If Italy gets hit, I will mourn with her; if her law enforcement people foil a plot, I will cheer.

Morgane, I've visited the Al Muhajiroun website and as a Muslim I'm sickened by their literature and beliefs. Thank God that most Muslims don't adhere to their teachings. That being said, it's ridiculous the charges non Muslims press upon our beloved prophet about his marriage to Aisha. His marriage to her was purely for sociopolitical reasons. Many marriages were taken place for creating bonds between tribes. He married Juwayriyyah so that he'd gain the support of Bani Al-Mustaliq and their ally tribes. He married Safiyya in order to ease tensions with hostile Jews in Arabia and married Mary the Copt (who embraced Islam coming from Egypt) to create strong bonds with the king. Second of all, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) had already been proposed to by Jubair ibn Mut`am but declined his marriage proposal. This wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Hala, the cousin of Amina bint Wahb was married to Abdul-Muttalib on the same day his son `Abdullah married Aminah bint Wahb who was at Hala’s same age. Also, the Companion `Umar ibn Al-Khattab married the daughter of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah honor his face, while he was at her grandpa’s age. If the prophet was a pedofile he could've fulfilled these desires when he was a young man. Even before he was a prophet he was known to everyone by his outstanding character and sense of social justice as Al Ameen (the trustworthy). After his death many of his companions would come to Aisha for religious knowledge. Even when he was asked for Aisha's hand in marriage he didn't immediately accept but took into consideration his relationship with Abu Bakr. He specifically waited until the emigration to Medina to consummate the marriage when she was mature. Looking back on WWII and the Holocaust: those hated from the very gut of Nazi ideology should be praised simply for being who they are. Likewise we should be proud to be high on the hit list of global jihad. Hate from Jihadis is a sign that we are close to the good, which in times of horrible war easily becomes distorted and confused, because many uncommon virtues, like courage, suddenly become more important than they are in normal life.

Our religion permits us to fight when we are oppressed. Our beloved prophet and his companions were kicked out of their homes, tortured, starved, and killed. They had every justifcation to fight. Today Muslims are oppressed too, mainly by regimes who enjoy the support and backing of the West. Why do you think 9-11 happened? Do you really believe Bush when he said it happened because they're jealous of our freedom? After 9-11 there were outright condemnations from some of the most eminent islamic scholars which you fail to acknowledge. There were moments of silence all across the globe. But how many Americans hold a moment of silence when atrocities happen in other countries? I didn't see any candlelight vigils after the madrid or bali bombings.

P.S. Spare me your stories of Grannies with Guns, it's not that intimidating.

Adam appears to be a CAIR Muslim, a contemptable creature akin to Kweisi Mfume, or other, more famous racists.

They are not interested in equality for all, only in preferential treatment for themselves. He may not directly support the killing of non-Muslims, but notice he didn't say he was against the practice either.

Like most of the breed, he cannot and will not accept that the inherent coruption that is his belif sytem is at fault for the majority of the ills within his society. It is much easier for him to blame America and Israel than to admit the failure of his ideology.

But that is exactly what the US is doing in Iraq and Afghanistan for instance -- routing out dictators and trying to promote responsible governents in their places. And the Saudis have opposed all of these efforts tooth-and-nail.

Face it, Adam, the only reason Muslims despise the US is because we are infidels attacking/fighting back against (some) Muslims. Muslim dictators who attack and kill non-Muslims and Muslims alike are considered heroes in the Muslim world. Muslims who are slaughtered in great numbers by other Muslims (Somali warlords, Sudanese militia, Talibans, Al-Qaeda car bombs in Iraq, anti-democracy forces in Kashmir, etc) -- none of these matter to the average Muslim.

You show it yourself -- when you talk about Muslims being attacked by non-Muslims with great bitterness while ignoring the huge slaughter of Muslims by Muslims in many countries.

Muslims just do not seem to care what the quality of their governments are -- they only seem to care about hating and killing infidels.

Many Muslim websites refer to a hadith in which Muhammad supposedly foretold that Islam would one day conquer Constantinople, and after Constantinople, Rome. It seemed fantastic, the hadith implies, and yet, as all Muslims know, Constantinople was conquered, falling to the Ottoman Turks in 1453. This hadith is no doubt modeled on something borrowed from Christianity – in this case, it would be the Dream of Constantine, the vision in which the Emperor foresees the triumph of Christianity, the religion to which he himself will convert, that vision of him under the “in hoc signo” sign of the Church Militant and Triumphant. The Vision of Constantine is best-known to art lovers through its being part of a famous fresco cycle, by Piero della Francesca, in the church at Arezzo, frescoes recently restored and to be seen while they are still there, as yet undisturbed. (This must be added, on the very day when the news has arrived of the decapitationof the statues of Jesus and Mary, that had been spared during the Revolution, and had been the pride of the church of “Notre Dame de Consolation” in the village of Floing where at present “l’emotion des habitants, qu’ils soient croyants ou non, est d’autant plus grande que l’erection de ces statues a l’interieur du sanctuaire…” )

