Bremer: Arms 'stocked in mosques'

01iraq.jpeg

Where are the worldwide denunciations from Muslims, outraged that mosques are being used this way? From the Gulf Daily News, with thanks to Twostellas:

The US-led coalition's civil administrator for Iraq yesterday charged that weapons were being stockpiled in mosques, shrines and schools in the Shi'ite holy city of Najaf, where wanted radical leader Moqtada Al Sadr is holed up. ...

"A dangerous situation is developing in Najaf where weapons are being stockpiled in mosques and shrines and schools," said Bremer. "This explosive situation threatens the general population there," he said.

I doubt Iraq is the only place where weapons are being stored in mosques. Want to bet the same thing isn't being done in France, Belgium etc....?

Britain, the US, Australia...

Call me reactionary but I was thinking That 9/11/01 was enough in the way of probable cause to search every Mosque in the United States as well as a few Convenience stores for weapons :)

Imagine my horror when I heard the President stand and declare that Isalm is a peaceful religion!!!To say nothing of my nausea at seeing a Muslim Mulla preach at the St. Patrick's Service honoring the victims of 9/11...

If this were not so serious it would be funny. Perhaps after the muslim problem is solved, future generations can sit back and laugh at our towering stupidity! That is if people wake up. If not it will be generations of Muslims that laugh at our stupidity and our deadly and willful ignorance.

If I were to invent a new religion tomorrow that had as it's tenets:

-I am the mouth of god and I say:

-All non believers must die

-any tactic is acceptable in defeating unbelievers

-beat and hold your women as subservient beings

for just a start.

I would be looked at as some kind of nut. Yet we daily see those that won't face up to the fact that these are some of the core values of the sick ideology of ISLAM. This belief system is the enemy of mankind.

If you know anything about Islamic history, you will read that the Mosque has been used historically as the center of town - for every purpose possible - even serving as a weapons cache.

Unfortunately to those in the West, the likes of CAIR and the PC/know-nothing voices rage "How could you! it is a house of worship!"

Sorry - is just isn't so!

If weapons are being stored in hospitals, houses of worship, schools, etc which no doubt these thugs have purposively done to inflame the situation, all of these buildings become military targets, thus rightly being fired upon.

These thugs have been asked repeatedly to surrender their weapons which they have refused to do during these so-called negogiations (which means that they are regrouping and stockpiling even more weapons)- sorry - in my opinion these Islamo-thugs have become military targets and the Coalition troups should not have to apologize in taking them on or in defending themselves! This is war! Not a game of hide-n-seek, but rather seek-n-destroy!

Any building, fortified and stocked with weapons, especially one which is directing fire toward opposing combatants becomes a legitimate target.

The jihadists have the psychological advantage because all will be outraged if schools, hospitals, shrines and moques are fired upon. Of course the jihadists hope that the rest of the Muslim world will be inflamed by that occurrence. The outrage is not that U.S. troops will find it necessary to fire upon these buildings, but that Jihadists have put them at risk by making them into stockpiled forts. They are responsible for the destruction of these buildings.

what do you expect a people to have sweets and fowers waiting for the illigitamet children of the west when they come to there country to rape and kill the people and the land, use some common sense

I agree epg, if they have the audacity to stockpile weapons in their mosques and the further audacity to use other people's holy sites as latrines, then why should we give any favor to their holy sites? If they don't respect anything of the other side, we shouldn't respect anything from theirs. After all, what's fair is fair.

My only caviat to this is, if they stop using their mosques as a place to store weapons, then we should leave the mosques alone.

It seems that Muslims have very frequently over the centuries used mosques for arms and ammunition storage - so it was in the late 17th century when Francesco Morosini of Venice was besieging Athens (I think 1690): when a cannonball hit the Parthenon, it blew up an ammunition depot therein - and the Parthenon with it!
