safe from terrorism today than it has been in recent years.

The dire warning came from both sides of the aisle, with Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) agreeing that the threat is worse.

“Terror is up worldwide. The statistics indicate that,” Feinstein declared on CNN”s “State of the Union.”

“The fatalities are way up. “¦ There are new bombs, very big bombs “” trucks being reinforced for those bombs,” she said. “There are bombs that go through magnetometers. The bomb maker is still alive. There are more groups than ever. And there is huge malevolence out there.”

She said the threat to the US has grown with the rise of “more groups, more fundamentalist, more jihadist, more determined to kill to get to where they want to get.”…

    >”more groups, more fundamentalist, more jihadist, more determined to kill to get to where they want to get.” <
    The only terrorist in this group are jihadis!! BTW, who are ” more groups, more fundamentalists,” These must be Christians, Jews or Hindus and Buddhists to be lumped with jihadis or CAIR would be crying foul!! Morons, these people(our leaders) can’t be truthful for once in their life. They have to demonize others because they can’t specifically says Muslims are the only one responsible for increased terrorism in the world and everybody is at risk because of them!!1

  2. says

    Yes, and on the other hand she want’s to take your guns so you will be unable to protect yourself from the terrorists she is worried about.

  3. says

    Once in a great while between the drivel or worse commentary she makes, she actually shows some American Patriot blood. This being one of those far too few times.

    That northern border porosity has been on my mind as a liability for many years, especially since 9/11. We are now under assault, nothing new in the 1400 hundred years of the raping and pillaging gang of thieves, hate and bigotry. It’s what they do, what evil always does. This would be an excellent use of drones, and special equipped personnel.

    Robert of course made his usual incisive and concise analysis of the facts. To me DiFi has the potential to grow up to be a true full time American Patriot, if she too would thoroughly study and report openly on the crux of the matter to “study the motives and goals of those who have vowed to destroy us.” I expect she will take a long time if ever to become a full time American Patriot, but she seems to have that spark, I think from seeing her occasional intelligent remarks. She would have the potential to be a great help to America if she did so. To dream, at this point, I’m afraid.

    May all have a Happy Hannuka, and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,in spite of these difficult times. May all who may, find inspiration from the Israelites victory, and the lessons of Jesus being.

    We all will need them all-inspiration and lessons.

  4. says

    Don’t you dare investigate the ideology that fuels this savagery. That would be “hateful” and “extremist.”

    Diane Finestine didn’t say it but she should have…but alas she’s a Democrat on Obamas team…

  5. says

    A claim by Islamic scholars as well as jihadists is that no one can produce something as beautiful as the Quran in the way the words are arranged and thus it can only be of God. This claim should be answered.
    First, all someone has to do is examine some of the great works of literature to fine much written beauty. Such as the Greek epic poet Homer with his Iliad and Odyssey and then Virgil who produced the Aeneid has beauty. Even one of the non-Bible books in the Apocrypha called The Song of Three Children is also very beautiful. Thus just because someone sees a work that is written in great beauty doesn’t mean it’s inspired by God.
    Second, the scholar Edward Gibbon wrote after an examination of the Quran that it is an “incoherent jumble of fable and precept and declamation which seldom excites a sentiment or an idea, sometimes craws in the dust and is sometimes lost in the clouds…” The writer Thomas Carlyle wrote the Quran is “A wearisome jumble, crude, incondite [with] endless iterations [and] longwindedness…” Likewise, the philosopher David Hume was NOT favorably impressed after reading the Quran.
    [Source of the three scholars mentioned – Secrets of The Koran: Revealing Insight Into Islam’s Holy Book .56,66, by Don Richardson]

    Furthermore, the following should be taken into consideration.

    Of course the Muslim who reads the Quran will see great beauty in the way the words are arranged. This is, in part, because of the power of suggestion after being told so many times that the Quran is so beautifully written. That’s an old brainwashing method, repeating and being told that same thing again and again. Since he or she is always being told the same lie will end up believing that lie. In addition to that, the Imams try to discourage their people from reading other works, such as the Bible, so then they don’t have much or anything to compare or contrast the Quran with. Of course there are some Muslim’s that do read other works, but they are exceptions and they read other things only after they were already brainwashed by the Imams. In short, the Muslims can’t read the Quran objectively because their Imams have programmed them to have a strong bias towards it.

  6. says

    Dear leader will not be pleased with her, that’s not the lie she was supposed to have spun, how dare she tell an obvious truth!

  7. says

    She is describing the O-Effect.

    The weak horse Barack Obama invites his own flavor of chaos.

    So O-chaos it is.

    Which she will never examine, and is therefore a Beau Geste soldier.

    Dead on the parapets.

  8. says

    Politicians are always pointing out problems ,when WE know perfectly well what the problems are. What they are paid to do is find solutions…which they never can, especially this problem.

