No one should be surprised that this "supply teacher" should look so ordinary. The graphic depictions of Satan are deceptive in that they show a repulsive being that could not turn the head of a pious person. No, Satan, for the pious, comes in the form of the ordinary and banal.

Family culture can often create multiple psychopaths under the right conditions. The brainwashing tecniques of Islam could be construed as only one of the contributing factors in this sad domestic drama, the one that we know about. One can only imagine what the others could be.

"Supply teacher" - Google search shows that this term refers to a teacher on a temporary contract. The equivalent in the U.S. would be a teacher on a short-term contract.

British teachers - Are classroom teachers given tenure? Would a "supply teacher" also be one that does not have tenure?

Supply teachers are employed not by schools but by the local education authority. If a school is short of a teacher, because of illness or whatever, they ask the LEA to send them a supply teacher to fill in. So supply teachers constantly move from school to school, teaching a few days here, a week or two here, a whole term (rarely) there.

It's a dreadful job with zero career prospects. Probably because of that I remember supply teachers as being the pits for the most part, although occasionally there would be a truly brilliant one.

Kind of off topic: Did anyone see the television show last week about the Khadr family in Canada? A family that hates together... father killed; son paralyzed; son lost an eye; son turned spy for CIA--kicked out of family.

They interviewed the mother and daughter throughout the show. Like no mother/daughter I've ever seen--islam has no respect for life and neither did they.

Supply teacher is to the British Education system as a locum doctor is to the NHS. An employee with no continuity towards patients/pupils or coworkers, but due to role of stepping in at short notice, are often paid at a higher rate than the long term staff. Far too much of Britains state sector is run by people in this situation.
As to this lady, more emails were on the radio today. One of her splodeydope brothers emailed her saying that when he was finished doing what he was going to do, that there could be much trouble for her and that she should clear her home of all incriminating messages etc.
It looks like the circumstantial evidence against this family is going to be overwhelming. It remains to be seen if there is enough proof for a conviction however.
As to huddie, lets all ignore him/them. The variation in huddies grammar and spelling from day to day suggests either he is a small team of mohommadans taking turns posting, or he is one man who doesn't take his medication regularly.

I would like to remind everyone posting that I do not take kindly to foul language, ad hominem attacks, broad characterizations of ALL Muslims or any other group of people, etc. I don't have time or inclination to read all the comments and am happy for there to be a wide latitude of opinion here -- including Muslims defending violent jihad, if they are so inclined -- but I would ask you all to keep it reasonably civil, in the unique tradition of American political discourse (at least up until recently). However, in the nature of the case, if any message here of any kind is NOT deleted, it IN NO WAY constitutes an endorsement of that message by me. I'm delighted that we will no longer be subjected to the low level banter that takes place when otherwise intelligent people are baited by the Hood Jihadi writer. I do understand it though, it's frustrating when the 'other side' is so obtuse and can't even consider another viewpoint. We just mustn't fail to question either, looking for insight, not simply shoring up the viewpoints we already hold dear.
I enjoy the informative, thoughtful posts that educate us in this strange and frightening 'religion' and give us historical background and political insight. Thank you.

I think that real problem the West faces is one that is not discussed - at least with any regularity here. The problem, as I see it, is how does the West propose to deal with this sort of insanity. From an Islamic point of view, her attitude, not only makes sense but is divinely inspired. Religion in the West and throughout the East is a mixture of allegory and a "Kantian ought" which leaves a lot of room for dialogue. There is no such dialogue possible in Islam at present. Does that mean that ultimately only conflict will resolve this matter. That is the issue that troubles me and I do not see any way out ultimately -- unless Islam changes.

Off topic, but good for a laugh:

This is a small, rural town, and we have a new doctor from (I think) Kuwait. Anyway, his wife and daughters have attracted a lot of looks by going around in the full garb of veil, etc. Both the girls are teenage, and, well, the garb doesn't hide a, shall I say, appealing shape.

Well, just yesterday afternoon, I saw one of the local rednecks (nice farm kid, gunrack in the back window of his Chevy 4 x 4, going to the local college to become a vet) cruising around with a good looking little dark haired cutie wearing jeans and a tank top that I'd never seen before. Pulled up beside him and asked who she was--and guess what...?

Score one for the rednecks.
