CAIR petitions against terrorism; Islam Online Demurs

CAIR responded to the murder of Nicholas Berg by circulating a petition against terrorism called “Not in the Name of Islam.”

The “Not in the Name of Islam” petition states: “We, the undersigned Muslims, wish to state clearly that those who commit acts of terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent. No injustice done to Muslims can ever justify the massacre of innocent people, and no act of terror will ever serve the cause of Islam. We repudiate and dissociate ourselves from any Muslim group or individual who commits such brutal and un-Islamic acts. We refuse to allow our faith to be held hostage by the criminal actions of a tiny minority acting outside the teachings of both the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Islam Online says the petition is “Not in the Name of Islam”

On the other hand, it promotes a message of pacifism to Muslims in the US and around the world, disregarding Islam’s instructions to fight oppression and invasion. This is suggested when the term reject violence is used.

Violence and all its forms are subjectively interpreted. To non-Muslims, the desired interpretation would be “Drop all of your beliefs in fighting against our oppression.” Another possible connotation would be that Muslims should not support the death penalty or corporal punishment. The death penalty, whether by stoning, hanging or beheading, is considered a violent act by many.

Desperate to curry favor with non-Muslims, CAIR has successfully been trapped in a catch-22. Now that we’ve suggested that Muslims do not believe in violence, non-Muslims will tear us up in their writings by accusing us of hypocrisy for daring to take up arms against an occupying force.

UPDATE: Read the comments. In haste I missed the crucial point that the Islam Online article was written by an American Islamic chaplain. Thanks to Charles and all the others who provided the info.

This is hilarious.
From the Islam Online article:

"Everything from the anthrax attacks to the Oklahoma City bombing was falsely blamed on Muslims."

First of all, the anthrax attacks remain unsolved--how the author of the article says muslims were falsely blamed is incorrect for the very fact that no one has been blamed, or absolved for that matter. Additionally, I don't ever remember muslims being the focus of the investigation.

So what about all the other acts muslims have been falsely accused of? Outside the Oklahoma City bombing I can't think of one. On the contrary, most terrorist acts have correctly been attributed to islamic terrorists.

The subtler absurdities of the article were entertaining but the quote above was just too good to pass up.

Taqiyya, anyone?

Posted by: lobo91 at May 23, 2004 9:36 PM

Fighting amongst ourself, are we? Oh, dear, dear. And just when the jihad was going so well. You don't think they're feeling the alarm of their neighbors who, thanks to efforts like JihadWatch, have now become aware that Muslims want to kill them and their kids? I'm sure they'll put the mask back on nice and straight in short order and get their lies back in coordination.

Now CAIR is trying to curry favor. YUK!!!!
I can't stand these guys!!!
Everything out of this orginization is a lie.
I have never understood with all their direct ties to Hamas, why they have not been shut down and charged with adding the enemy.
It's been proven over and over again, that they helped raise money for various terrorist groups.
Everyone should help to support Anti-Cair.

EVERYTHING CAIR ever says or does in public is taqiyya, lobo91. I'm sure most of you have read it by now, but if you haven't, here's a link explaining the concept of taqiyya, lying for and about Islam:

CAIR is a duplicitious, seditious group- influenced by the Wahhabi Lobby. They support groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. They are often silent when innocent non-Muslims are killed, maimed or injured. Aside from the foreign governments that support CAIR and finance their activities (Saudi Arabia), CAIR shares an alliance with the Left (groups like the ACLU).
Mr. Hooper is a mendacious weasel.

The Anthrax in the envelopes each were accompanied by a letter stating in English, included the following phrases:

"Allah is great"
"Death to America"
"Death to Israel"

At the time it was suggested by "experts" that it was a ruse to shift away suspicion from rural "white power" groups.

Maybe they were wrong to assume that.

Hooper's petition for "moderate Muslims" to condemn terrorism is a little too late. We in the West now see all Muslims as potential terrorists not only because of the Koranic verses obligating Muslims to fight and subdue us, but because there are clerics that are actively telling them it is un-Islamic not to follow this directive.

More and more Wahabbist and other radical clerics are showing up in mosques in ther United States. Their fatwas against the United States, urging their constituents to make America a Muslim country is sedition. They will never allow American Muslims to become Americans, to assimilate into American culture. Their agenda is very clear. Change us or kill us. IslamOnLine is the proof. Taquiya alright!