  9. says

    DiFi has broken ranks with Barak Hussein ?

    There may be hope that the Dems will wake up to the magnitude and reality of the threat and stop DENYING it exists.

  10. says

    Terror is up worldwide. The statistics indicate that…

    Funny, the TV set doesn’t indicate that, nor do the newspapers. Heck, even “just taking care of the folks” uber RINO Bill O’Reilly doesn’t indicate that. So why should we believe DiFi? Maybe she’s just stirring up trouble to deflect attention from ObamaCare.

  11. says

    It was refreshing that she said “jihadist,” and I expect that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will duly rebuke her for that and demand an apology, which they will probably get.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I agree, Robert. But I Hope she shows some courage and not offer an apology.
    Tsk, tsk! Apparently Feinstein didn’t read the memo from obama that we are not at war with islam–which is rubbish!
  12. says
    Feinstein is full of it. Exactly who has enabled, funded, and armed Muslim terrorist groups in places such as Syria and Libya? That would be Mrs. Feinstein and her colleagues in Washington. Who enabled the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and then stood silent when they targeted Coptic Christians with violence and terror? Again, the answer remains the same.
    Feinstein and her ilk only use the “the world is not safer today” claptrap when they want to gain even more power for Mordor on the Potomac.
  13. says
    If you asked Feinstein, Bush or Obama if they still believe that Islam is a religion of peace they’d still answer in the affirmative. They’d go on and on about how “Most Muslims are like you and me: they simply want to live in peace” — blah blah blah. True leadership involves acting upon events which have already happened to prepare for the future, like Churchill did:
    M. E. Berume, on Winston Churchill:
    “Throughout the thirties, in fact, from as early as 1933, he warned his countrymen about Hitler. In this period, he was scorned and mocked by his own party; he was called a warmonger, an anachronism from another age; indeed, it was not uncommon for detractors to question his sanity.”
    We need politicians who speak like Robert or Pamela.
  14. says
    Y’know, I wonder whether these statements from Feinstein and Rogers are an indication that ACT for America’s patient non-stop lobbying of American politicians is beginning – just *beginning* – to take effect?
    I don’t think it’d hurt for American jihadwatchers to write to *both* Feinsten and Rogers, express agreement, and, well, attempt – *try* to be polite – to push them a little further down the road toward Full Awful Realization.
    If you feel like giving them Shock Treatment, send them – with a short covering note – a printed-off copy of Conor Cruise O’Brien’s hard-hitting article from 1995, “The Lesson of Algeria: Islam is Indivisible”.
    http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/the-lesson-of-algeria-islam-is-indivisible-1566770.html
    CONOR CRUISE O’BRIEN
    Friday 6 January 1995
    The lesson of Algeria: Islam is indivisible
    Here’s how it begins: and it reads like a description of world affairs *today*, not from 18 years ago:
    “Fundamentalist Islam” is a misnomer which dulls our perceptions in a dangerous way.
    ‘It does so by implying that there is some other kind of Islam, which is well disposed to those who reject the Koran.
    ‘There isn’t.
    ‘Islam is a universalist, triumphalist and political religion. It claims de jure dominion over all humanity; that is God’s will.
    ‘The actual state of affairs, with unbelievers of various sorts dominating most of the world, is a suspension of God’s [sic: Allah’s – dda] will and a scandal to the faithful. The world is divided between the House of Islam and the House of War, meaning the rest of us.
    ‘For more than two centuries now, the House of War has been in the ascendant, and the House of Islam has been abased.
    ‘The remedy for this unnatural and intolerable state of affairs is jihad.
    ‘Jihad is defined as “the religious duty imposed on all Muslims to wage war upon those who do not accept the doctrines of Islam”.
    ‘The Prophet Mohamed himself not merely preached but waged jihad. God’s word [sic: allah’s word – dda], dictated to the Prophet and preached by him, is binding on all Muslims, and his example is their inspiration.
    ‘In the glorious centuries of expansion, the jihad carried Islam from Arabia, to the west as far as the Atlantic; to the north as far as Vienna; to the south as far as the Sahara and down the east coast of Africa to Madagascar; and to the east across Persia and the Indian subcontinent into part of China and Indonesia.
    ‘**What is going on today in the Muslim world is not the advent of some aberrant thing called Islamic fundamentalism but a revival of Islam itself – the real thing – which Western ascendancy and Westernised post-Muslim elites no longer have the capacity to muffle and control. The jihad is back.** {my emphasis – dda}.
    “The jihad is at present raging in many parts of the world and shaking many westernised and westernising regimes (and many Russified and Russifying ones as well)..”.
    “All the great religions are the same” is the idea.
    ‘Only they aren’t.
    ‘The Clintonian world view observes [sic: probably “obscures’] the hard specificity of Islam.
    ‘The Prophet Mohamed did not offer his followers a chance to live in harmony with their neighbours.
