Jihad Watch reader Andrew2 attended a political debate in Munich yesterday and sent in this report:
Over a hundred and fifty people filled the auditorium of the Amerika Haus in Munich tonight to hear representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties abroad debate the issues. John McQueen of Democrats Abroad and Henry Nickel of the Republicans abroad were moderated by Patricia Guys, who read questions submitted by the audience. The US Consul to Bavaria, General Matthew Rooney, opened the debate with a short speech. He said that the US was an ally who helped Germany become an independent player on the world stage. He mentioned terrorism and said “Islamism or Jihadism as terrorism should be analyzed and defined”.
General Rooney, you're right. "Islamism" and "jihadism" should be defined. Pull up a chair and read awhile at Jihad Watch, and you may get a clearer idea of what they are.

"Islamism or Jihadism as terrorism should be analyzed and defined"
Excellent that they are doing this in public.
Ofcourse these concepts have been defined a long time ago. I am sure senior government officials know what these terms mean. I am hoping they don't take a thousand meeetings to come up with a definition (for the obvious) to be used publicly. The UN would never come up with a public definition as the arab league would prevent it. This has to be done outside of the UN.
Expect the left and muslim activists (i.e. islamists) to whine about racism during this public process. I think the media will still ignore it all, unless the politicians start using the real name for the enemy and its principle tool. The use of these terms has to be in the media's face for everyone to get the message. I think the world needs and is ready for this medicine.

I for one would be Very interested in seeing more about this debate, seeing as how Kerry's sister works for Democrats Abroad, and has recently tried to sabotage the Australian elections. Can we hope for a link to this debate in the future?

I agree that this is an exellent step forward it shows that Jihad is being recognised on a political level as a threat. We need more important ,outspoken people exposing this and establishing that it comes part and parcel with islamic terrorism, genocide of infidels, persecution of dhimmis, and the lesser known and infinitely more deadly demographic jihad.
Tony Blair , in his political speech yesterday did a marvellous job of explaning his efforts in Iraq, and how they were needed, as part of the war on terror.
He also hilighted that the same people doing the kidnappings , bombings and generally trying to tear apart the efforts of the coalition in Iraq are among us plotting terror on our own turf(hope your going to start deporting the scum-bags then Tone!!!), and that war against it is essential, they're not going to stop attacking us, so lets take the war to them.
From this speech I found a newfound respect for Blair, and think that anyone who critised his speech or protested against it was ignorant, and hadn't actually listened to the perfect logic of what is being said.
And while of course the usual suspects disected his speech "because of his lack of apologies in it (apologies for what, taking down a tyrant and not bending over and taking whatever islamic terror throws at us , up the shit-hole???)
it also made me realise the importance of making sure labour get in next time (or at least the conservatives) the Lib Dems would tear the UK apart, and not least because they are nowhere near on the same page regarding islamic terrorism as Tony Blair is.
And by their own arrogant self-righteousness, and self-loathing "tolerance" for all that want us dead, show how ridiculous their policies are ,and how deep in fantasy their ideals are.
These pathetic pushovers (liberals)are the enemies of the free-world they claim to be so dedicated to making (exept their free-world is one that is free for villians to do as they please rather than decent people), in fact they are just as much an enemy as muslims are.
The left-wing is opposite to the right-wing and the opposite to the right-wing is the wrong-wing.

Neanwhile, in the outside night, denizens of Munich walk up and down their restored streets. In the day, they sun themselves naked on the greenswards in the Englische Garten. They sit and drink beer chastened with lemonade, and look at the Chinese Pagoda, a 19th-century folly that looks just right. Yes, life continues, and no one really worries too much about the islamization of Germany, as no one worries in France, really, save for a very few.
The motto of Germany, of France, of the new and improved EU, is a blend of two sayings.
The first is that of Brecht: "Erst kommt das Fressen, dann kommt die Morale." (Grub first, then Ethics is how Auden translated it in his Commonplace Book, but perhaps it could be translated here as "Let's eat first, we'll think about the big stuff later.")
The second comes from Alfred E. Neumann: "What, me worry?"
And with those two lines to guide them, the Europeans sit and drink their beer, or eat their croque-monsieur, or bangers-and-mash, or pasta asciutta, and meanwhile, step by inexorable step, the Bilad al-kufr slowly but steadily self-islamizes, a frog being boiled, slowly turning up the heat on itself.
Fantastic.

