Spain to control mosque funding

MANSUR.jpeg
Mansur Escudero

"Will there be a policeman standing at the back of every mosque?" asks a Muslim spokesman, amazed that the Socialist government recently elected in a wave of Spanish dhimmitude after 3/11 may not be as compliant as he had hoped. But anyway, why not? Can Mansur Escudero guarantee that any mosque in Spain will never be used by terror recruiters?

From The Telegraph, with thanks to Fanabba:

The Spanish government is drawing up plans to triple the size of its anti-terrorist force and take control of the funding of mosques among other emergency measures to fight Islamic terrorism. According to reports published yesterday, the interior minister, Jose Antonio Alonso, has outlined the plans to the centre-Right opposition party. They include finding ways of monitoring the content of preaching in mosques.

"The state must be able to know and to ensure that religious freedom is not used for other purposes," Mr Alonso was quoted as saying.

The Moroccan Immigrant Workers' Association complained that up to now funding had been left in the hands of Saudi-backed imams who preached a radical form of Wahhabi Islam.

Other Muslim groups and the opposition People's Party have criticised the possible reforms as encroaching on religious freedom. ...

In addition, the government wants to boost financing for mosques and develop relations between the authorities and the country's 600,000-strong Muslim community.

It is estimated that there are 400 mosques or Muslim religious centres nationwide. The justice ministry has a register of 235 Muslim communities but has no idea of the number of mosques in Spain or of who is preaching in them.

Any reform in Spain must respect "religious freedom and the safety of citizens", said Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, the first deputy prime minister. ...

"We really need to improve the laws to control Islamic radicals. We need to get to a legal situation in which we can control the imams in small mosques," said Mr Alonso. "That is where the Islamic fundamentalism that lead to certain actions is disseminated."

Mansur Escudero, the president of the Islamic Council, said: "I never thought that a socialist minister with a progressive attitude and respect for the constitution would launch such an attack on religious freedom. Will there be a policeman standing at the back of every mosque?"

Wow! The Spanish are starting to "get it". The route that Turkey, Singapore, France have taken are beginning to take is the route that all countries who want to control Islamist extremism must take.

Separation of church and state with Islam is impossible. The state must take control of the religious apparatus in order to control it; otherwise, using the basic tenets of Islam as guideposts, Muslims are religiously obliged to seek power, install the Shariah, and seek the establishment of the Caliphate.

The US, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand must wake up and develop legislation to deal with this problem as the Spanish are doing.

People in the US underestimate the Europeans. They are not stupid. They are waking up to the reality of an islamic incursion where illegal activities are planned in some mosques. Europe, esp. Spain has a long history with Islam.

The monitoring of mosques on a 24/7 basis will become the norm here in the case of another 9-11. Why? Because only Islam allows armed individuals and weapons and incitement to violence within some of its mosques. These bad apples need to be shut down. First we need to know what's going on within each mosque.
Many civil libertarians will scream bloody murder at the idea of this. One way to counter this argument would be for all the mainline churches to invite the authorities to monitor their services. In fact they would be quite happy to invite security personnel to monitor what's going on. It gives them another opportunity to preach the gospel. Nothing to hide here! What kind of gospel do they preach in mosques? Let's find out.

So much for Western freedom of religion. What a surprise - religious freedom does not apply to Muslims. I am amazed.

Do you people actually think that Muslims are plotting in the mosques to take over the world? The real planning for world domination occurs elesewhere, as I am sure at least some of you are aware. Have you not heard of the New World Order? The Trilateral Commission? The Bilderbergers? The Illuminati? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? The Rothschilds?

No, I'm afraid that you must look at another group of people if you wish to identify those who really control the world.

Allahu akbar

Reza:

Religious freedom in the West stops at treason, sedition and inciting others to violence. These are not allowed no matter WHAT your religion. Oddly, it's mostly Muslims using these tactics. You may pray to your idol 5 times a day, but you may NOT break the law.

Reza:

"Do you people actually think that Muslims are plotting in the mosques to take over the world?"

Are we supposed to believe that mosques in Western countries are any different from those in Iraq or Saudi Arabia?

Or are you going to claim that Islamic religious leaders don't use their Friday sermons to incite Jihad against the West (contrary to the obvious fact that they do just that?).

"So much for Western freedom of religion. What a surprise - religious freedom does not apply to Muslims. I am amazed."

