Robert Spencer in the Daily Caller: The Boston bombing and the “Islamophobia” scam

islamophobia_event_aicIn “The Boston bombing and the ‘Islamophobia’ scam” at the Daily Caller today, I show how the Boston Marathon jihad bombing was the bitter fruit of the ongoing anti-“Islamophobia” witch hunt conducted by the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations and its allied groups. I discuss this at greater length in my book Arab Winter Comes to America: The Truth About We’re In.

When Islamic jihadists set off two bombs last year at the Boston Marathon, murdering three people and wounded 260, maiming some for life, they brought to fruition not only their own plot, but the whole enterprise of making Americans think that there is a big problem of “Islamophobia” in this country. As this grim anniversary of the April 15, 2013 bombings approaches, it is useful to recall what the ongoing drumbeat over “Islamophobia” is really all about: enabling Islamic jihad murder.

The politically correct elites would have us believe that “Islamophobia” — defined as an irrational hatred of Muslims and Islam and attendant discrimination and harassment — is an epidemic in the U.S. St. Louis Public Radio, part of the NPR digital network, reported that “a 2013 report from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) identifies a network of 37 organizations that systematically promote anti-Muslim sentiment in America through prejudice, fear and hatred. CAIR calls it Islamophobia.”

CAIR’s report was just the latest. A steady stream of articles continuously appears about the “Islamophobia” industry, a supposedly well-coordinated, well-funded, unscrupulous and dishonest band of bigots, hatemongers and racists who are doing their utmost to disrupt what would otherwise be a peaceful and harmonious welcoming of Muslims into the United States and other Western nations.

Faizan Syed, executive director of CAIR-St. Louis, articulated this mainstream view:

After September the Eleventh, you would expect there would be a spike in anti-Muslim or anti-Islam attacks in the United States. And that’s what we saw after September the Eleventh. But what’s unique is that after the first few years, those percentage [sic] of attacks actually kept going down and down and decreased. And then in 2008 and 2009, we saw another spike in those biased, motivated attacks. And we’ve seen that height now more than even after September the Eleventh. We feel that part of the bigotry and hatred that exists is not just because it exists. But rather, it is an orchestrated, well-organized, well-funded thought process that is being pushed on the American public.

If it weren’t for the “Islamophobes,” we are told, Americans wouldn’t have the low opinion of Islam that surveys show they do, innocent Muslims would not be victimized, and discrimination against Muslims would be essentially non-existent.

The only problem with this scenario is that every detail of it is false.

Jonathan S. Tobin wrote in Commentary last November that “when it comes to the question of America’s alleged Islamophobia, there is a consensus in the American media: American Muslims have been under siege since the 9/11 attacks.” However:

With the annual release of the FBI’s hate crime numbers, statistical proof is once again available for those who are interested in the real answer as to which groups are subjected to the most attacks … Of the 1,340 incidents of anti-religious hate crimes reported, 674 or 62.4 percent were anti-Jewish in nature. Only 130 incidents or 11.6 percent involved Muslim victims. These figures are not much different from those assembled by the government for previous years. In virtually every year, the number of anti-Semitic incidents is a multiple of those involving Muslims.

No victimization of any innocent person is ever justified. But Muslims are not, by and large, suffering from systemic victimization of the type described by CAIR. Discrimination? Muslims live in a freer society in the U.S., and enjoy more rights, than they do in virtually all Muslim countries. So what is the purpose of all the hysteria about “Islamophobia”?

Its purpose, quite simply, was realized on that sunny spring Monday in Boston last year: its purpose is to enable jihad, to enable the killing of Infidels in the name of Islam. As I explain in detail in my book Arab Winter Comes to America, Islamic supremacist groups like CAIR tar with the “Islamophobe” label anyone who dares to discuss honestly how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify attacks like the one at the Boston Marathon. CAIR and its allies have created the “Islamophobia industry,” which is not the wealthy cabal of their mythmaking but actually a band of people who are working to raise awareness of and build resistance to Islamic jihad terror.

Who could object to that? Not any genuine moderate Muslim – and CAIR shows its true colors with its ongoing smear campaigns against anyone who speaks out about jihad and its Islamic justifications. When CAIR and its cohorts smear those who speak out against jihad and Islamic supremacism as “bigots” and “hatemongers,” they are laying the groundwork for what we saw in Boston. For by demonizing and discrediting anyone and everyone who speaks out against the jihad, they intimidate others into backtracking, apologizing, and looking the other way when they should instead be pressing the Muslim community to address the jihad problem realistically and back up its pro-forma condemnations of terrorism with honest work against the Islamic teachings that jihadists use to justify terror.

The perfect world for the likes of CAIR and the other Islamophobia-mongers would be one in which no one speaks up against jihad violence and Islamic supremacism – for they have never, ever seen a counter-jihadist for whom they had any positive words. They want to render the U.S. and the West in general mute and defenseless before the
advancing jihad.

The jihad attack in Boston last year is the fruit of their work, and the blood is on their hands.

unfortunately the US elites will never learn until (and maybe not even then) a major attack in the name of Allah is carried out with by Islamic fundamentalists with a dirty nuke or biological or chemical weapons in a major US city .
Christianity does NOT allow violence against any one( remember Jesus commanded His followers to LOVE their brothers(members of the church), neighbors( all others we work with or come in contact with) and EVEN OUR ENEMIES!

    • john spielman says

islam allows, even encourages violence against unbelievers as a good work to counter sin for the day of judgment since Allah is incapable of punishing by himself. Hence terror attacks against a wide variety of targets from “apostate” muslims to Christians , Hindus, secularists etc.

      Yes, John.
In Christianity, every person is considered an ikōn, or image of God.
Hence, love of our fellow man equals love of God.