In this hadith, Muhammad sees that the Two Holy Cities (as a Muslim would no doubt regard them) of Christendom – Constantinople the capital of the Eastern Empire, and Rome the capital of the Western Empire, would eventually fall to Islam. It seemed fantastic, but when, after many centuries of Seljukid and then Ottoman Turkish pressure, Byzantium was conquered, and Constantinople itself fell in 1453, Muslims might take pleasure. If the mighty empire took seven centuries to completely fall, well – patience, patience. So too can what are now seen as the capitals of the weakened, decadent peoples of what is difficult to still call Western Christendom – even if Muslims regard it as such -- as represented first by Rome, and by Italy.
Islam need not be spread, or imposed, by outright military conquest. The country with the largest population of Muslims, after all, is Indonesia – where the indigenous pagans, Hindus, and Buddhists were, little by little, simply overwhelmed by those who, converted through the efforts of an Islamic presence that began with Arab traders from the Hadramaut (Hadramis, curiously, were also important at the court of the Nizam of Hyderabad), gradually created the conditions that favored and promoted Islam, and put those practicing other religions always on the defensive. If Indonesian Islam is widely regarded as less aggressive, and more syncretistic than any other version of Islam, that is because it had to present itself, at least until recently, in a softer version that would be palatable to the entirely non-Muslim indigenous population. And under the Dutch colonial administration, so ably advised by the Orientalist Snouck Hurgronje, Islam was kept on the run, and the peoples of Indonesia understood that, for worldly success, as in Kemalist Turkey, great interest in Islam was not an advantage. When the Dutch East Indies became Indonesia, that brake was off political Islam. And now, of course, the Muslims have been on a virtual rampage, beginning with the massacre of 600,000 non-Muslim Chinese in the 1960s, 200,000 Christian East Timorese in the 1980s and 1990s, and Christians in the Moluccas, and elsewhere – with several thousand churches burned down in 2003 alone (see the report of the Barnabas Fund). That is what Italy can expect – not military conquest, but the slow conquest, through population changes, and through appeals to the economically and psychically marginal (of which Western society has a goodly number), and then, little by little, increasing demands on the non-Muslim population to make accommodations for Islam that no other belief-system would dare to make, much less demand.
Outright combat, of course, is only one way to spread Islam, and today it is not the best way, except in dealing with helpless black Africans. It is worth noting that the most violent Islamic movement in North Africa is called the Salafist Movement in North Africa takes, as its full name, the Salafist Movement for Call and Combat, or Da’wa and Qital. In Italy, it scarcely matters whether the land is claimed for Islam by outright military conquest, or by demographic conquest from within (immigration, and conversion of locals over time). It took many centuries of steady pressure, but ultimately Byzantium, and Constantinople, were conquered, seeming to fulfill that supposed vision of Muhammad – or at least the first part of it. The position of the non-Muslims in Italy is not helped by the idiocy of the donation of 8 acres of prime Rome real estate not a mile from the Vatican, more than ten years ago, by a pliant Italian government (Andreotti, a crook whose Sicilian representative was tight with the Mafia, but was also a hireling of the Arabs; one look at his Middle Eastern policies, and his justification for them, demonstrates this). Pertini and some in the Vatican undoubtedly deluded themselves into thinking that, by giving this land for a mosque, they might even earn some better treatment for Christians in the Middle Eat. Buona notte, boys. Of course it had no effect on implacable Muslim hostility. Andreotti himself, although he was, as a crooked Christian Democrat, widely known as the Vatican’s loyal servant at the Quirinale, or the Campidoglio, or the Viminale, or whatever damn eponymous Roman hill his office was supposedly on, and he served, and then left office, and then came back into office – in the post-war Italian game of who’s-in-who’s-out-who’s-in-who’s-out (the record in this regard is held, I think, by Amintore Fanfani, the Perdurable One). Andreotti has been unrepentant about that land donated for the Mosque, and about the Mosque himself; like Chirac, another crook, he is not terribly concerned about the Muslim penetration of his own country, or of what this must mean for that country’s people and its artistic treasures and its civilization. One can imagine Andreotti, or Chirac, and how swimmingly they would have gotten on in the regimes of Mussolini, and Le Marechal, respectively. So it should be no surprise that in this undeclared but fateful world war, they have often helped the wrong side.
Rome, as the center of Christianity, has great significance. If Rome and Italy can be conquered through demographic means, that would not only fulfill the “vision” of Muhammad, but would hearten and embolden Muslims everywhere – and the promise of taking possession of the land, and of the modern arms of the Italian state, mean a good deal. But no one should worry that the Muslims will seize and ship to the Middle East all the art treasures of Venice and Florence and Rome,, and Perugia and Naples, and Siena, and Orvieto, and Ferrara and Verona and Padova and….Yes, two-thirds of the art treasures of the Western world are in Italy. No, they won’t be going anywhere. The Muslims are indifferent to those treasures of classical antiquity, and of Western Christianity. Or rather – indeifference at best, but more likely they are simply filled with a desire to destroy.

