Osama threatens US states, complains of success of terror war, and endorses a candidate! US media: zzzzzzzzzz

Yesterday I put up a link to MEMRI's story on the Osama video, which includes a significant detail left out of major media coverage: Osama threatened US states that voted for Bush, and offered a dhimmi guarantee of safety to those that voted for Kerry.

I also put up a link to a New York Post report about another element of the video that eluded American media coverage: Osama complained that anti-terror efforts had hindered his activities.

I just checked them all again: ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Drudge. Not a word about any of this. These are the people who have been quick to publicize reports that if France could vote, it would vote for Kerry. Very well; why then is it irrelevant that if Osama could vote, he would vote for Kerry too?

In any case, most Americans will vote tomorrow without knowing that Osama has said any of this. But will that keep Osama from proclaiming that a Kerry victory is a victory for the global jihad and the assumption of dhimmi status by the USA? Don't bet on it.

Why does that matter? Some will say, of course, that there won't be any victory for the global jihad, no matter which candidate wins: both have pledged to fight terrorists. True, but nonetheless it matters a great deal. The perception that America has followed Spain into dhimmitude could become the cause of a worldwide explosion (so to speak) of jihadist activity from mujahedin who have renewed evidence to believe that they are facing a paper tiger — just as Osama himself did after the Black Hawk incident in Somalia.

UPDATE: At least Drudge has now put up a small (no screaming headline, no siren) link to this New York Post story about the MEMRI piece.

The main stream media has a shameless liberal bias. That's come out in this election more clearly than ever before.

But I doubt that bias extends to Fox and Drudge. I know that I really don't want to think that a piece of shit like Osama influences our election one way or the other. Maybe they feel the same way at Fox.

FOX has me puzzled also. Of course, it might be that we have been hearing for so long that they are a biased, right-wing news group, that one would think they would put this up to help Bush.

Apparently that is incorrect.

How would we get our "dhimmi receipt"?

Give bin laden credit -- he is very politically savvy. This is more like the nexus of political art and science raised exponentially.

Bush loses -- bin laden wins
Kerry loses -- bin laden wins

His gamble is going to win a jackpot no matter how the dice are tossed!

...oh, one more thing ... its supposed to be OUR election is it not ????

Posted by: witness [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 9:27 AM

FOX has broken the story that Bin Laden says he will be "monitoring" the US election and the veiled threats against states that vote for Bush. Orrin Hatch was all over the story and mentioned correctly that Osama clearly prefers Kerry.

“Osama threatened US states that voted for Bush”

I have some observations;
Isn’t “Americans” also known as the UNITED states?
Is the states divided on the election, but UNITED against this aggressive tactic?
If Osama follows through with this threat, will the resolve to fight terrorists increase no matter who wins the election?
Should this threat wake up the PC politicians and righteous babysitters? I should think so.
Should this threat wake up more of the citizens? I should think so.
The rest of the free world should wake up to the fact this threat succeeded in Spain and is being used in all the free countries. The longer these jihadist/terrorists are allowed to pursue their agenda, the larger the war will be to stop it. Why wait? It is very clear, the time to stop it is NOW!!!

In the traditions of Catherine (You go girl) I thought this just released FBI transcript of the American Jihadists Al Qaeda Video Tape may be a good read.

The FBI has just posted a transcript of the clip of an interview with "Azzam the American", shown earlier this week on ABC.

The transcript is shown below:

TEXT TRANSCRIPT OF VIDEO CLIP INTERVIEW WITH ‘AZZAM THE AMERICAN

Interviewer:

"You are an American who has joined a movement for waging war on America and killing large numbers of Americans. Don't you in any way feel you are betraying your people and country?"

Mujahid 'Azzam, the American:

"First of all, the allegiance and loyalty of a Muslim is to Allah, his Messenger, his religion and his fellow believers before anyone and anything else. So, if there is a conflict between his religion and his nation and family, then he must choose the religion every time. In fact, to side with the unbelievers against Islam and Muslims is one of the acts that nullifies one's Islamic faith and there's a verse in the Qur'an (recites a verse from the Qur'an in Arabic) you will not find any people who believe in Allah in the last day loving, loving those who resist Allah and his Messenger.

"Even if they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred or their clan. As such he has written faith in their hearts and strengthens them with spirit from himself. So, some of the early Muslims fought and killed their closest relatives during battle, prompting the revelation of this verse. And, even our Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, er, fought, uh, and after a lot of defeat the Quraish tribe, to which he belonged. when it fought to impede Islam's propagation, sought to impede the message of Islam, rejected the message of Islam, and sought to impede its propagation. And some of the staunchest enemies of Islam were from among his closest cousins like Abu Jahl. Thus, Allah's religion takes precedence over all else: Wealth, status, family and nationality."

Interviewer:

“OK, how do you respond to the Muslim clerics and governments around the world who say that you are a small fringe group of extremists, unrepresentative of Islam and the majority of peace-loving Muslims?”

