“Minister orders ban on Valentine’s Day celebration in Islamabad,” Daily Times, February 11, 2016:
ISLAMABAD – The district administration of Islamabad has banned all kind of celebrations in connections with the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
Private TV channel reported that the ban was put in place following orders from Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. In its announcement, the Islamabad district administration said that strict action will be taken against those celebrating the Valentine’s Day in any part of Islamabad….

The Valentine’s Day activities have often been disrupted in the past by the supporters of hardline Jamaat-e-Islami but it is for the first time that the state has intervened to ban the festivities of the day.