The truly amazing thing is that you expect us to allow you to use our laws--the very man-made laws Muslims claim don't apply to them--against us.

Notice how Reza can never answer direct, rational arguments, but must always resort to mindless Muslim parroting?

CGW:

Probably has something to do with the fact that the vast majority of the world's Muslims learn the Koran by rote memorization, rather than actually studying the words and learning what they mean.

The Minister of Interior has said thursday, later of a greeting with the islamic representants, that his declaration weren´t comprehended and THE STATE DON´T WANT TO CONTROL MOSQUES, It´s a pity, but another time my government, a silly government is a coward government.

Why are there muslims in Europe ??
Why do they want to live in a Europe they contempt?
They are telling us that we are unclean. They don`want to learn our languages, they don`t want to live among us, they don`t want to educate, they don`t want to earn their own money.
4/5 of muslims in DK are on social assistance.
And we have about 800.000.
They are telling us, that they want to transforme Denmark into an muslim state, and that they will succeed because they have about 5-7 times more children than the Danes.

Freedom of religion pertains to ACTUAL religions...maybe muslims shouldnt have been so hasty wanting the world to learn about their "religion"...the passages from that book are horrifying...the world is slowly waking up...I am all for people worshiping anything they like, trees, dirt, worms, whatever, as long as it doesnt harm anyone. If muslims practiced their "religion" and left it at that without harming anyone or shoving it down others throats, fine no problem...but thats not how it is...either you belieive what muslims beleive or your life is worthless...and I dont like haveing my life deemed worthless by an illiterate power hungry pedophile. And all of us, I dont care what religion you practice, BELEIVE what that religion teaches, we have no absolute proof, its called FAITH...how can muslims say they have the "one true religion"...no one knows what the absolute truth is unitl they die, therefore if a muslim dies, spends a few weeks chatting with allah and brings maybe a note and a few photos from the other side, maybe then I will be convinced its the "one true religion" until that happens, dont bother telling any of us .

Concerted use of western anti-Jew propaganda by Arab propagandists over past 20 years originally designed to reactivate anti-semitism in Europe and reenergise anti-semitism in USA to weaken support for Israel.

Instead the Christian west has so proven resiient to a new outbreak of the disease but the Moslem world has become throughly infected. Jihadists are now heading up the same fanatical blind alley as other anti-Jew focused ideologies.

There is a silent war going on in the mosques of the non-Arab Moslem countries between those who use them for faith and those for Jihad. And there is a growing difference even though it may take a generation to become relevant.

I think the Spanish may finally have a decent idea on controling hate speach after all. Reza, I don't see how installing listening devices in a public place such as a mosque or church infringes on anyones rights.

Maybe I'm being a bit to "Ashcroft" for some, but why hasn't that idea been floated yet in Congress? Of particular interest would be Imans performing in prisons, where the majority of "problem" Americans convert to Islam.

I have to laugh at Reza's double standard. How many times has he promised that Islam is conquering the west? Now he wants equal rights...hey Reza, your grandchildren will be cabdrivers.

yabba dabba akbar!

Vivian, there is only one solution to the peoblem, unless you want Denmark to be an islamic emirate soon:expell all muslims out of the country, and never,NEVER allow not even a single one to ever return.
I repeat, this is the only solution, and nothing short of that will save your country.
Same with a cancer patient:the doctors either destroy the tumor by surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, etc,or the patient DIES a slow and agonizing death...

The socialist party proposal was controlling every cult. This means not doing any discrimination between Christians and Muslims. Big error. Disgusting. And probably useless.

My proposal is forbidding that ominous sect. If not, obligue them to make the cult public. That would be a good beggining.

Of course, you don't need to say that you're going to control them. It must be done.

We have not wake up, I can swear; some people (all kind of progressives) refuse to say "Islamic terrorism". That's discrimination, you now.

Yes, there is an international plot to put the whole world under the rule of a Jewish king descended from David, hatched and announced in the shadow of the great Temple on Mount Moriah itslef way back in ancient times.

The Jewish king's name is Jesus of Nazareth, and his conspiracy--open and transparent for all to see--is called Christianity. I should know. I'm part of it.

In the USA, I worshipped in a church where there was a uniformed, armed policeman watching. He was a member of the congregation scheduled to go out on duty shortly before the end of the service.
