Setting the Record Straight #1: Iraq and oil

blood for oil.jpg

As the mainstream press slowly notices the problems with the UN's oil for food program, we will soon see once again that the American "allies" who dragged their feet on the U.S. led war to oust Saddam were trading blood for oil all along. They, of course, were rather cleverly trading the blood of Saddam's own citizens for gasoline, an arrangement that kept the blood and corruption out of sight.

Meanwhile, if the United States invaded both Iraq and Afghanistan for oil, how come gas prices hit a new record price of $1.783 a gallon according to AAA?

The Rise of Eurabia is a must read !
Anyone know what percentage of the world's oil resources are under the "caliphate"?
And has this percentage changed in the last thirty years or so?
HAS Islam has used their oil to begin the enslavement of Europe. And have the europeans have turned a blind eye to their own dhimmification?
England is possibly still the least dhimmified european country. Is it a coincidence that they had ample local Oil supplies for many years ?
East timor - target of the caliphate
Sudan ditto
Nigeria ditto
Chechnya/ Uzbekistan
All these countries have energy resources.
These countries seem to be priority for Islamification.

I no longer watch the Communist News Network, or read the International Socialist Review...Life is so easy!

i wouldn't hold my breath for the left wing to acknowledge the contradictions in their arguments. their typical pattern is to morph their rhetoric to avoid unpleasant details -- like purges in communist nations or corruption at the u.n. -- and continue their assault on capitalism and federalism and individual determination and independence. it would seem that their course will be to drop the "oil for blood" rhetoric and turn up the volume on the "american imperialism" rhetoric.

david, off the top of my head: saudi has 20% of the world's proven reserves, iraq has 10%. o.p.e.c. altogether has 40% -- remember that venezuela is in o.p.e.c. canada and russia have tons of oil, but it costs more to pump it due to accessibility of the geology and climate. also, russia's infrastructure is still cumbersome which slows its performance. what is really an interesting wildcard is that just a few months ago, china passed up japan to become the second leading consumer of oil and natural gas after us. when considering the effect of the oil markets on politics, it is important to consider the consumers as well as the producers.