Click here: Taqiyya - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one's
beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a
time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from
physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be
"Dissimulation."

A interesting concept. You are allowed to verbally lie to protect yourself.

The only question I will put to this guy(s) you call CAIR is this..
If He/She thinks islam is a religion of peace, why is it that the only way they have ever tried to propagate their religion in africa is through violence and killing?
If he/she thinks this is not true, I think I can give him a lot of examples which does not even come out in Newspapers!
The other time, I asked a question on a TV programe about the freedom to women as declared in Islam, the person I even spoke to doesnot even know what is operating, and I gave her a lot of examples. All what she could say was that she is ignorant of that.
That I think is perculiar to all muslims most of them do not even know their religion, or what it says..
Even, I am not sure if the CAIR guys understand.. because if they do, they will be too exposed to even speak! when it comes to violence issues..

Hold on about the OKC bombing. I saw Jayna Davis on Fox and she was very convincing about who the third bomber was--the guy seen in McVeigh's truck.

Please note, also -- the Islam Online article was written by a US Islamic chaplain, presumably working in the prison system.

I just noticed this line from Jerez' bio:

He is presently pursuing a doctoral degree in Human Services, trying to assist in developing and improving systems by including Islamic principles.

I shudder to think which "Islamic principles" he wants to incorporate into social services.

Here in Canada CAIR tries to mask its
antisemitism but their posted articles are
so overtly gigotted and anti-Christian as
well,I find them a threat to human rights
in Canada.
CAIR USA posted a Canadian news item of
a vandalism act of a Mosque that had the
enterance awning set afire.I know of this
case and it was a "woman-only" entry and
the building was a one story commercial
unit converted to be a Mosque.
I emailed CAIR USA to point out the story
had several facts left out,CAIR portrayed it
as a hate-crime and racist act.
CAIR Canada milked the vandalism as Islamophobia and backlash from the 911 attack, the
recent attack on Jews was trivialized by CAIR's
insistance of vandalism.
Jewish homes had Swatika's sprayed on the front
door and garage's and cars, cemetary headstones
were toppled and sprayed with hate messages, even
after a Firebombing at a School in Montreal,CAIR touts the Mosque attack as a Hate-Crime and the attacks on Jews as "Vandalism" .
CAIR Canada also has a online petition to ban Jewish student groups from Universities, even though a Islamic Pro-Palestinian students group rioted and terrorized Concordia University because
a Israeli was holding a speech in a forum.

I don't trust CAIR and the "victim-envy"
mindset creates media zealots that look for
anything they perceive as Islamophobic.
CAIR's mission statement is very boastful
about educating Canadians on Islam and
fighting for justice and Human rights in
Canada so they match Islamic Laws.

Don't take my word for it,just go to
their site and read the menu's,the media
watch feature makes you think Muslim's are under seige in Canada by civil wars.

Oklahoma was by Muslims. Also, I just learned a few months ago that in the 80s women were targetted in Montreal, and that the criminals were Muslims. We honor this day every year to remember the women.

Although the idea is intriguing, one thing that immediately gives me pause is the Muslims' (and especially the Arab Muslims') complete inabiltiy to keep their mouths shut about anything. If they had participated, I can't imagine that they wouldn't have been crowing about their "victory" for the whole world to hear - just like Usama and 9/11. Imagine missing out on all that jubliant celebration and ululations from the Arab street.

In my own metro area, I know someone who, the day before 9/11, was paying at a gas station checkout line, and he and the clerk were remarking on how unseasonably warm it was outside that day. The guy behind him in line, who "appeared to be Middle Eastern", interrupted their conversation by saying: "Not as hot as it's going to be in New York tomorrow." At the time, my aquaintance and the clerk thought that the guy was just a little odd and that owing to the cultural difference he didn't know how to participate properly in a conversation. 9/11 the next day put it in horrifying perspective. Needless to say, the authorites were contacted and they confiscated surveillance tapes (both inside and outside) to look for the guy but my aquaintance was never informed as to whether he was ever tracked down.

From a CAIR editorial:

Just as the cruel torture of Iraqis has been universally condemned by people of all faith, the overwhelming majority of Muslims worldwide are sickened and condemn Berg's horrific death as inherently shocking, against all teachings of Islam and universally deplored by all spiritual, caring and decent human beings.

