Al-Jazeera has an opinion about Palestinian child jihadis. They are nothing but an Israeli fabrication.
Palestinian leaders have accused Israel of fabricating a story about a 14-year-old Palestinian boy who planned to blow himself up.The Israeli army said he was caught wearing an explosive belt at an army roadblock in the northern West Bank.
The boy, identified as Husam Abdu from Nablus, was shown on TV screens around the world, with an explosive belt strapped to his waist.
The Israeli army said the boy told interrogators that his dispatchers promised that he would have sex with 72 virgins in heaven soon after his death.
"We know for sure this is a fabricated story from A to Z. Would you believe that a 13 or 14-year old would agree to blow up himself in return for a hundred shekels which he would receive after his death?
Yes.

It's just amazing then, how the AP were so quick to report that they had the exclusive on this because their Arab cameraman was waiting at the checkpoint to go through.
Posted by: Nannette at March 30, 2004 10:52 AMEven this boys mother was interviewed in the papers. She believes it happened. She was cross with the terrorists. She agreed they should kill israelis with suicide bombs, but not with her little boy.
Posted by: peter at March 30, 2004 11:48 AMTaqiyyah. Muslim lies. It's what they do. The Koran is taqiyyah. This is no different. Lies, all lies to promote their false religion.
Posted by: Hal at March 30, 2004 12:46 PMEven if this ISN'T TRUE, we would have believed it, not because we are hate-filled Islamophobes or stupid and gullible, but because this tactic has become a pattern.
As for the claim that the story is fabricated because a "13 or 14-year old would not agree to blow himself up for a hundred shekels..", we know that 1) The boy was slow in the uptake; 2) He wanted to impress his friends; 3) Many, even when teenagers, don't understand the finality of death; 4) He was sexually motivated by the "promise of the 72 virgins; 5) Risk-taking is an adolescent trait;; 6) A few shekels are worth a lot when life is cheap as it is in Gaza.
We all have heard stories of teens killing for a pair of sneakers. It isn't much of a leap to understand why an unfortuante mentally slow, manipulated boy could be coerced to take a dare, even one that could end his life.
Posted by: epg at March 30, 2004 1:18 PMIt is very simple, the boy chickened out at the last moment. It is and always will be true that the islam muslims will use their children to further their religion, even if it means death to their children. Life to a muslim means nothing unless you kill the infidels for islam.
Posted by: christian at March 30, 2004 7:11 PMIt is really beyond comprehension why most of the world always doubts what the Israelis say or do, despite all the evidence they provided to the world of Palestinian and Islamic unrelented hatred and terrible murderous attempts to destroy of their state and annihilate their people. We have seen enough pictures of very young children involved in violence in the West Bank and Ghaza. We have seen a 10 or 11 years old Palestinian boy enticed by his "brave" compatriots to carry explosives through the Erez crossing to be delivered to terrorists on the other side, we have seen young women brainwashed to explode themselves taking the life of tens of unarmed civilians in the process. We have witnessed the lies of the Arab media and the accounts paid by Arafat to terrorists etc. etc. and we still find it difficult to believe what the Israelis show and denounce. What the hell does the world still want from Israel to believe? Are we really so stupid to think that the Arab media could tell the truth just even once and miss the chance to sling mud and vilify Israel?