Mujahid 'Azzam, the American:

“Well, they would say that, wouldn't they? These Crusader pawns are the ones who don't represent Islam and Muslims, despite their claims to the contrary. And they know very well that the Mujahidin stature has increased substantially among the Muslims after September 11, and the events that followed, which poses a direct threat to their continuing hold on power. This argument of theirs is especially well liked by their masters in the White House and 10 Downing Street, who apply it not just to us, but to all Muslims who reject Crusader domination. Uh, but the truth in evidence is on our side. Open the Qur'an, open the books of Sirah, the prophetic biography, and Ahadith, the prophetic teachings. Open the books of Fiqh, jurisprudence, both modern and ancient and you will find our position well supported. Jihad isn't something that al-Qa’ida made up. Ruling by Islam law wasn't started by the Taliban. Hamas didn't invent the concept of martyrdom. Uh, where we differ from these defeatists and hypocrites is that we don't believe that these divine orders and principles are open to negotiation and compromise.

“I'd like to tell these people, this is our religion. If you don't like it, that's your problem. But don't tell me that you're the true Muslim and I'm the extremist. You know, the same clerics and people who call us violent extremists and outcasts and endlessly repeat that Islam is a peaceful faith, permit or even encourage their followers to join the American and European militaries and intelligence agencies and the armies of the idle kings in the Muslim world and take part in the killing of thousands of Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. So in effect, they're saying that for the Muslim to kill unbelievers in defense of Islam and Muslims is unacceptable, and if he does so, he's an extremist. While for the same Muslim to kill fellow Muslims in the name of America and so-called freedom and the supposedly civilized world is just fine and dandy and he will be practicing moderation.

“Look at this logic. These are evil, uneducated, ignorant, backwards people who should not be speaking on behalf of Muslims, much less talking about what is true Islam and what is not and accusing others. We are defending those who have no defender. We are holding fast to genuine Islam at a time when it's under siege from all sides. And we're standing up to confront an enemy that has intimidated governments and international organizations with fear. It's only natural that the governments and individuals who stand the most to lose from the defeat of the crusaders and Zionists will seek to hide our true nature and goals from the Muslim majority that is desperately looking for a way out of the nightmare that these traitors have imposed upon them for decades.

“We have strong support from within all sectors of Muslim society and from within all Islamic groups. This is what terrifies the enemies of truth and causes them to resort to this sort of accusation. It's wishful thinking on their part. It's like they're telling themselves, ‘Maybe if we repeat the lie often enough, it will come true.’"

Letter to Families - Dated 19 October 2004

Hello again, after a long hiatus. Last 6 weeks or so have been busy as we worked to establish the new battalions in their areas of operations and worked to get the "old' battalions home. 3/7, 2/7, and 1st LAR are all safely home and on their block leave period. 1/7, 1/23, and 3d LAR have assumed their battle space and continue to perform superbly. The enemy, as e expected, is surging as we approach the U.S. and Iraqi election period and enter Ramadan. Enemy activity in this AO has picked up, to the enemy's etriment. They are not very smart, and when they decide to come out and fight, are easily killed. His patterns remain the same as we saw in April: ove 50-150 terrorists into a city or community, use terror and intimidation to assume control, kill and maim local citizens, get his picture taken with hs RPG and AK-47, then wait to see himself on the evening news.
Interesting side note to ask how often you see pictures of these guys posturing and how often you see pictures of them fighting. Then compare that to how often you see pictures of U.S. servicemen fighting and how often you see pictures of them posturing. Provides a good metric for who is winning this thing: the enemy postures when the cameraman is present, but when it comes to fighting he is the most base of cowards. You don't see many images of these guys fighting because they're too busy hiding or running once the fighting starts. They're much more comfortable beheading innocents. Side note also demonstrates how, with the best of intentions and within the rightful bounds of our constitution, the press becomes unwitting collaborators in the enemy's information operations campaign. This is a
fight for the will of the American and the Iraqi people. He targets the Iraqis through murder and intimidation; he targets you through the images.
Anyway..we have fought him well in a number of engagements over the past week or so. TF 1/23, 1/8 and 2d Force Recon Co performed magnificently in
an operation in the city of Hit that killed 30 or so terrorists without harming an innocent Iraqi and restored both security and governance to a city taken over by the bastards for a 72 hour period last week. Of greater significance, the 503d Iraqi National Guard Bn fought as the RCT-7 main effort, were the first
ones into the city, and remains there today providing security for the community.
The enemy chased out of Hit moved into the city of Rawah about 50 miles west, TF 1/8 and an Iraqi Army Unit hunted them down there, killed 10-15
more and restored that community to its citizens. In other parts of the AO, Iraqi police and National Guard and Border Police have fought off numerous
attacks on their own...in my mind the most striking example of the progress we continue to make across the AO. The enemy cannot maintain this surge for
long: the Iraqi people are rapidly tiring of him, the Iraqi Security Forces are fighting back, and we are killing them with stunning regularity. He
surges in order to influence the American and Iraqi elections; when both proceed as planned, his efforts will begin to crumble. We now have 2 police
academies, 2 ING training academies, and 2 Iraqi Border Police Training Academies operational. We continue to see the fruits of these efforts in
The increasing professionalism, confidence, and competence of the Iraqi Security Forces. Firefights are dramatic and make the news; but where we are going
to win this is through the establishment of viable Iraqi Security Forces. It is a challenging road, fraught with friction, but every day we see progress.
Training ISF remains our main effort and will continue to be both our main effort and our ultimate ticket home with victory. The civil effort
continues apace also. Our most significant current effort is the construction of the hospital in Ar Rutbah..a $1M effort that will provide medical services to a
community currently 4 hours away from the closest medical care. Your Marines and Sailors continue to perform with courage and intellect in this most
complex and ambiguous of conflicts.