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/editorial/outlook/2566136

So far, this editorial is about the ONLY negative response to the Berg killing that I've seen from the entire Muslim world.

This leads me to believe that, contrary to the writer's assertion, "the overwhelming majority of Muslims worldwide" DO NOT condemn this brutal act.

Truth be told, I rather doubt that the CAIR legal director who wrote these words even believes them.

I believe the term is taqiyya

Posted by: lobo91 at May 24, 2004 4:06 PM

This lastest dog and pony show appears to be a mere smoke screen in an attempt to avoid the beatings of Muslims. It doesn't appear that it will last, in accordance with a few of their latest articles.

They laid low for about a week, and then went back to the same routine. I guess maybe they feel that we all have short term memory conditions.

I feel confident that we have posters that come here from most of our 50 states and of course, Canada. To my Canadian friends, I would suggest that either you vote out the coward appeasers in your Government, and squash the Muslim threat to your culture, or maybe consider moving here.

I would like to suggest to everyone that's able, please contact your State Senators and Representatives with regard to this organization. Let them know.......that we know. This can be done by e-mail. Let them know, that no one appreciates the activities of this group being allowed to continue. Actions that have apparently been proven by several arrests and convictions.

If you browse their website, they're pretty much back to doing their bashing. With all that's happened to the United States over the past 3 years, how dare they display the unmitigated gall to file a lawsuit against a retired United States military man?

For what? Giving the public a view of what they've said and done? Anti-CAIR deserves a key to the nation, not a libel lawsuit. This is a perfect example of immigrants manipulating our Constitution, having the nerve to call our Constitution their laws, calling themselves Americans like they belong here, like they've have somehow contributed to the success of this nation, or have even applied for citizenship.

Because someone enters this nation's borders, either legally or illegally, does not give them the status of being American. That should be earned, not handed away.

Too often, our "melting pot" can't succeed because of the fact that immigrants refuse to learn our language, or obey our laws. Rather, they take the lazy approach and want us to learn their language. Well, to answer the Mexicans in Spanish....NO.....Immigrants need to start respecting this country, or they need to leave. Enter legally or don't enter. When they get here, follow our laws, not Allah's, or the laws they were under when living in the corruption of Mexico.

Congress and the Senate should be contacted. They need to know that we know about groups like this. They also need to know that being soft on these people simply waltzing into our country is an extremely stupid thing to do. They need our votes. Enough is enough of this Islam and Immigration situation.

I'm not giving this country away to any of them. I'd just as soon battle it out with them in any format.

Regarding this lawsuit, like I've said, It's not libel or slander if its true. A great Attorney once told me, "it is what it is."

Immigrants suing the Government has become
a past-time in Canada,earlier this month I
mentioned that a Syrian man was stopped in the USA and then deported to his native Syria.
He also had a Canadian passport because of
dual citizenship, one year later he returns
to Canada and holds a news conference detailing
his torture in Syria ( his other citizenship )and
sitting next to his free Lawyer.
Mr.Maher Arar has launched a 400,000,000 dollar
suit against Canadians for what the Syrians did to him,if that isn't enough, his wife is running for the NDP federal party on the AntiAmerican wave in the local Muslim community in Ottawa.
Before the last century the oppressive Chinese
ruling Government exploited workers as a cheap
form of labour to build wealth. When Canada wanted
to take in Chinese for labour in Canada the leaders of China wanted a fee to be paid for the loss of the citizen. Canada had to impose a enterance fee to discourage China losing more
workers.
Today the "Head-Tax" that got people out of China has been twisted into a racist immigration
policy and the demand for financial redress to
the decendants of those paying the exit fee from
China.
China wouldn't let people leave unless Canada
proved it had a deterant to migrants by a Tax,I also did some research, and at the time China's
population was near 400 million and Canada's was
about 8 million.
That's 50 times our size, how many were we suppose to take in until we became a chinese
country by population,Russia wouldn't have been amused.
The NDP also has Olivia Chow running in Toronto and she wants to sue canadians over this tax that
had nothing to do with her,she came here at age
13 and must have a "Victim-envy" and wants to get votes as a hero for the Asian population.