    ‘He taught them to fight their neighbours, if they were unbelievers, and kill them or beat them into submission.
    ‘And it is futile to say of those Muslims who faithfully follow those
    teachings today that their actions are “not intrinsically related to Islam”….
  15. says
    Nice comment, WS. And too, the ponderous repetitive nature of the hateful and troubled mentality of the koran, is prima facae evidence of a disturbed vengeful corrupted man made origin, not that of a supposedly omniscient god.
  16. says
    Since he or she is always being told the same lie will end up believing that lie.
    Sounds like modern politics. In fact, it *is* modern politics.
    From the Holy Islam to the CIA’s Big Lie to modern Fictive Reality, where a fake fact is so widely accepted that it may as well be true.
    The better the delivery media, the bigger the fictive reality. TV, the Internet, radio, these are powerful tools for a people to fool themselves with great power.
  17. says
    “What they are paid to do is find solutions…which they never can, especially this problem.”
    Oh, she and her fellow left-wingers have a solution: have the government spend more money on the problem. That’s the standard leftist solution to any problem. They never realize that this seldom solves anything.
  18. says
    I took that remark to mean “It’s global, and you know, what is global we cannot change and take no responsibilty for, but I thought I’d mention it so you know that WE know.”
    Unspoken message: “we are not going to pursue this any further than offerring a grave warning. Have a nice day.”
  19. says
    “So O-chaos it is.
    Which she will never examine, and is therefore a Beau Geste soldier.
    Dead on the parapets.”
    ____________________
    And that comment is dead-on correct.
  20. says
    I think you’ve nailed it.
    What’s happened is that under Obama the United States – still *the* iconic non-Muslim polity, the Byzantium of our times – has been broadcasting weakness and appeasement.
    And as a result the jihad has simply *boiled over*…and not only against the USA or the West, but *everywhere*..in Africa, Russia, China…
    I don’t know what the chances are that somebody with a bit more backbone – somebody like Lt Col Allen West – could make it into the White House. But if, per miraculum, such a one were to do so, and were – say – to simply *obliterate* Iran’s nuke sites WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! without preliminaries..and without explanations or apologies, afterward…within a week of taking office, then I *guarantee* that, *all over the world*, the jihadis – even in the oddest corners of Africa and Central Asia – would suddenly pull in their horns.
  21. says
    “Apparently Feinstein didn’t read the memo from obama that we are not at war with islam–which is rubbish!”
    I’m not sure it’s rubbish. The whole problem is that we are NOT at war with Islam, even though Islam is very much at war with US.
    Bush 43 saw thousands killed in one day on his watch and still believed in ‘the religion of peace’. (Now THAT’s rubbish!)
    Obama is following the lead of recent presidnts – he won’t name Islam as the enemy. Before we can fight a war we need to know our enemy. We’ll never be at war with Islam because that would mean going against a religion other than Christianity. Thomas Jefferson is dead. The Barbary Pirates are ancient, by today’s standards. The threat Islam poses to American freedom cannot be stated openly, lest it offend someone.
    I don’t believe Feinstein would do anything more than spout words. She won’t follow them up with any meaningful action, unless it’s to get more business for California’s military contractors. (What does her husband do? Isn’t he a government contractor?)
  22. says
    Not sure, PMK, but I think it’s Nan Pelosi’s husband who’s the govt. contractor? Perhaps it’s both husbands?
    No matter, though! I look at Feinstein and see Pelosi–and vice-versa. And, the view is not so pretty–in any sense.
    I think you’re right–DiFi is just posing–just a little campaign photo there–as a “concerned lawmaker” for public consumption and future plausible deniability.
    She’d have to acknowledge her own complicity in the problem to come out of the Liberal closet.
    I wouldn’t bet a red cent on that one…
  23. says
    Soo..are we not going to see you posting at jihadwatch anymore?
    Are you going to ceremonially purge your house of *all* those evil modern communication devices (including printed books – the printing press was as much of a ‘force multiplier’ as anything else, for good and for bad ideas) and go and settle among the Amish, or retreat to a mountaintop cave somewhere and become a hermit?
    Because the internet, among other things, makes jihadwatch possible.
    Thanks to the internet Indians, Australians, Israelis, yes, even UK citizens, and Americans and Canadians, can discuss the Jihad that threatens us all; we can compare notes in ‘realtime’.
    Maybe the printing press should never have been invented or, having been invented, should never have been accepted.
    Maybe paper should never have been invented.
    Maybe *writing* should never have been invented.
    ……………………..
    All too true, DDA. As much as I’ve been concerned for my own nation vis-a-vis the Jihad threat with Obama in the White House, I am all too aware that his appeasement and whitewashing of Islam”*far worse*, and more malign, than that of his predecessor”puts the entire world at greater risk. 2016 can’t come soon enough. I just hope my fellow Americans will be less clueless in the voting booth by then.