We are anxiously awaiting election day in the hopes that the media picture and national dialogue will transition from the subjectivity of politics to
the objectivity of national interest. Building a democracy is a dirty business-has been throughout the history of democracy from ancient Greece through the present day. Regard our national effort here through the prism of that reality. RCT-7 remembers the sacrifices of LCpls A. R. Boyles and R. Mateo, KIA 24 Sep 2004 vic Fallujah; Cpl. I.T. Zook, KIA 12 Oct 2004 vic Husaybah; Cpl W.I. Salazar KIA 15 Oct 2004 vic Husaybah; Sgt Owen, U.S. Army, KIA 15 Oct 2004 vic Husaybah; SPC J. Santos, U.S. Army, KIA 15 Oct 2004 vic Husaybah. Please remember their families in your prayers. Share your Courage. And stand fast.

Tariq Ramadan is radioactive. Speak to any Christian in the Arab world, and "roadkill" is the nicest thing you'll hear about him. For the left – especially the far left – the grandson of the founder of the incendiary Muslim Brotherhood, the most important Islamist movement of the 20th century, is just in from a little stroll on the Sea of Galilee.

For France's influential Jewish intellectuals – Bernard-Henri Levy, Andre Glucksmann, Bernard Kouchner – Ramadan is a dangerously skillful anti-Semite. Mr. Ramadan was scheduled to begin teaching Islam, conflict resolution and peace-building at Indiana's Notre Dame University this month. It was to be a tenured post. But his visa was rescinded by the Department of Homeland Security.
In a televised debate with France's then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy late last year, Mr. Ramadan declined to condemn "lapidation" – the stoning of adulterous wives as mandated by a strict interpretation of the Koran. Instead, Mr. Ramadan said he favored a "moratorium" in the practice.
A multimillionaire from the sale of countless thousands of cassettes of his mesmerizing sermons, Mr. Ramadan is lionized by the jobless North African slum-dwellers that cling barnaclelike to France's major cities. The neo-Marxist, anti-globalization left has also hitched its bandwagon to his star status in French-speaking Europe.
Swiss-born, this handsome 42-year-old is a resident of Geneva, which the U.N.'s European headquarters has made the smallest international city in the world. Banned in France by one interior minister as a dangerous provocateur, he was reinstated by the next interior minister. Mr. Ramadan's apocalyptic, nihilistic vision appears to some as a scene setter for the center-stage appearance of Osama bin Laden Superstar.
The author of a dozen books, Mr. Ramadan lets fly staccato-style, at the speed of an AK-47 on full automatic, quotations from Nietzsche, Heidegger and the Koran to prove a central point: Decadent Europe will give way to an Islamized Europe.
The 21st century, he says, will see a second role reversal between Islam and the West: "The West will begin its new decline, and the Arab-Islamic world its renewal" and ascent to seven centuries of world domination after seven centuries of decline.
The fully European Islam, he predicts, presupposes a violent upheaval against the Western values Mr. Ramadan rejects. But he quickly cushions the supposition with hosannas to democracy and free expression. He is a past master of dissimulation and disinformation.
"To Be a European Muslim," published in 1999, was translated into 14 languages. The European Parliament consults him as an expert voice of reason in a cacophony of extremist epithets.
Criticism of this Islamist intellectual troubadour is quickly rejected as Islamophobia. Mr. Ramadan speaks the language of Europe's intellectual left. A frequent lecturer in U.S. universities, his brilliantly articulate perorations mesmerize his liberal fans.
"Only Islam can achieve the synthesis between Christianity and humanism, and fill the spiritual void that afflicts the West." All good people are implicitly Muslims, he maintains, "because true humanism is founded in Koranic revelations."
"Today the Muslims who live in the West must unite themselves to the revolution of the anti-establishment groups from the moment when the neoliberal capitalist system becomes, for Islam, a theater of war" is another thunderclap that says "jihad" to his detractors and sweet reasonableness to his fans.
Marxism failed because it slavishly followed the dictates of a bunch of aging klutzes in Moscow, according to the Ramadan school. Islam, Ramadan says, can now bring forth a body of values that would form the embodiment of this universal vocation.
This, in turn, would replace the values of Western civilization. Islam-centric thinking thus replaces Eurocentric rearview mirror nostalgia for what was once a great civilization.
Muslim identity is the only true source of universality, proclaims Tariq Ramadan. "It will fill the spiritual void that afflicts the West." Music to some, but a hidden Islamist agenda to the Department of Homeland Security. Some would say not so well-hidden.

This election will either show that the American Spirit is alive and well or it is diminishing. Personally, I believe we will be seeing a tremendous rising of Conservatism in this nation after tomorrow and the Liberal maniacs both in the Press and in Washington and elsewhere will have to finally understand that their tirades and slanted visions will not put an end to the United States of America just yet.

