The denial is near-total. The governments of the West determinedly insist that every jihad attack has nothing to do with Islam, even when the perpetrators invoke Islamic texts and teachings in order to explain and justify their actions. The FBI has scrubbed all mention of Islam and jihad from counter-terror training materials. The mainstream media portrays jihad attacks as the fault of their victims, and writes handwringing stories about the fear of a “backlash” against innocent Muslims.
Meanwhile, the jihad continues.
“‘China’s 9/11’ Shows Jihadists Now Hitting Soft Targets,” from Investor’s Business Daily, March 4:
Global Jihad: Muslim terrorists hacked to death 29 people and injured 143 at a crowded China train station, but the Western media dismiss the attackers as “separatists” making a “political” statement. Jihad? What jihad?
Over the weekend, a terrorist cell of eight Islamists — six men and two women — traveled hundreds of miles from their home in China’s Muslim province of Xinjiang to serene Kunming to carry out their bloody jihad on innocent civilians.
Dressed in black and armed with knives and machetes, the well-trained terrorists randomly hacked and slashed at the heads and throats of passengers in what the state press is calling “China’s 9/11.”
“Mostly they went for the head and shoulders, those parts of the body to kill,” a terrified student told Reuters.
Yet the Western press can’t quite understand why. It’s called jihad. It’s happening all over the world. And now it’s come to China.
The New York Times, for one, blamed the attack on ethnic hatred in China, expressing sympathy for China’s growing Muslim population who complain of religious oppression.
Missing from the story was the jihadi attack last October that killed five in Tiananmen Square.
All told, Muslims carried out some 200 terrorist attacks inside China last year — and now they’re hitting softer targets, just like here.
“The Western media is indeed contemptuous of the idea that China faces a jihad threat,” said JihadWatch’s Robert Spencer. They’re “just as dismissive of the idea that the West faces a jihad threat.”
Like the terrorists who hacked off the head of a British soldier in broad daylight in London, the Chinese terrorists were following the jihadi commands of their holy book to “smite ye above their necks” and “strike off their heads” when killing the infidels “wherever you find them.”
The same gruesome M.O. was on display in Boston — if only authorities had recognized it for what it was.
Boston Magazine has concluded in a long article timed for the Marathon bombings anniversary that police could have prevented the horrific attacks if they had recognized an earlier triple homicide in a Boston suburb as jihadi terrorism.
On Sept. 11, 2011, the throats of all three victims found in a Waltham condo had been slashed with such force their heads were nearly decapitated. Two of the victims were Jewish, their wounds the kind seen in an al-Qaida snuff video.
Yet police ignored the tell-tale jihadi clues and wrote it off as a drug deal gone bad. But now they’re sure one of the Boston bombers — Tamerlan Tsarnaev — was responsible for one of the bloodiest attacks investigators have ever seen.
Too late now. Tragically, Tsarnaev was never questioned, even though he worked out with one of the victims and was known as a raging Islamist at the gym.
“If police had figured out who hacked three men to death on Sept. 11, 2011,” the magazine lamented, “there’s a good chance we would not be talking about the Boston Marathon bombings.”
Beheadings and throat slashings are the calling card of jihadists. How many more innocent people have to die before we take off the politically correct blinders and see the threat for what it is?