      • anonsos says

Yes, which in turn. If you hurt another human, you are hurting the image of GOD.. If one murders another human, is murdering the image of GOD.. The highest of all crimes after blasphemy.. Murder I think can be considered blasphemy since it’s a crime against GOD..

Tho shall not kill is a commandment.. The Qu’ran seems to have never heard of this commandment.. And neither have the racial Muslims who are just following the teachings of the Qu’ran..

Do onto others as you’d have them do onto you.. I don’t think they have heard Jesus our LORD say this either..

        • Richard Weinberg says

The commandment is NOT “thou shall not kill.” It’s “Thou shall not murder.”

    • Kalliope says

      Thank you, Stephanie.
No religion that can require its members to murder dissenters, even in theory, can be defended.

And yet PC continues to defend the indefensible.

It’s little wonder Aayan Hirsi Ali has an islamic death fatwah on her head, but what’s troubling is that the corrupt, craven a-holes in the enemedia never mention it.

Muslims keep denying the connections between Islam’s foundational texts and jihad and Americans continue to discover them.

Consequently, the credibility of Islam is in freefall and will never be recovered because knowledge of Islam’s unending warfare against disbelievers CAN NEVER BE UNLEARNED!

    • Defcon 4 says

      @Mortimer

Your statement is exactly why islam0nazis are actively trying to outlaw any criticism of islam or its holey prophet.

When CAIR and its cohorts smear those who speak out against jihad and Islamic supremacism as “bigots” and “hatemongers,” they are laying the groundwork for what we saw in Boston.

Hence why Nidal Hasan received positive performance reviews and promotions during his career. And probably why the Fort Hood jihad attack was officially classified as “workplace violence”.

  4. Wellington says

The term “Islamophobia” is as phony as a three-dollar bill. Only fools or the malevolent use it with “sincerity,” done so for purposes of cutting off any criticism of Islam. Anyone, no exceptions, who uses this word as a defense for the Islamic faith deserves to be treated with derision.

By contrast, the term “Islamonausea,” coined by good folk, shrewder folk, is a perfectly good word to describe a justifiable way of looking upon the worst, the most harmful, the most freedom-crushing religion ever created by man. So, and for the record, count me in as a proud “Islamonauseaphile.”

[the link from the second graf RE: the report, includes this:]

The report’s title, “Legislating Fear,” comes in part from the proliferation of bills targeting Islamic religious law in recent years. According to the report, 78 bills with negative implications towards Islamic religious practices were introduced in 29 states between 2011 and 2012. As of 2013, seven states have made these bills into law

seems the Mosque can’t bend (won’t bend) to another law other than the 6,000+ strictures of the SHARIA … not really inspired as it brings not godliness … no concern there for freedoms

supremacists can’t bend … must hold nose high and not be bothered with others’ sensibilities. they only want their SHARIA imposed in order to enslave and make others bend … no concern there for equity

jihadists can’t stand down, can’t bend … they’re ignorant of better ways; their prime example, Muhammad (lately contrived; full of lust) is dead and they have none other to follow.

the covered women can’t veer … they’d better not or be dead

academe won’t bend … greed for tenure is far greater than compassion

it’s not Islamophobia but disgust … can’t legislate disgust

  10. Elise says

CAIR and all Islamic based governments practice Americanculturephobia. They are afraid that their citizens will actually become knowledgeable and literate enough to want freedom, as well as honest, corruption free and self disciplined enough to expect freedom from religious liars. At this time in their ability to be mature freedom loving adults, they have a long way to go. How is it that women in America can walk and work in peace without harassment from men, while women living in Muslim majority countries or Muslim neighborhoods in Europe cannot?

  11. bill says

The Islamists are great believers in Free Speech but not for everyone, only for Muslims and those who support them. They constantly interfere to prevent anyone’s right to Free Speech if it is critical of Islam. Witness the recent Brandeis affair.
    In other words classic dhimmitude.

  12. RonaldB says

I have a slight disagreement with most of the posters.

I don’t believe the goal of the “Islamophobe” industry is to facilitate acts of physical terrorism.

The primary goal of Islam is to spread itself. All other considerations are secondary. Like the AIDS virus, it can kill the host or do any damage, as long as it spreads. It would be fine with the AIDS virus if the host continued to live, as long as the host had sexual or needle-sharing experiences with other people to spread.

Islamic countries are backwards technologically, economically, and in every other way imaginable, so we wrongly attribute a lack of sophistication to Muslims. In fact, Muslims are terribly effective at subverting the mechanisms of government, the more socialistic the better, to facilitate the spread of Islam.

An example of this is the pressure by the European Union on its member countries to maintain open borders, whenever individual countries make motions in the direction of limiting Muslim immigration. Another example is the use of force by the US under President Clinton to force the Bosnian Serbs into submission when they were on the verge of driving out the Bosnian Muslim armies who were attacking the Serb communities.

The real objective of CAIR is to suppress any criticism of Islam and any resistance to the infiltration of Islam into society and the government. Terrorist attacks in the US are collateral damage, and probably represent a nuisance to CAIR and related groups. The nuisance value comes from having to clean up after them, and continue to make sure that the mainstream media and political groups maintain their lethargy towards Islamic advancement.

But, it is more important to CAIR to maintain the silence on the real Islam, than it is to prevent further attacks, and thus, the pressure to suppress knowledge of Islam. But, again the real goal is not the terror attacks, but the continued infiltration of American social and political institutions.

Islam is so specialized in its mechanisms of subversion that the only really effective way to prevent a creeping infiltration is to cut off Muslim immigration completely. Otherwise, the more “moderate” Muslim sects, like the Ismailis and the Ahmadiahs, will build up communities and will add their political pressures to suppressing real discussion of the nature is Islam, even if these sects are not themselves violent.