Iran Parliament OKs Nuke Enrichment Bill
NewsMax Wires
Monday, Nov. 1, 2004
TEHRAN, Iran -- To shouts of "Death to America," Iran's parliament unanimously approved the outline of a bill Sunday that would require the government to resume uranium enrichment, legislation likely to deepen an international dispute over Iran's nuclear activities.

Still, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Hossein Mousavian told The Associated Press there was a 50 percent chance of a nuclear compromise with European nations. He ruled out an indefinite suspension of key enrichment activities - a concession that European negotiators have sought - but suggested Iran would consider calling a halt to building more nuclear facilities.
The talks with the Europeans aim at averting a standoff over Iran's nuclear weapons program at a Nov. 25 meeting of the U.N. nuclear watchdog.
The Europeans have offered to provide nuclear fuel and technology if Tehran reins in its ambitions to develop its own fuel - by creating enrichment facilities that can be used for peaceful purposes or for creating weapons.
Some lawmakers broke out with shouts of "Death to America!" after the conservative-dominated parliament after lawmakers voted to advance the nation's nuclear program, an issue of national pride that provides a rare point of agreement between conservatives and reformers.
Parliament speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel called Sunday's vote a message to the world.
"The message of the absolute vote for the Iranian nation is that the parliament supports national interests," he said. "And the message for the outside world is that the parliament won't give in to coercion."
Requirement
The legislation said the goverment is "required to make use of scientists and the country's facilities ... in order to enable the country to master peaceful nuclear technology, including the cycle of nuclear fuel."
Another vote is expected on the bill when details are worked out, but that is usually a formality. A date for the second vote was not immediately set.
Washington has pushed hard for Iran to drop its nuclear program, which Tehran maintains is for peaceful energy purposes. The United States, which has secured some support from European nations, accuses Iran of trying to build nuclear weapons.
Mousavian, Iran's top nuclear negotiator told the AP some progress "definitely" was made during last week's talks with Europeans, who he said "showed flexibility and understanding."
Britain, Germany and France have warned that most European states will back Washington's call to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council for possible economic sanctions if Tehran doesn't give up all uranium enrichment activities before a Nov. 25 meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
"I see the chance of a compromise before November (25th) as 50-50," Mousavian said.
In two rounds of talks in Vienna, Austria, the Europeans offered Iran a trade deal and peaceful nuclear technology - including a light-water research reactor - in return for assurances Iran would indefinitely stop enriching uranium. Mousavian said a third round of talks is planned, but not yet scheduled.
"We have rejected two possibilities: cessation and unlimited suspension," he said. "We told the Europeans if your target is cessation, it will be impossible. But we are flexible if your proposal is balanced."
"The package should define a timetable," he said.
Mousavian indicated Iran is willing to consider a moratorium on building more nuclear facilities, which it would need to produce enough fuel for additional power plants. Iran already has facilities in Isfahan and Natanz, but Iranian officials say that at full capacity they would only be able to supply one power plant.
"It will take a minimum of five years for Iran to provide fuel for one nuclear power plant," Mousavian said. "If they guarantee nuclear fuel, we would welcome it. It will be the best guarantee not to go for expansion."
Uranium enriched to a low level can be used to produce nuclear fuel. If enriched further it can be used to make nuclear weapons.
Iran is not prohibited from enriching uranium under its obligations to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty but faces growing international pressure to suspend such activities as a good-faith gesture.
Iran, which repeatedly has refused to give up its nuclear program, last year suspended actual uranium enrichment. However, Tehran has rejected demands that it stop all other activities related to enrichment, such as building centrifuges.

Kerry Stepson: Jewish Lobby Too Powerful
John Kerry's stepson, Chris Heinz, complained at a recent campaign stop that Jews have too much influence on the U.S. presidential election.
"One of the things I've noticed is the Israel lobby," the ketchup heir said, in quotes picked up Sunday by the New York Post. Heinz complained that Israel was being treated as "the 51st state, sort of a swing state."
In more overheated rhetoric first reported by Philadelphia magazine, Heinz called Bush supporters "our enemies" and said that if he ran his stepfather's campaign, the attacks on President Bush would get even uglier.
"We didn't start out with negative ads calling George Bush a cokehead," Heinz reportedly explained before adding, "I'll do it now."
Asked later about the comment, Heinz turned sarcastic, saying: "I have no evidence. He never sold me anything."

bin Laden has taken himself far to seriously. No one is going to change their vote because some insect threatens them on tape from a shithole country half way around the globe.

He's a lame duck in hiding. All Middle Easterners in America are under a watch whether they know it or not. Whether they believe it or not. These cut-throat cockroaches can't be viewed as anything but trouble.

bin Laden has had his ass handed to him, courtesy of our military, so let him send all the tapes he wants.....

Please, MEMRI's article on this is a joke. Either the translators they are using have no real understanding of popular usage of the Arabic language, or they are being disingenious to promote a partisan agenda. I'll leave that for you to decide. All I shall say, as someone who understands Arabic, is that the conclusions they make are extremely weak.

