In “The Boston bombing and the ‘Islamophobia’ scam” at the Daily Caller today, I show how the Boston Marathon jihad bombing was the bitter fruit of the ongoing anti-“Islamophobia” witch hunt conducted by the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations and its allied groups. I discuss this at greater length in my book Arab Winter Comes to America: The Truth About We’re In.
When Islamic jihadists set off two bombs last year at the Boston Marathon, murdering three people and wounded 260, maiming some for life, they brought to fruition not only their own plot, but the whole enterprise of making Americans think that there is a big problem of “Islamophobia” in this country. As this grim anniversary of the April 15, 2013 bombings approaches, it is useful to recall what the ongoing drumbeat over “Islamophobia” is really all about: enabling Islamic jihad murder.
The politically correct elites would have us believe that “Islamophobia” — defined as an irrational hatred of Muslims and Islam and attendant discrimination and harassment — is an epidemic in the U.S. St. Louis Public Radio, part of the NPR digital network, reported that “a 2013 report from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) identifies a network of 37 organizations that systematically promote anti-Muslim sentiment in America through prejudice, fear and hatred. CAIR calls it Islamophobia.”
CAIR’s report was just the latest. A steady stream of articles continuously appears about the “Islamophobia” industry, a supposedly well-coordinated, well-funded, unscrupulous and dishonest band of bigots, hatemongers and racists who are doing their utmost to disrupt what would otherwise be a peaceful and harmonious welcoming of Muslims into the United States and other Western nations.
Faizan Syed, executive director of CAIR-St. Louis, articulated this mainstream view:
After September the Eleventh, you would expect there would be a spike in anti-Muslim or anti-Islam attacks in the United States. And that’s what we saw after September the Eleventh. But what’s unique is that after the first few years, those percentage [sic] of attacks actually kept going down and down and decreased. And then in 2008 and 2009, we saw another spike in those biased, motivated attacks. And we’ve seen that height now more than even after September the Eleventh. We feel that part of the bigotry and hatred that exists is not just because it exists. But rather, it is an orchestrated, well-organized, well-funded thought process that is being pushed on the American public.
If it weren’t for the “Islamophobes,” we are told, Americans wouldn’t have the low opinion of Islam that surveys show they do, innocent Muslims would not be victimized, and discrimination against Muslims would be essentially non-existent.
The only problem with this scenario is that every detail of it is false.
Jonathan S. Tobin wrote in Commentary last November that “when it comes to the question of America’s alleged Islamophobia, there is a consensus in the American media: American Muslims have been under siege since the 9/11 attacks.” However:
With the annual release of the FBI’s hate crime numbers, statistical proof is once again available for those who are interested in the real answer as to which groups are subjected to the most attacks … Of the 1,340 incidents of anti-religious hate crimes reported, 674 or 62.4 percent were anti-Jewish in nature. Only 130 incidents or 11.6 percent involved Muslim victims. These figures are not much different from those assembled by the government for previous years. In virtually every year, the number of anti-Semitic incidents is a multiple of those involving Muslims.
No victimization of any innocent person is ever justified. But Muslims are not, by and large, suffering from systemic victimization of the type described by CAIR. Discrimination? Muslims live in a freer society in the U.S., and enjoy more rights, than they do in virtually all Muslim countries. So what is the purpose of all the hysteria about “Islamophobia”?
Its purpose, quite simply, was realized on that sunny spring Monday in Boston last year: its purpose is to enable jihad, to enable the killing of Infidels in the name of Islam. As I explain in detail in my book Arab Winter Comes to America, Islamic supremacist groups like CAIR tar with the “Islamophobe” label anyone who dares to discuss honestly how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify attacks like the one at the Boston Marathon. CAIR and its allies have created the “Islamophobia industry,” which is not the wealthy cabal of their mythmaking but actually a band of people who are working to raise awareness of and build resistance to Islamic jihad terror.
Who could object to that? Not any genuine moderate Muslim – and CAIR shows its true colors with its ongoing smear campaigns against anyone who speaks out about jihad and its Islamic justifications. When CAIR and its cohorts smear those who speak out against jihad and Islamic supremacism as “bigots” and “hatemongers,” they are laying the groundwork for what we saw in Boston. For by demonizing and discrediting anyone and everyone who speaks out against the jihad, they intimidate others into backtracking, apologizing, and looking the other way when they should instead be pressing the Muslim community to address the jihad problem realistically and back up its pro-forma condemnations of terrorism with honest work against the Islamic teachings that jihadists use to justify terror.
The perfect world for the likes of CAIR and the other Islamophobia-mongers would be one in which no one speaks up against jihad violence and Islamic supremacism – for they have never, ever seen a counter-jihadist for whom they had any positive words. They want to render the U.S. and the West in general mute and defenseless before the
The jihad attack in Boston last year is the fruit of their work, and the blood is on their hands.
