California: Jury selection begins in trial of Muslim accused of killing wife whose murder was blamed on “Islamophobia”

This murder was a very big deal for awhile among Leftists and Islamic supremacists, although now (of course) they have forgotten that it ever happened. At the time, because of the note that was found by the body saying “Go back to your country, you terrorist,” the crime was universally reported as being motivated by “Islamophobia,” and the work of an “Islamophobe” who hated Shaima Alawadi for wearing a hijab. They even staged a campaign, “One Million Hijabs for Shaima Alawadi.” When it turned out to be an Islamic honor killing and Shaima’s husband was arrested for the murder, they went silent — with no retractions or apologies, of course.

Stooping lowest, not surprisingly, was current media darling Reza Aslan, who raged in this sub-literate tweet that Pamela Geller and I were responsible for the murder:

Aslanthreat.jpg

(Can you count the errors in that one brief tweet? Remember that Pamela’s last name is Geller, not Gellar. I count four. What a prodigious scholar Reza Aslan is! He is clearly not all that bright, frequently prone to egregious errors of fact, and ignorant of basic grammar and spelling rules, but he tells the PC crowd what they want to hear, and so is feted everywhere.) Anyway, in another tweet, Aslan of course refused to apologize for smearing me for a murder. Classy guy.

The whole “hate crime” aspect of Shaima Alawadi’s murder was staged. It was apparently an Islamic honor killing for which Shaima Alawadi’s husband is now standing trial. Will the Leftists and Islamic supremacists who made so much of the hate crime now stage “One Million Hijabs Against Honor Killing”? Somehow I doubt it.

“Jury selection begins today for El Cajon man accused of fatally beating wife,” from ABC10 News, March 26:

EL CAJON – Jury selection was scheduled to begin Wednesday in the murder trial of an Iraqi man accused of fatally beating his wife in their El Cajon home after she asked for a divorce.

Opening statements in the trial of Kassim Alhimidi are expected to begin next week.

The 49-year-old defendant was arrested on Nov. 8, 2012, by El Cajon police in what was first thought to be a hate crime. His wife, 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi, was found mortally injured with at least six head wounds in their Skyview Street residence on March 21, 2012.

First-responders found a note in the home that read, “This is my country, go back to yours, terrorist.”

The couple’s 18-year-old daughter, Fatima, testified during a preliminary hearing last year that a similar threatening note was found in the family’s home on March 13, 2012, eight days before her mother was attacked.

The daughter testified that her parents started having problems in August 2011. She said her mother — a homemaker — wanted to divorce her father and move to Texas, where her family lived.

The young woman said her father laughed at her mother when she showed him court papers needed to file for a divorce. She testified that her mother would get angry when her father wouldn’t listen to her pleas for a divorce.

The witness said she was home on March 21, 2012, when she heard what she thought was a short “squeal” from her mother. She said she stayed in bed but eventually went to the kitchen to get something to eat and saw her injured mother on the kitchen floor and called 911.

The mother of five died of head injuries in a hospital three days later.

Kassim Alhimidi told police he took his four younger children to school about 7:30 a.m. the day of the attack, came home, then went for a drive around 9:30 a.m.

Fatima testified that it would be unusual for her father to go for a random drive because he was constantly complaining about the price of gas.

Is sophomoric cursing by Reza Aslan a new ‘scholarly’ argument? No, it is normative Islam. Mohammed encouraged his followers to use foul, scurrilous language to confuse and befuddle opponents of supremacism.

Reza Aslan is a crypto-supremacist and fifth columnist who gets paid by the greatest violator of human rights in the world that daily murders its critics in the name of Mohammed. Iran is normative Islam and Aslan is its cheerleader. He is a fifth columnist.

It’s probably more ‘normative leftism’ than ‘normative Islam’. Their usual tactics are to name call instead of debate. Unfortunately, they have created an entire culture of people who believes they are brilliant.

for some one so “learned “as Reza, he has such a vile mouth. Too bad his mother didin’t wash it out with lye soap to stop such words.
Reza should the letter of James in the Bible. He is an excellent example of the tongue being a great evl which sets the whole body on fire and itself (the tongue) is set on fire by HELL!

All Muslims in Western nations are fifth columnists. For most Muslims, loyalty to Islam comes before loyalty to their country. Remember, many Muslims consider the USA to be the Great Satan, and their number one enemy.

I don’t so much care that Reza Aslan is crude—though he is—but that he is an apologist *for evil*.

At least several hundred honor killings occur each year in Iraq and a similar number in Iran (for which Aslan is a cheerleader).

Worldwide, over 5,000 honor killings occur yearly mostly because Sharia law allows parents to murder children and grandchildren. This is easier in a cousin marriage.