For any Arabic speakers around, check it out for yourself. The full transcript in Arabic is available here.

For non-Arabic speakers, maybe read this article to understand what's wrong with the MEMRI translation.

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 5:23 PM

Al-jazeera has made the full transcript available:

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/79C6AF22-98FB-4A1C-B21F-2BC36E87F61F.htm

Here are some key excerpts I collected:

...the Bush administration has also gained, something of which anyone who looks at the size of the contracts acquired by the shady Bush administration-linked mega-corporations, like Haliburton and its kind, will be convinced. And it all shows that the real loser is...you.

...they say, "How mistaken we were to have allowed the White House to implement its aggressive foreign policies against the weak without supervision."

...And know that, "It is better to return to the truth than persist in error." And that the wise man doesn't squander his security, wealth and children for the sake of the liar in the White House.

In conclusion, I tell you in truth, that your security is not in the hands of Kerry, nor Bush, nor al-Qaida.
No.

Your security is in your own hands. And every state that doesn't play with our security has automatically guaranteed its own security.

Posted by: Rublev [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 5:24 PM

Chan'ad,

Your arguement falls flat. The translation from which I posted excerpts is from the Al-jazeera website (Partisan? Yes. Bush-friendly? Bwahahahahaha!).

Bin Laden is basically telling Americans is that regardless of who wins, the red states are dead meat. What he falls to understand is that Americans are not the same as the Euroweenies.

Posted by: Rublev [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 5:31 PM

Rublev, yes the quotes you took are fine, but that's not what I'm contesting.

I'm contesting MEMRI's claim that when OBL used the word "wilaya" he was referring to "state" like Tennesee. Rather, if you read the whole text in Arabic it obvious he is using the word to sovereign entities, like Sweden (which he also mentions). Actually, in the MEMRI article they claim that OBL said the phrase "ay wilaya" which doesn't agree with the Al-Jazeera text in Arabic which says "kul wilaya". So either MEMRI and AlJ are watching different tapes, or one of them has screwed up.

MEMRI then proceed to back up their claim by quoting some random Islamist website which may or may not have any relation whatsoever with OBL.

Really, if any of you out there are any other native Arabic speakers, then please go read the text for yourself.

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 5:48 PM

May or may not have any relation to Osama? This conflict isn't about OSAMA, thank you. This is about the culture of Islam vs the rest of the world. Most of us here get that now. Please do not insult our collective intelligence with trying to prop up Osamas words with "he really meant that not this" and telling us how we fail to translate him correctly or MEMRI fails to translate him correctly -- frankly, the intent of his ill-timed tape release needs no translation.

Any and all people that threaten the future, sanctity and safety of future generations of Americans can rely on one thing -- you won't need to have our actions translated for you.

Posted by: Foehammer [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:04 PM

Oh and one more thing. I just read footnote #3 of the MEMRI article. It reads:

"Wilaya" refers specifically to a U.S. state; it would never refer to an independent country. The term for such a country is "Dawla."
Wow! Either these guys no nothing about Arabic, or they are lying right through their teeth. Although MEMRI gets partial credit for knowing that "wilaya" CAN refer to a US state, it is by no means the ONLY meaning of the term.

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:07 PM

Typo in my previous comment. It should read: "These guys know nothing..."

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:10 PM

Chan'ad,

You might be right (If only Arabic were not SOOOO
DIFFICULT), but even if MEMRI is lying, the other portions of the speech provided by Al-Jazeera show that Bin Laden is using talking points from the left to dissuade Americans from voting for Bush.

Posted by: Rublev [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:11 PM

Foehammer,
I agree with you that it's not about Osama, and the Islamist website that MEMRI quotes from shows how screwed up these Islamists are. However, if it's not about Osama then MEMRI shouldn't feel the need to spin the video transcript and fool non-Arabic speakers into thinking that OBL said something he didn't. They should instead have just quoted the Islamist website.

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:18 PM

Rublev, sure. I get the impression that OBL doesn't want Americans to vote for Bush also (that shouldn't really surprise anyone). I just have a problem with MEMRI's ridiculous translation that he's specifically threatening red states with attacks.

Posted by: Chan'ad [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:23 PM

Rublev:

...the Bush administration has also gained, something of which anyone who looks at the size of the contracts acquired by the shady Bush administration-linked mega-corporations, like Haliburton and its kind, will be convinced.

Further proof that Osama relies on idiots like Michael Moore for his information.

According to Halliburton's recently-released quarterly earnings statement, they made a profit of $4 million on $1.2 billion in revenues from their operations in Iraq.

That's a 0.3% profit margin.

Posted by: lobo91 [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 1, 2004 6:52 PM

You guys are ostriches, blinded by your agenda's.