And what would a German meal be without pork and beer?
And what would summer be without a naked romp in the sun on a Mediterranean beach?
"You must be kidding? Yes?"
Read the Koran. Examine demographic trends. Do the math on the percentage of Muslims in the EU after Turkey is admitted: 15% and rising. Examine laws and practices in countries where Muslims have political control. Consider that in Turkey there is Kemalism, and that it is losing ground. Consider that a global Jihad rages and probably more than half of the Muslims in Europe 'sympathize' with it. Consider that the aim of the global jihad is simply the aim of Islam: the spread and domination of Islam.
Again, read the Koran.
And then read Bat Ye'or. And read Hugh Fitzgerald's "Douce France", here in the DhimmiWatch archives.
Consider that even Bernard Lewis said that Europe would be Islamic in 50 years.
Sooner or later, the trains on the same track, heading in opposite directions, will collide, only Muslims are fully aware that a collision is inevitable, and Europeans, largely, do not.
The educated people of Europe are duped and getting jumped a second time by a horrible evil, in less than one hundred years. It happened once. This time is not exactly the same, but, then, things never are.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s advised the UN that it’ll be hosting a high-level, international “Anti-Terrorism Conference” in Riyad next February. As well as reviewing multilateral technical & intelligence exchanges and co-operative arrangements, it’ll be addressing money-laundering, gun-running and drug-smuggling; there’ll be representatives of governments and NGOs invited.
However, the State of Israel is fully OFF the guest-list. Indeed, in its announcement on Monday, the Kingdom squarely BLAMED the terrorism in the Middle East on… Israel, naturally.
This grand Confab’s an extra gambit by the House of Saud to ingratiate itself a bit better with Washington, for the moment, making a Great Show of being Strongly against Terrorism; but principally it’s being staged to advance one of its major objectives: abiding NO Definition of “Terrorism” being adopted by the UN - unless it’s that penned (with supreme tendentiousness) by the Arab League-dominated Organization of Islamic Conferences & Non Aligned Movement.
The Arabs’ description of “Terrorism” is A LOT MORE restricted than anything which a sane, informed, Westerner could see as acceptable - or deem to be even remotely functional, in order to, INDISPENSIBLY, confront Terrorism and defeat it. - It’s transparently INADEQUATE and COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE, by conscious design of its murderous, malevolent authors.
From the mid-‘70s, the Arabs have impeded that ESSENTIAL, the definition of “Terrorism” for the UN’s general application. After 1996, though, the Arab League/OIC-NAM bloc reinforced its obstructionism on this item. However, contumaciously, they’ve redoubled their strains in the last three years, since the Security Council passed Resolution #1373, requiring: “… all States to take steps to combat Terrorism”. - How can States ever do so (properly), if the sine-qua-non’s NOWHERE formally laid down for them, among the volumes of detailed, official codifications of the UN? They’re stalled until it’s concretely delineated: what is “Terrorism” - and what isn’t?
The UNSC Counter-Terrorism Committee remains hopelessly deadlocked and divided. The Arab & Moslem sphere, with its “non-aligned” slavies, on the one side, insist on their OWN - limited - version, excluding (inter alia) “armed struggle for liberation and self-determination”, i.e. “code” for legitimizing their ongoing, arch-genocidal, religio-ideologically-fuelled attacks on Israel.
But today, premeditatedly and purposely sapped for three decades on end by the Arabs and their running-dogs, riddled in its every degraded limb, corrupted, co-opted, distracted and subverted, the UN’s so LOST and so sclerotically degenerate in its arcane, convoluted, ossified procedures that, though it can agree on a further round of empty negotiations in October, no Member’s willing to defy convention and call a vote, before there’s a prior Consensus on the Committee.
This’d be quite IMPOSSIBLE to arrive at, lest the OIC-NAM become OFFENDED by “such unprecedented impugning of their Dignity”… and pull out of the Committee altogether - even (in particular, tense - imaginable - geo-political circumstances) out of the UN itself. - That (or the Democracies leaving) would finally finish it: as an institution, the UN’s worst current nightmare.
Accommodating, “calming”, the Arabs/Moslems has become the UN’s effective, top priority, beyond all else, for years; it’s expediently dumped its core Principles - with a decidedly Negative result, across the planet, long ago. In addition to it being much easier, the UN’d far rather do NOTHING at all, than anything that could ever be interpreted by the tetchy Arab & Moslem BULLIES and EXTORTIONISTS as “insensitive” (and NEVER “insulting”).
Back in 1999, the UN set up a “Sanctions Committee”, to operate pursuant to Anti-Terrorism Resolution #1267. In its five years of sessions, it’s named NOT ONE country that’s in breach, nor offered ANY action or direction on its topic. No doubt, the House of Saud and its cronies and grovellers’ve found this paralysis satisfactory, at least for now.
Of course, they’d always prefer to have things THEIR -perverse and bloody - way and, to assist in this eventuating, they’re endeavouring to soft-soap and sweeten the “international community” with their deceitful overtures. The scheming Arabs are well aware that this naďve and timorous “international community”’s Unhappy about the horrible images - blamed on America - beaming in daily from Iraq, severely intruding on the serene complacency of its Utopia.
Therefore - mendaciously insinuating that it’ll conclude the fighting there and, further, do much to stem Terrorism overall - at the tail of their proclamation of their Riyad Conference, the Saudis summoned for “due consideration and follow-up” of their devious notion, mouthed about half a year ago, to deploy “Islamic forces, under UN supervision” in Iraq, to take over there, as “peace-keepers”, from the US-led Coalition - which, as they arrive in-country, ought then to promptly, (ignominiously) depart (from Iraq and from the region), forthwith....