After all, the history of Muslim conquest is also the history of destruction of churches and synagogues, of Hindu temples and Buddhist temples, of statuary and artifacts. In the last few years, Joseph’s Tomb has been reduced to rubble – have you bothered to see the pictures of how the “Palestinians” left it? The Bamiyan Buddhas, preserved from the destruction wrought on so many artifacts of the Greco-Buddhist civilization of Central Asia by Muslim conquerors only because they were too difficult to destroy, finally succumbed to the dynamite of the Taliban. An entire library of books could be devoted just to the pagan, Jewish, Christian, Zoroastrian, Hindu, and Buddhist artistic legacy, in all of the lands conquered by Islam, that were destroyed by Muslims, or vandalized, or effaced (just go to the Hagia Sophia, and take a look around --- and then ask where are the tens of thousands of churches, and their fabulous art treasures, that once could be found all over Byzantium?) .
Western civilization is unthinkable without easy access to Italy, without the pleasures and treasures of Italian art available to Western travelers, Western students, Western connoisseurs. A West without Italy is as unthinkable, indeed, as it would be without Israel (though few seem to have given this prospect much thought), for if the Jewish State were to disappear into the dar al-Islam, does anyone really believe that Muslims would allow free and unhindered access to the Holy Land, which only now, under Israeli sovereignty, is guaranteed as it has not been for a millennium, in the brief period of the Crusader kingdoms. And that loss would be felt far more keenly now, when the technical means of travel are widely available, as they were not even a century ago.

It is not because of Berlusconi that Itlay is under attack. Italy is under attack because it is there, and because it is rightly regarded as the center of Western Christendom. Berlusconi is merely an excuse, just as "cowboy Bush" is an excuse when, in fact, it is the Infidel United States, and its Infidel people, who are threatened not only by Al-Qaeda, nor a hundred other groups, but by all those who are adherents of the doctrines of Jihad and dhimiitude -- which is, of course, almost all of the world's Muslims.

I remember Berlusconi's remarks about the superiority of Western civilization after 9/11. I also remember the awkward gasps of shock & disapproval from the PC world. Basically the guy was right. One only has to look around the world today. And Italy is a good example. The Roman empire might have fallen but Italy is a beautiful, creative, productive, and economically strong country. Total opposite to any Islamic country. Look at all the wonderful things Italy produces and exports around the world. What does Islam export? Hatred, evil, misery, death.

I hope no harm comes to Italy. Stay strong and safe, Italia! And say a great big "Vaffanculo!" to the Islamics.

Look at what he got up to - even if you argue away the child abuse of Aisha as being appropriate for the times, there's all that other basic intolerance, hatred and murder. The bombs are dropped to destroy enemy strongholds ,buildings of great significance to the enemy , training camps , propaganda media houses, etc, etc. Meanwhile our troops are on the ground on foot,in tanks,choppers,jeeps etc taking out insurgents. At the same time we have the most sophisticated intelligence crews as well as satellite vision (as I like to call it) so they can see what/who is coming at them and where from.

Iraq and Afghanistan may not have been the two countries directly linked with al qaeda and other terror groups, but they are certainly terror havens and had regimes which needed to be taken down before our forces concentrate on wiping the floor with the terrorist pawns. You may not think America or Europe has awakened yet, and to a degree I'd say you are correct, but a large number are wide awake and people such as the ones who regularly comment here at Jihad Watch and simular websites are working hard and constantly to ensure the rest of the western world wake up.That time is fast approaching, bare in mind we are already on top of things in the middle east and with the power and wealth behind us make a almost impossible adversary for the terrorist world, once the west fully awakens the end of radical islam is nigh.I'm not saying all muslims deserve to die, but just bear in mind if you are not with us you are against us.

The point of this comment to you is to say basically that I disagree with you and think that the war on terror is being handled pretty well, maybe not perfectly but we do have a lot of shit to deal with such as liberal media and political correctness.

As for all you said about Muhammed and his little girl wife, if thats the prophet you want to dedicate your every waking moment to then so be it . Just think do you really want to be part of the worlds largest death cult, or would you rather be part of a free society which encourages equality for people of all religions and nationalities.Muslims and communists are the only people on earth in this day and age that seem to be against freedom, and communism is almost extinct (just like the nazis), islam is next.