Well the election is over, I don't know the outcome but the truth is that Osama voted for Bush

This is what Imad Khadduri,( a former Iraqi nuclear scientist with the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission from 1968-1998. He is author of the book Iraq's Nuclear Mirage} said October 7th on Democracy Now

Six months ago, when there was the Spain Madrid train bombing and ten days later the Al Qaeda issued a statement on that, that was six months ago. They said, we will ask all operations to be halted in Spain, giving the Spanish people the chance to vote and perhaps withdraw, and they did. Now, the second part of that statement, declaration, was not published, was not widespread in the west. I did translate it and send it to the Toronto Star. It wasn't published there. What did it say? In it Osama Bin Laden was hoping, was saying to Bush "I really wish that you would win next November election, because you are the only one who can convince the Muslims of the -- of the -- with your -- with your intransigence and violent approach, it will convince the Muslims that American military postures and foreign policy is against their interests. Therefore I have asked all operations to be suspended from the United States until the election. And after that, every event will have its own discourse."

SourceInterview with Imad Khadduri

In the recent video tape, Osama is wearing a gold robe, and seems to suffer from megalomania, maybe he thinks he is the Islamic savior The Mehdi.

But it is obvious that he needs Bush, with Bush as his enemy his prestige only grows, and the more Bush kicks the Muslim hive, the more hornets and hornets nest he creates.

Is that what you idiots want?

Meanwhile our economy, our standard of living, is going down, while the very dangerous (for revolution purposes) gap between classes and races is increasing.

If the crap hits the fan you can guys can pat yourselves on the back.

Your blinders and single minded agenda, will produce and I guarantee it unintended adverse consequences.

What's with all the fuss,Michael Moore says there is no terrorist threat to America,Moore wouldn't lie just to make millions of a movie that was filled with inaccurate facts constructed
by the "Cut and paste" method done in Mock-u-mentary's to get laughs.

The Osama tape is fake and it was the Jewish Mossad that worked with Bush to justify the Iraq war,the fact that the U.N. declared they couldn't confirm Saddam "Didn't" destroy the WMD's or "DID" destroy them shouldn't confuse
the issue with these trivial facts.

Chan'ad,

My apologies for thinking you were trying to whitewash the translation. You have a right to feel concerned about MEMRI's translation. This is an important service we depend on, and when I send copies to many people emphasizing the mistakes (or spin) MEMRI made, they will not even believe the other true parts of the evidence that OBL wants to persuade Americans to vote against Bush.

Spain is not subserviant to the Jihad. It's socialist government has went on to kick jihadist ass in Spain and to also beef up it's contribution to Afghanistan.

The delusional morons of the jihad cannot control the democratic process in America thus we must not become delusional with them.

John Kerry will do a splendid job in routing the jihad globally and I have more trust in American democracy than I do fear of a jihad. Democracy will over come fear mongering , even if it is carried out by the sitting Vice President of the United States. The Bush Administration will find out the the American people collectively will not be terrorised or intimidated into voting for anyone. In that regard Bush and Bin Laden are standing shoulder to shoulder with each other on the same side of the fence opposing John Kerry on the other side of the fence with the brave American public.

I suspect Osama Bin Laden may have entered in to a truce with George W. Bush to the effect of " if-you-don't-kill-or-capture-me-I-will-not-order-attacks-in-America". Thus we are in a " win.win" situation where Bush can boast he has stopped terrorist attacks in America and Bin Laden is still at large. He knows a thing or two about reverse psycology as well. He is showing him self now as an opponet of Bush just so people will vote for Bush.

And just because any particular media outlet does not take on an extreme right wing view of things does not make in " liberal bias ". The fact of the matter is all media has a capitalist bias.

The ultra conservative jihadist are on the eve of doom and so are the America conservatives who need them to justify themselves are politically doomed as well.

I don't know how I made it through college and graduate school with a fried brain (compliments of my religious indoctrination)but I guess we braindead Republicans are so well-connected, we can make things happen!
This country was built on Judeo/Christian principles and until the advent of leftist moral relativity, multiculturalism, revisionist history, rabid anti-Americanism and requisite self-hate, we were doing just fine. This country went to hell with the disgusting elitist agenda to fix everything that isn't broken. These enlightened intellectuals know what is best for the ignorant masses, and intend to repair society's ills with a progressive social engineering program that will produce a univeral utopian society.
If I'm not mistaken, the last time such a colossal endeavor was attempted it was a dismal failure.
You are a typical, liberal doomsday prognosticator. You wouldn't recognize anything positive or laudable if it landed in your lap. My standard of living has consistently improved, and I'm braindead. You enlightened liberals with superior intellects and visionary acumen should quit worrying about saving the third world and save yourselves, providing you aren't already billionaires, compliments of inherited money earned by your greedy capitalist ancestors.
I see no vast disparities or "gaps" between races and classes. Anybody can get out there and bust ass; I did. Everyone has equal opportunities. The State is not God, except to people like you. Maybe you should find another idol to worship.

Chan'ad, self-described as one who "understands Arabic," and who further refers readers here to a website, AbuAardvark, that appears to be the work of someone fluent in English (and possibly with a native command of Arabic, but that is not clear) insists that the MEMRI translation is faulty. Never having discovered a single fault in the scrupulous work of MEMRI's translators, who are completely fluent in Arabic, I find this hard to believe.

Today there is another MEMRI offering, and in it an Egyptian commentator and writer, Dr. Mahmoud Fandy, in Al-Ahram, is quoted as follows:

"Bin Laden's speech was restricted to technical issues of U.S. foreign policy and its relations with the Middle East. In addition, it was restricted to an attempt to influence the voters in every [U.S.] state, with [bin Laden] stating that [each] state is responsible for its own security by means of its vote - and bin Laden's lack of understanding of the internal situation in the U.S. is [yet another] issue, which I will not elaborate on here."