    Aslan defends this practice.

    Hey Aslan!
I bet The CNN folks do not know your low-class way of expressing yourself! Your MO is deceit. Never heard in your culture about apologizing when you are wrong!!! I know, I know you would be apologizing all the time.

“The Muslim Brotherhood (now a terrorist organisation like Islam Q3:151, 7:3-4, 8:12, 8:59-60) will have a significant role to play in post-Mubarak Egypt. And that is good thing.”Reza Aslan

… so much for the “current media (dhimmi 9:29 ‘in submission to Allah’) darling Dr. with FOUR degrees (important to mention!) Reza Aslan

The **daughter** ought to be tried, as well.

She was clearly complicit, from the ghastly ham acting of the video where she was pretending to cry, whilst railing against ”islamophobic racists”, to the fact that **she stayed in bed** while knowing her mother was being attacked.

Do they have the death penalty in California ? I sincerely hope so.

      …………………………..

Bill C. is wrong, Mirren—California *does* have the death penalty. It is only used in the most egregious murder cases—and this one might well apply.

Once convicted, though, those on death row often remain there *for decades* as they endlessly appeal.

Still, a death sentence shows how seriously a case is being taken.

I have sometimes mixed feelings about the death penalty, but I think it would be *aptly* applied here.

From the article – “The 49-year-old defendant was arrested on Nov. 8, 2012, by El Cajon police in what was first thought to be a hate crime. His wife, 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi, was found mortally injured …The couple’s 18-year-old daughter, Fatima, testified”.

    Let’s do the sums.

    He’s 49.

His wife was 32 when she was murdered.

    Their eldest daughter is 18.

That means that Shaima Alawadi gave birth to her first child – where? – in Iraq? in the USA? – at the ripe old age of…**fourteen**.

Now, depending on when her birthday is, that could mean that she was impregnated when she was just thirteen. By a man seventeen years older than herself. Thirty, in bed with thirteen. That, of course, assumes that she was married off at thirteen.

Was Fatima, the daughter, born in the USA or in Iraq?

If in the USA, that would mean that this man migrated into the USA with a barely-teen barely-pubescent – and by most US law, under the age of consent?? – girl in tow as his “wife”. I wonder how old she was claimed to be, on whatever paperwork was waved in front of officialdom…and what a good ,thorough medical and dental check might have said about her age, had it been done, back in the day?

    • gravenimage says

DDA, an early article about the case indicated that the girl was brought in as a “niece” of one of the other relatives. I’m not at all sure when the family dropped that deceit and indicated that she was her killer’s wife.

I get the feeling that the poor woman didn’t get out very much, in any case, and that her interactions with decent Infidels was pretty minimal.

I’m sure that those who thought she seemed awfully young to have a daughter just bit their tongues and assumed that she looked younger than she really was. If only…

California: Jury selection begins in trial of Muslim accused of killing wife whose murder was blamed on “Islamophobia”

This murder was a very big deal for awhile among Leftists and Islamic supremacists, although now (of course) they have forgotten that it ever happened.
    …………………………………………

But now that is seems virtually certain that it was just a “run of the mill” Islamic “Honor Killing”, really, who cares? *Sickening*.

    More:

At the time, because of the note that was found by the body saying “Go back to your country, you terrorist,” the crime was universally reported as being motivated by “Islamophobia,” and the work of an “Islamophobe” who hated Shaima Alawadi for wearing a hijab. They even staged a campaign, “One Million Hijabs for Shaima Alawadi.”
    …………………………………………

The cynicism is almost breathtaking—the work of a pedophile (the victims was married off as a child-bride and fraudulently brought into the United States as a “niece”, not a *wife*) and murderer who was happy to use the false “Islamphobia” meme to deflect attention from his having murdered her.

The killer was all too happy to try to blame his wife’s brutal murder on the “filthy Kuffar”, while he could bask in the reflected glow of outraged victimhood. *Ugh*.

And all too many dhimmi tools here were perfectly happy to go along with the killer’s agenda, even taking part in the ludicrous “One Million Hijabs” thing.

    More:

Stooping lowest, not surprisingly, was current media darling Reza Aslan, who raged in this sub-literate tweet that Pamela Geller and I were responsible for the murder:
    …………………………………………

Yes—when what *really* caused this poor woman’s murder were *just* what Anti-Jihadists like Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller warn about—in fact, Ms. Geller has *especially* focused on the hideous phenomenon of Islamic “Honor Killings*.

    Of course not…

    …………………………………………

*Very* common. A Muslim may divorce his wife with impunity; but a request for divorce from a Muslimah is grounds for “Honor Killing”.

    God, I hate Islam.
