A refreshingly honest admission

The Islamic group Hizb-ut-Tahrir has given Forum 18 News Service a remarkably open acknowledgment of radical Muslim goals.

It's all here. Hizb-ut-Tahrir wants to:

1. Restore a worldwide Caliphate, uniting the world under Islamic rule;

2. Ban all faiths apart from Islam, Judaism and Christianity (members of other religions are not listed as "People of the Book" in the Qur'an);

3. Regulate all religious practice according to Sharia law;

4. "Give all non-Muslim states a choice between either joining the Caliphate under Sharia law, or paying a tax to the Caliphate. Failure to pay the tax would be punished by military attacks."

What the story doesn't say is that Hizb-ut-Tahrir is not saying anything new; it's expressing classic principles of Islamic jurisprudence that are shared by many Muslims worldwide who are not members of this particular organization. Sheikh Omar Bakri in England, for example, has said much the same thing. I profile many others in Onward Muslim Soldiers.

More on this remarkable story at Dhimmi Watch.

Chad:

It will be billions or trillions, but yeah. Is there any alternative?

I understand that this they are culturally myopic. But even from their point of view, wouldn't it be prudent to get their own house in order before subjugating the infidels?

Its..."we don't make the things you use everyday, we make them explode."

How can anyone build a working society (even an evil one) on that?

You are quite right that these goals are part and parcel with islamic (not just muslim, or arab...) jurisprudence.

Yet i am afraid that acknowledging these tenets will not change minds or views on the current situation. One who makes excuses for poor political situations in Arab and muslim states will not be persuaded, whatever is said.

The reason is that those who cant bring themselves to criticize those states, while most easily criticizing the U.S., or Israel (and not even a word on former colonial Britain or France!), are exhibiting a more pure form of other-ism, maybe even orientalism (of the Said variety). Their refusal to take muslims at their word, when speaking in Arabic, of course, is the surest sign of abject racism. A non muslim who identifies more with the press releases of aggressive muslim groups is surely focused on the U.S. as an enemy, moreso than any terrorist being the enemy.

In fact, the people here can afford to be so glib about the truth behind fiqh, jihad, and shari'a because they dont feel the effects of terrorism, and they dont see the muslims as people. for those who are anti israel, for example, these terrorists are just projections of non-muslims' internal angst concerning the modern world.

the fairest thing one can do to Islamist terror groups is to take them at their word.

"2. Ban all faiths apart from Islam, Judaism and Christianity"

Judaism? almost all radical muslims are virulently antisemitic (no, not antizionist, antijew). I don't get it.

The more one researches islam, the more frightening it becomes. What HAS become clear is that a culture war, unlike anything the world has ever seen, is inevitable. And I'm afraid this war will be very unpleasant for muslims the world over...

We recently had three to five (we are still counting) Pakistani families move into a house in our neighborhood. The realtor had enough decency to make the rounds, explaining that these were families with little money here for a better life and would move out one by one as they earned enough money until one family was left.

Fine, we are decent people, we welcomed them and offered to assist them in any reasonable way we could and for the last year, we all got along.

My next door neighbor and theirs as well, is on partial disability recovering from cancer and has helped them out a great deal with common maintenance issues. They recently asked him to help them renovate the basement. My neighbor explained to them that while he was glad to help them when his time permitted, this was a massive project and required contractors, lots of money, and many kinds of skilled workers to do. Well, they didn’t like this to much.

They turned on us like a rabid bunch of wolves. They called him a selfish evil American, and have since stopped talking to any of us. They now have at least 13 people living in the three bedroom house and cause all kinds of commotion they didn’t used to. Recently, my neighbor found one of his dogs dead in his pool.
There are nasty doers near and around the house, the laws are unkempt and the house is showing increasing signs of neglect.

Perhaps it was an accident, and perhaps this isn’t characteristic of all Pakistani people, but let me tell you, we all know where we fit on their perceived social ladder. Until the health inspectors (yes we started that process) order them out and condemn the house, we will continue to live as Dhimmiti to these savages.

Oh, and in case these people decide to play a little Jihad, we can all teach them a lesson in the second admendment!

There's nothing worse than an asshole moving in next door, but apart from calling your neighbor an 'evil selfish American' (probably in a shrill voice!), this could equally be an anti-social American as an anti-social Pakistani.

Anyway, I'd guess you and your neighbor have considered selling up because of the harassment, and if you do, then another five families will move in... if you want to look into the future, read about the Muslim Riots of 2001 in Bradford, England.

And what's changed for the better between now and then?

"There are a number of Pakistani councillors in Bradford, and all represent political factions controlled by forces in Pakistan. 'During elections we get telephone calls from Pakistan telling us whom to vote' says one community activist. And he adds: 'Our MPs are obsessed with Kashmir'".
