More damaging words and implausible explanations from Sheikh Al-Hilali. From Smh.com.au, with thanks to LGF:
The powerful leader of Australia's 300,000 Muslims, Sheik Taj el-Din Al Hilaly, has praised the September 11 terrorist attacks as "God's work".The controversial Mufti also appears to have lent support to Arab suicide bombers in an inflammatory sermon during a Middle East lecture tour.
Sheik Al Hilaly, who is based at the Lakemba mosque, last week vehemently denied that he called for a jihad against Israel in one of his sermons. But a translation of a sermon, delivered at the Sidon mosque in Lebanon and obtained by The Sun-Herald, is littered with references to Arab martyrs and Americans being punished by God.
Sheik Al Hilaly spoke of an "Islamic revolution", and told his audience not to be surprised if one day a muezzin called out "Allah is Great!" from the "top of the White House".
"September 11 is God's work against oppressors," he said. "Some of the things that happen in the world cannot be explained; a civilian airplane whose secrets cannot be explained, if we ask its pilot who reached his objective without error: 'Who led your steps?'
"Or if we ask the giant that fell: 'Who humiliated you?' Or if we ask the president: 'Who made you cry?' God is the answer."
Declaring there was a "war on infidels" around the world, the Mufti praised the boy who, "despite his mother's objections", went to war to become a martyr.
Bemoaning the lack of "real men" in the Arab world, he said the "true boy" was one who told his mother not to cry for him if he died. The boy who cried: "Oh mother, jihad has been imposed on me and I want to become a martyr [was a son of Islam]." The boy would cry to his mother: "Oh mother, I'm going with a stone in my hand to become a martyr."
After seeking clarification from Sheik Al Hilaly in Egypt, his spokesman, Keysar Trad, said the Mufti had taken bits from poems, which he often incorporated into his sermons.
The September 11 reference meant that "evil can reach everywhere and everything", and the power of terrorism should not be belittled. Stating that September 11 was God's work against oppressors meant "people only do these things when they feel oppressed".
He denied the Mufti had supported suicide bombers, saying the "boy with a stone" could not possibly mean that.
A week ago, the Australian Federal Police decided against investigating the Mufti's overseas activities.

More Muslim lies. Or al-taqiyyah as they call it. Say one thing, then when you are confronted, deny it, claim you were misquoted, and as a last resort, say they don't understand Arabic, thus know nothing and walk off in a self righteous huff. We know and understand a lot more about them than they want us to. If Arafat and the oil rich Saudis wanted to, they could take some of their billions and invest it in Palestine so the people there would have better lives. Of course then the Palestinians wouldn't have any reason to be dissatisfied with their quality of life (or more accurately the lack thereof) and there wouldn't be as many suicide bombers (i.e. pawns) to serve the Muslim propagandists cause........
Posted by: Hal at February 28, 2004 2:40 PMWe need to stop saying it was exclusively Arabs and Muslims who celebrated 9/11
They danced and celebrated 9/11. The Palestinians? Maybe but not all. Try the Christian Identity, the Christian KKK, and partially Christian Aryan Nations.
He was preaching 'down with America'. Some cleric in the middle east? No, try Rev. Fred Phelps instead.
They are always saying God is just, so they also say God allowed the attacks because of America's sins, so to them the attacks are justified because of God. Some guys in Afghanistan? Hardly, if you said Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell in their infamous post-9/11 speech however, you would be correct.
Posted by: Some Guy at February 28, 2004 2:49 PMSeptember 11 is of course God's work, the vile monster is responsible for more death and carnage than anyone else in history. He was an accomplice to 9/11, he is omnipresent, so he sat right next to Atta as he drove that plane into the WTC and did nothing. In my book, that's what we call an accomplice.
Posted by: Zyler at February 28, 2004 2:53 PMAfter such an announcement, the australians should have arrested this monster and keep him in jail for a few years, then deport him and all his followers from that mosque, close the mosque down and level it.
Sooner than later australians will have the same problems as we do,but far worse.
Another jacked up noisemaking Muslim cleric...Anyone, be it the fucked up Muslims, the whacked out KKK, liberals, and anyone else that doesn't like America.....why not just wipe your asses, pack your bags, get off your knees, wipe off your chins, and take the train on outta here....ya pussies.
