Same Judge OK'ed Muslim Prayer
The same San Francisco federal judge who just overturned a federal law banning partial-birth abortions also approved of Muslim prayer in schools when federal rulings ban all other denominational prayers and activities.
In a December 2003 decision, U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton decided that it was lawful for a California middle school teacher to require students to recite Muslim prayers, get down on their knees and role-play as Muslim adherents.
As part of the class students were told to recite: "In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of Creation, The Compassionate, the Merciful, King of Judgment-day! You alone we worship, and to You alone we pray for help, Guide us to the straight path."
The Byron County 7th-grade world history teacher was sued by the parents of one of the students, who claimed that their child had been coerced to engage in a religious practice.
Hamilton, in a summary judgment, ruled that the teacher's actions were legal.
The teacher prepared a student guide which said that as part of the study of Islam "you and your classmates will become Muslims."
According to court documents, the teacher also read the Koran and Muslim prayers out loud in class and required students to recite lines of Muslim prayers in class as well.
Students also were told to recite Islamic prayers as they exited the class, including the Muslim refrain "In the name of God, most merciful, most gracious."
The teacher also assigned students to fast or give up something like TV for a day to experience Islam's month of Ramadan and one of its pillars of faith.
At the end of their Islamic studies, students also were required to write an essay on Islam. But, but the teacher instructed her students, "BE CAREFUL HERE – If you don't have something positive to say, don't say anything!!!"
In her ruling, Judge Hamilton threw out the parents' case, saying the religious role-playing was not tantamount to the exercise of religion and the school activities were not of a devotional or religious nature.

About 200 people gathered in front of a burned-out apartment building on the west side of Columbus yesterday to pray for the ten people who died there a week earlier.

The mourners held candles. The Reverend Jose Perez spoke about bad things that are hard to understand.

The mass was held beside a sidewalk shrine of flowers, teddy bears, toy racing cars and about 20 candles inside glasses painted with pictures of Catholic saints.

In the mass delivered in Spanish, Perez also told the crowd not to lose sight of faith in the pursuit of prosperity. He said they should value God more than money. Perez is pastor of Santa Cruz parish, which caters to the Spanish-speaking community.

The fire has been ruled an arson. Investigators have some leads but are releasing few details.

A judge has sent bond at three million dollars for a man charged in the execution-style slayings last year of three people at a house near the Ohio State campus.

Thirty-year-old Vernon Spence Junior was arrested Saturday night at his Columbus home as about 20 uniformed and plainclothes officers and members of the SWAT team surrounded the house.

He's charged with aggravated murder in the deaths of 21-year-old Kayla Hurst of Granville; her boyfriend, 23-year-old Aaron Grexa of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and 22-year-old Eric Hlass of Russellville, Arkansas.

Neighbors told police they heard shots then saw two men running through the alley behind the house.

Two other suspects reportedly have been arrested separately on unrelated federal charges. Police would not identify them.

His citizenship must be revoked. And the general problem of those who cannot possibly owe their loyalty to any Infidel nation-state, not even one that they regard as a future part of dar al-Islam, has to be discussed, not treated as either unnecessary or too impolite to discuss. This is hardly a matter for politeness. If some feelings are hurt, or some pretend that they are hurt, well, that is too bad. Obviously we aren't asking the correct questions BEFORE the citizenship oath is taken. The oath itself should be restructured so that that disloyalty can be ferreted out before hand and all should be made to understand the meaning and consequences of perjury in no uncertain terms.

Let's see. This man introduces a speaker on one video and calls out for contravutions to help orphans on the second video. The organization that he was fundraising for does in fact help orphans and widows. But because this country views them as a terrorist group, and perhaps they are, he is guilty.

I am fine with that. Why, because he is not guilty of being a part of the group, nor of being a recruiter for the group...he is guilty of contempt of court.

He said he was not affiliated with a terrorist group, and I say he views this group as other than a terrorist group, but due to the laws of our land he is guilty.

He recieved the sentence that he deserved according to the guidelines and there should be no complaints. justice was served.

Now, what about all the individuals and corporations who send millions of dallars to the terrorists who just blew up two men while they drove in their car? does not that country hold an entire populace not only in a grip of fear but also a grip of oppression?

My dear girl, I know yanks seem to think all brits talk with a poncy accent, but bare in mind I'm from mthe north where we're rough and ready and talk likeso (we miss words out and have avery common sounding dialect which makes stuck-up Londoners think we're thick as 2-short-planks... oh if only they knew).
But in spite of this , I can assure you us brits are quite capable of fighting whatever our social class (well some of us... well actually..just a few..... OKAY!!!OKAY!!!... hardly any, but the ones that can.....OH-Ma-Gosh!!!.

What kind of justice is that???

To me;terrorists (islamic ones in particular, as they have a culturally inserted habit of it, it's in their genes I'm sure of it) are as low as peadophiles and rapists, lower in fact, as many of the muslim jihad terrorists ARE Peadophiles and rapists.

They should be exucuted on a minimum of evidence, whether they actually killed anyone or not ( the intent is there, and always will be).

Just think of it as a pre-emptive death sentence:

If released after 2 months in jail they're gonna go right back to the "line of work" they were in before, and next time he/she may kill someone.Therefore their execution is justified in that, those uncommitted but all-too-possible terrorist bombings have been prevented.

PS- The ex-inhabitant of the imaginary realm of palestine; Imam Fawaz Damra,while in jail will, with a bit of luck, have a "heart attack" or "fall down 18 flights of stairs", or "choke on his food, that happened to have a razor blade in it", or in another likely prison death scenario, he could "go crazy and repeatedly batter his head and face with a gaurds truncheon, until his skull pulpifies and brain-matter dribbles out of his ears ,nostrils and mouth".

Without calling anyone out by name, I'll say that I'm more than willing to endure marathon posts, ridiculous comments, and just about everything else. However, I live in Ohio, and don't appreciate the bashing......Please don't force me to bash back.

Damra should be beaten on an hourly basis every day of his sentence. He should then be deported. Unfortunately, this asshole Judge, and our laws are a mess. Damra is fortunate that i don't work in the jail where he'll be staying.

Again, get off of Ohio.