Now, Chan'ad may tell us that yet again MEMRI has made a mistake, and that the interpolated [U.S] before the word "state" is not really being done for the purposes of clarity, but to mislead readers.

But a moment's thought shows that this makes no sense. For Fandy writes that the speech was restricted entirely to matters dealing with the U.S., and "restricted to an attempt to influence the voters in every" -- "state" meaning U.S. state? Or "state" as in a "country"? Fandy clearly thinks it means U.S. state -- the whole point is that it is a speech of capitulation, of Bin Laden admitting that he wants a long hudna, that he feels he is on the run (just as the "Paletinian" leader Arafat changes his tone depending on how beaten he feels, but as soon as he is out of immediate danger, as when the Americans helped arrange his rescue from Beirut, he immediately changes tone -- "at your feet or at your throat" was a famous phrase the British borrowed from elsewhere to apply to how the Arabs and Muslims treated them).

It would make no sense for Fandy to be saying that Bin Laden's speech was "restricted to influence the voters in every country" -- that has no relevance now, and Fandy would not have employed the Arabic for "restricted."

It is Chan'ad who needs to rethink the philological niceties here.

Don't be fooled. Bin Laden is just ONE of the many, a pit viper that has crawled away to replenish his venom only to strike again at the first opportunity as that's his nature! A long hudna will have the same result as have all the others during the the sorry history of Islam's dealings with neighbors --- upon the regaining of strength and advantage, they always rose to crush their neighbors, kidnap and enslave, and to rape and pillage. Political niceties are a luxury in a struggle for survival.

Nice try, partisan Jihadwatch:

http://www.slate.com/id/2108954/

You Spoke Too Soon, MEMRI! A bit of evidence that supports MEMRI's "state by state" translation of Osama bin Laden's latest video, from a 2001 the description of a 1996 interview he gave to, yes, Robert Fisk:

"Intelligent - and eloquent in Arabic - bin Laden undoubtedly is. But his understanding of foreign affairs is decidedly eccentric. At one point, he even suggested to me that individual US states might secede from the Union because of Washington's support for Israel. [Emphasis added]"

In other words, it may not be that bin Laden's so in touch with American politics that he's reading RealCLearPolitics and counting up electoral votes. He may be so out of touch that he hasn't learned about the Civil War. ... This suggests that while MEMRI's translation may be accurate, the focus of both MEMRI and the NY Post on the current presidential election may be misplaced. Bin Laden may not be offering protection to a state that votes against Bush. He may not be talking about the election at all. He may be looking past the election and attempting to offer protection to states that secede, or follow their own foreign policies. ... P.S.: Note that this interpretation would both fit the translation and explain why bin Laden seemingly lumps Kerry and Bush together. He's not trying to get votes for either man. ... [Thanks to alert reader P.C.] 10:57 P.M.

Hitchens:

"Life and politics will persist, in this republic, while the republic's enemies will continue to be toxic and lethal and protean. Neither electoral outcome can alter that. It's absurd for liberals to talk as if Kristallnacht is impending with Bush, and it's unwise and indecent for Republicans to equate Kerry with capitulation. There's no one to whom he can surrender, is there? I think that the nature of the jihadist enemy will decide things in the end."

Mega, once Bush is re-elected, can we expect you to back him? Or continue to be a pessimist, about the war on terrorism, about your country, about the truth?

Do you know how long Carlos the Jackal ran free? I mean, kerry's favorite country, France, took years to catch him- and he was far more visible than Bin Laden. He practically flaunted it and they couldn't get hold of him. Now you want us to believe an organization at least 10 years in the making (mostly during the Clinton admin), can't do an even better job than Carlos did?

martin -

do you have any more details about WHY Theo Van Gogh was murdered by islamists? The BBC suggested it was because of a short film he directed but didn't give details.

I also read that he was an actor in a film called TERRORAMA! in which he played a religious maniac reading from the Koran (a scene played for comedy.) That sounds the kind of thing that gets you shot 10 times by a muslim Roger Ebert.

Van Gogh was regarded as a controversial radical filmmaker (almost a kind of Dutch Michael Moore.) This wasn't someone who could be dismissed as right-wing or a racist, and his murder should ring alarm bells in the ears of the European 'intelligentia.'

Posted by: Benelux [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 2, 2004 6:46 AM

Martin was undoubtedly killed because some Muslim maniac needed to feel like a man by killing one more "infidel" that dared to speak out against the Cult of Islam.

Such brave warriors that assassinate unarmed civilians in the streets, these Islamists. "Assassin" originated in the Middle East, is it any wonder? The roots of that region all go back to ancient "blood cults" and this old habit has yet to diminish even in a "civilized" world.

That murderer will find an unexpected judgement in the next world.

ie. Party before Country.

"Mega, once Bush is re-elected, can we expect you to back him? Or continue to be a pessimist, about the war on terrorism, about your country, about the truth?"