Posted by: D.C. Watson at February 28, 2004 4:58 PMThe key difference between the above listed groups and the islamists is simply that the former--while reprehensible in every possible way--have co-opted Cristianity and are, as a rule, denounced far and wide by nearly all Christian denominations, be they conservative (evangelical) or liberal (mainline).
However, the same is not true concerning the radical islamists. In fact, most other muslims who otherwise could be considered moderate seem to more or less excuse the actions of the radicals or in any case keep silent. That is troublesome.
Posted by: Doug at February 28, 2004 5:37 PM"Some guy" is either a liar or a fool, or a tool for the Muslim apologists. Where is the proof of these "Christian" groups celebrating the death and destruction of 911? I've never heard of any. There is however plenty of film footage of the Arabs and Palestinians dancing in the streets and handing out candy to their kids after America was attacked. Not one Muslim cleric or spokesman has ever apologized for the events of that day. The most I've ever heard was the president of Afghanistan saying that "these men were not Muslims", another way of repeating the lie that appeared on al-menar television news that the terrorists responsible for 911 were Jews. The fact that the majority were Saudis is indisputable. Robertson and Falwell's comments were based on the right of an attacked person or nation to retaliate or defend themselves when they are attacked.
Posted by: Hal at February 28, 2004 7:42 PMNathan, I don't know about cats, but apparently there are no dogs. Many Muslims believe Jews can turn into dogs, pigs, and monkeys. Kinda explains those taliban videos of the dogs being gassed and burned, huh?
Posted by: Hal at February 28, 2004 7:49 PMSpeaking of Robertson & Falwell: First of all, I think Robertson is a bit of a kook. And I think Jerry--as much as I agree with most of what he says--is calculatedly inflammatory at times.
Having said that, here's the true irony: When salafist/wahabbi clerics make disparaging statements about Christianity or Judaism, Christians an Jews refute them using words, nothing more. But when a Falwell or a Robertson makes any sort of offensive remark regarding islam, muslims riot and kill either infidels or other muslims in some far part of the world; the last time it was India, I believe.
Gotta love that "religion of peace."
Posted by: D at February 28, 2004 8:52 PMI believe that being inflammatory with Radical Islam is the only way we can keep winning. It certainly doesn't pay to be kind to them....
I was wondering....does anyone know what Mohammed did with those two men that he welcomed.....before one killed the other?
Did they have some back cave fun? Like pin the tongue on the camel?

Posted by: D.C. Watson at February 28, 2004 10:17 PMIsaid it before and i`ll say it again.
The best way to rid ourselves of the muslim cancer is to attack their hearts ,which is their demonic ideology...
Let`s move one step forward with this theory and aknowledge the fact that their doctrine is contained in the book called quran.
Since the quran is full of hatred and it incites its readers to kill and destroy,i say we should bring the issue to our courts.
Why not bring legal action against the quran,by demonstrating without a doubt that it is the essence of the muslim violence against any and all that are non muslims...and have the quran ,officially declared "hate literature",and therefore ,banned in the US.
Such action would result in mass muslim exodus out of the US,back to their country of origin...problem solved.
The Aussies apparently don't know the proverb, when your neighbor's house is burning, wet yours. They'll have no one but themselves to blame when this nut's supporters blow up something and kill thousands of their people.
It will be a cold day in hell before Allahu Akhbar is said from the top of the WH. GWB is the right man sent by God at the right time to push back the barbarian Islamic hordes.
Posted by: helen at February 29, 2004 12:25 AMHelen, you said it like it is!
A muezin calling "Allahu Akhbar" from the top of the White House...now,that is a scarry thought!
Hopefuly it will never happen.
Aim a nuke at Mecca and Medina each, and if an islamic terrorist so much as touches even a blade of grass on our soil we launch.
Posted by: Austin at February 29, 2004 7:05 AMI sent an e-mail to the Attorney General of Australia. I suggest you all do the same. I told him that when this person returns to Australia he should be arrested.
Posted by: Chaya Eitan at February 29, 2004 9:00 AMif some fanatic islam gets on top of the white house and shouts anything, the people of new york city will obviously all be dead at that point as we will fight this scourge -- even to the end of the world.
Posted by: ted at March 1, 2004 12:36 PMwe all remember the pain ppl suffered on sep 11.......what about the ppl who died in afghanistan and iraq cause of america..............for ne good reasonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...............................can someone give me an answer now....................what about those millions who died...............
