Saudis Said to Aid Iraq War Extensively

Maybe this is why Washington has been willing not to notice so much sponsorship of jihad terrorism coming out of Saudi Arabia. From AP:

WASHINGTON - During the Iraq war, Saudi Arabia secretly helped the United States far more than has been acknowledged, allowing operations from at least three air bases, permitting special forces to stage attacks from Saudi soil and providing cheap fuel, U.S. and Saudi officials say.

The American air campaign against Iraq was essentially managed from inside Saudi borders, where military commanders operated an air command center and launched refueling tankers, F-16 fighter jets, and sophisticated intelligence gathering flights, according to the officials.

Much of the assistance has been kept quiet for more than a year by both countries for fear it would add to instability inside the kingdom. Many Saudis oppose the war and U.S. presence on Saudi soil has been used by Osama bin Laden to build his terror movement.

But senior political and military officials from both countries told The Associated Press the Saudi royal family permitted widespread military operations to be staged from inside the kingdom during the coalition force's invasion of Iraq.

These officials would only talk on condition of anonymity because of the diplomatic sensitivity and the fact that some operational details remain classified.

The hypocrisy of this situation is enormous! The Saudis are both fueling violent jihad and helping the Americans to destroy Saddam and rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan while quietly influencing Western public opinion through their backdoor efforts to spread Islam throughout the West, i.e. funding university chairs, serving on textbook steering committees, training K-12 teachers, participating or establishing think tanks, community outreach centers, and so on.

The latter, though quiet, is still jihad, a more effective form of jihad than the suicide bombers and other violent forms that have captured our attention. War is stealth, misdirection, and deception. Is the house of Saud the enemy or are they also a pawn in this chess game?

This is beside the point. The House of Al-Saud has its own personal reasons for wanting to get rid of Saddam Hussein and the Ba'athist Party. So what? They, and non-princely Saudis, remain the greatest funders of mosques and madrasas in the world, as well as supplying a goodly number of active combatants in that part of the Jihad which uses violence as its instrument (Saudis are naturally reluctant to leave home, where the money is, so they are less important an element in the demographic conquest -- though the mosques they pay for throughout the Infidel lands do make the preaching of Muslim beliefs much easier and more widespread than they would otherwise be.

Stories about "collaboration" with the United States are idiotic, because such collaboration has nothing to do with being a "staunch ally of the U.S." (as the BBC World Service idiotically persists in calling it). Nor has Saudi Arabia ever been an ally. It sells oil. We buy the oil, at the market price. It is only the notion, for which there is not the slightest evidence, tha Saudi Arabia has done something "for the United States" (other than what it does to promote its carefully-calculated self-interest, which -- as in getting rid of Saddam Hussein -- may occasionally coincide with American interests-- but only very occasionally). Overall, Saudi Arabia, given its money weapon (from an accident of geology) remains the main bankroller, and hence main problem, for Infidels everywhere.

No more tennis games with the "we're-corrupt-but-aren't-we-all-nudge-nudge-wink-wink" Prince Bandar, no more visits to Wychwood, no more visits to his house in McLean or Aspen. Persona, if not non grata, at least a littleless than grata. All these baciamani are intolerable, to the absurd primitives, however well-shod and well-clothed and well-bankrolled, of the House of Al-Saud.

Bandar plays the good cop to Najib's bad cop. The song remains the same.

So....Saudi Arabia sends these cave rats over here to kill us, and the Government looks the other way because the Saudis help us invade Iraq so we can stamp out terrorism?

I'm getting dizzy from going around in this circle.

Permanent low oil prices, complete halt to immigration of Muslims, removal of all funding to our universities, and the shutting down of CAIR would be a good start for them to start earning our protection. They are bastards, aren't they?

Photos like this don't help Bush much.

Maybe it took a while to actually understand that
GEORGE W. BUSH means business against the war on terrorism and the SAUDIS have seen the light.

Excellent post Mr.Hugh!

My question is: Why haven't we started mass producing nitrogen and/or solar powered cars with a rechargeable battery?

Once the world runs out of oil, the muslims will no longer have a source of revenue to fund terrorism, i.e. "Jihad" and will have to return to tending goats and camels........

Sorry, Mr. Kufar. I don't believe in a deity that tells me it's OK to "slay them where you find them" as a general method of interacting with unbelievers. I doubt that your protestations of peace will have any affect on the lot of us, because we know Allah too well to believe in him.