Yes. In the unlikely event that Bush manages to dodge the bullet, I will of course back him as president. We should always respect the office if not the man. But I'm not quite sure if some GOP fanatics are ready to put the country first in the likely case of Kerry winning.

"Do you know how long Carlos the Jackal ran free?"
Sounds like Bush with OBL. 3 years after "Dead or alive", and now Bush seems to forget ASSama's name. This, IMHO, is unforgivable:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/somnamblst/debate.gif

p.s. Reuters had a story recently that the name "Bush" is of French lineage, meaning "baker". So I guess Bush is continuing in the French tradition of being soft of terrorists. (John Kerry, by the way, is Czech ancestry)

"Give bin laden credit -- he is very politically savvy. This is more like the nexus of political art and science raised exponentially.

Bush loses -- bin laden wins
Kerry loses -- bin laden wins

His gamble is going to win a jackpot no matter how the dice are tossed!"

Good call. OBL set himself up to claim some kind of "victory" if it goes either way. (ie. scaring voters to Bush or taunting Bush towards a loss for failrue to catch him)

I think OBL's audience is, in fact, not America but the Muslim world. It's propaganda to win support there. He doesn't want to convert us, only kill us.

mega2004;

Here are some key excerpts I collected:

1) OBL tells Americans the Bush administration is screwing them:

"...the Bush administration has also gained, something of which anyone who looks at the size of the contracts acquired by the shady Bush administration-linked mega-corporations, like Haliburton and its kind, will be convinced. And it all shows that the real loser is...you."

2) OBL exagerates the regret some Americans feel for putting Bush in office:

"...they say, 'How mistaken we were to have allowed the White House to implement its aggressive foreign policies against the weak without supervision.'"

3) OBL tells Americans they are on the "wrong track" because of Bush:

"...And know that, "It is better to return to the truth than persist in error.'And that the wise man doesn't squander his security, wealth and children for the sake of the liar in the White House.'"

Clearly OBL is using leftist talking points to tell Americans to vote AGAINST Bush.

Rublev-
Absolutely correct. It was as if this was lifted right out of David Horowitz's "Unholy Alliance". No doubt he is attempting to score points with the radical left to rally them against the Great Satan. OBL is definitely using the old divide and conquer strategy here, and the Left, blinded by their own animus, is stupid enough to play right along with it.

Partisan? You bet your ass I'm partisan.

mega responded: ie. Party before Country.

True patriots put the NATION before crass partisan interests.

I suggest you better understand the definition of a word before you try to make assumptions. I am not "partisan" on condition of being loyal to Bush -- for one thing, I'm not even a registered Republican -- but what I am Partisan for is a CAUSE.

I am a warrior in this war, if not with arms then with words, and I know damn well by now what's at stake, who the enemies are, both foreign and domestic, and what will happen if we fail to stop the spread of hate and evil we are faced with now.

Self-sacrifice might not mean a lot to some people, but I strongly urge everyone to understand that the only reason we have freedoms to argue about is because of the thousands of Americans that died to provide us with the opportunity.

This war has barely begun. Islam is the enemy and anyone that coddles that religion or its followers is not far from that mark either.

In short, to vote for Kerry in this election is to side with the enemy, whether out of sheer stupidity, ignorance or some sadly cultivated adherance to a hippy-syndrome, it all amounts to the same thing.

Voting is good, but when people do it in an uninformed manner, it serves no good purpose. Many "smart" people are making bad votes today, and thats a damn shame.

As for OBL not being mentioned enough on this sight for the Murders on 9/11,it's because free thinkers are mocked and shouted down for asking how the Jews could have been behind the 9/11/01
attack and how Bush could have masterminded it while being in office only about 8 months.
I saw M.Moore's film and the reactions by the audiance spoke volumes about how easily people can be fooled once they get indoctrined with hate to skew their perception of reality.
During scenes of killing and suffering people
chuckled and then cheered the call for abandoning
females and children in the middleEast that won't ever see their kids get educated and grow old just like the people in the theatre.

Thank God for America leaving almost 500,000
dead soldiers on the battlefields of Europe so one day an obese bearded white guy would have the right to mock the Country they died for,and later make a movie that made his just as filthy rich as the people he abhors so much in the movie.
I know people like Moore couldn't give a shit if it's a non-American woman being abused and murdered, but for him to have a following of people that agree Arabs aren't worth dieing for and protecting is really scary.
Sure Iraqis aren't human enough to care about, but helping those that dislike you or never
did anything for you is what separates us from the animals.

This is evident from the Jihadists that kill for the thrill, they hate everyone and can't care about others because they are moraly bankrupt
and void of any human compassion. If Moore was around in 1941 he would have portrayed the Japanese as the victims and when the Nazis had the deathcamps running at full speed he would have argued that isn't wasn't our war and they were only killing jews and Gays and a few Gypses.

Kerry admitted he did nothing when he saw war crimes and atrocities against civilians while in Vietnam, the "War hero" stayed mute until he was back home and could use the suffering to further his cause. Lets hope you never have to depend on Kerry to help you during an assault or gang attack,he'd wait for the arrests and then ride in as the hero to tell the Judge he'll be a witness to the vicious crime since he was there.
