Hugh, I think you're right about making a film, it's the ideal medium for getting the message across to the Playstation Generation, who don't seem to have much of an affinity for the written word. I'm thinking more in terms of an F9/11-style documentary, but with some factual content included as well. To get the point across, you'd have to spice things up a bit with images of Theo van Gogh lying on the ground, Ken Bigley losing his head, and that video where the woman gets stoned to death for adultery (or whatever). I wouldn't bother turning up at Cannes to collect the award though, as I prefer my throat in its unsevered state.

A caller to my radio program suggested there might be a better way to dispose of Yasser Arafat than killing him.

She reminded me of something I had long known about the terrorist-killer-scum but have never put to use in print before.

I've attempted, over the years, to explain to Americans that Arafat is not only a killer of innocent Israeli citizens but more than 100 U.S. citizens as well – including diplomats assassinated in cold blood. !

If that isn't enough to discredit Arafat, it's hard to imagine what could.

But then the old light bulb went on.

Arafat has maintained support from his "people" by playing tough all these years. What if they found out he was actually an old softie?

What do I mean? I mean Arafat is a homosexual. There are also persistent rumors that he is a pedophile. I mean, in his private life, he is everything the Islamic culture detests – a closet pervert.

Now, I don't pretend to believe with certainty that this column will be widely translated into Arabic and distributed throughout the Palestinian Authority. I also don't pretend to think that I know something about Arafat unknown to the oil sheikhs who support him financially. I don't pretend to believe the governments in Europe who treat him like a head of state are unaware of his predilections.

After all, one former European intelligence chief recorded his own observations of Arafat's sexual! antics in a book, published 16 years ago.

I'm referring to "Red Horizons" by Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa, the former head of Romanian intelligence. He relates a conversation with Constantin Munteaunu, a general assigned to teach Arafat and the Palestinian Liberation Organization operations in deception and influence designed to fool the West into granting the organization recognition.

"I just called the microphone monitoring center to ask about the 'Fedayee,'" Arafat's code name, explained Munteaunu. "After the meeting with the Comrade, he went directly to the guest house and had dinner. At this very moment, the 'Fedayee' is in his bedroom making love to his bodyguard. The one I knew was his latest lover. He's playing tiger again. The officer monitoring his microphones connected me live with the bedroom, and the squawling almost broke my eardrums. Arafat was roaring like a tiger, and his lover yelping like a hyena."

Munteaunu continued: "I've never befor! e seen so much cleverness, blood and filth all together in one man."

Munteaunu, wrote Pacepa, spent months pulling together secret reports from Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian intelligence agencies as well as Romanian files.

"I used to think I knew just about everything there was to know about Rahman al-Qudwa," Arafat's real name, "about the construction engineer who made a fortune in Kuwait, about the passionate collector of racing cars, about Abu Amman," Arafat's nom de guerre, "and about my friend Yasser, with all his hysterics," explained Munteaunu, handing Pacepa his final report on the PLO leader. "But I've got to admit that I didn't really know anything about him."

Wrote Pacepa: "The report was indeed an incredible account of fanaticism, of devotion to his cause, of tangled oriental political maneuvers, of lies, of embezzled PLO funds deposited in Swiss banks, and of homosexual relationships, beginning with his teacher when he was a teen-ager and ! ending with his current bodyguards. After reading the report, I felt a compulsion to take a shower whenever I had been kissed by Arafat, or even just shaken his hand."

With doctors claiming they have still not diagnosed Yasser Arafat

weakened immune system. In addition to cancer, which doctors have ruled
out,
the low count could be attributed to bleeding ulcers, colitis, liver
disease, lupus, HIV, or a host of other diseases. Ulcers and colitis

been ruled out, as well, it is believed.

Some have been speculating Arafat might be suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Arafat

recently switzerland changed its laws regarding the accessing of numbered private accounts.
This may be one of the reasons for keeping Arafat alive.
proving ownership would be a nightmare!
If the accounts are in joint names the sums sometimes must be transfered before a death certificate is issued.

Yasser has always been vilified by the Western media but still he managed to keep a smile.

He will be remembered certainly by his people, the West and Israel had a golden chance of getting to ever-lasting peace but they have just thrown it away.

Many talk about the “state” hammered out by Clinton. The TRUTH however is that he was given a state that looked swiss cheese, with little enclaves of Jewish settlements littered in it. A pity that the US sought not to rein in their rottwieller Sharon, he was the one man who unified the Pals and that is gonna be difficult to replace…there may be no one to negotiate with.

Negotiation with the Israelis is a joke anyway, they won’t even allow him to be buried in peace, in a place of his choosing, they wouldn’t allow him to see his wife or child, why is that? They are powerful today because of the US, tomorrow the US may not be powerful, and history is littered with fallen empires.

As for the money in his account, it is for the Pal people. Being an old man he was always wise enough to know that “he cannot take it with him”.

The road with him will be rockier, the West and Israel may yet regret that could have been fairer, we should all lament to the (virtual) passing of this great statesman!

Noting the rather sparse turn-out of the common people when Arafat was whisked off to France for medical treatment, a column in this morning's Globe and Mail quotes a Palestinian in his early 30s commenting on how Arafat brought "naked Tunisians" into the country and made millionaires out of them while his own people live in relative squalor. I say relative, because there are more squalid places in the Middle East than the "occupied territories" but they don't enjoy the same claim to fame that Gaza and the West Bank do, and, consequently, aren't able to milk the foreign aid/charities cow as effectively.

Great statesmen bring PEACE AND PROSPERITY to their nations and people - Arafat failed at BOTH. Why? Because he and all the other murderous dumbasses like him have chosen to try and drive the Israelis into the Mediterranean since 1948 instead of co-existing with them peacefully - unfortunately for them, the Israelis refused to cooperate (good for them).
Arafat was a LOSER, and he helped make LOSERS out of the Palestinians. So until the PLA, Hamas and all those other stupid f*cks stop playing the Pavlovian Dog, they'll have to reap the rewards of getting their asses repeatedly kicked by people who are better, stronger and braver than them.

Remember, her "hero" Yasser was taped on PA TV many times exhorting Palestinians "who are too old and tired..." to give their children up for martyrdom as it was the best thing they could do... ...and his charming wife Suha, from the safety of her luxious home in Paris, proclaiming that if only she had a son, she'd want him to be a bomber too. (Hey, Suha... ...the girls are doing it too? Wanna reconsider)

Remember the old 1960s anti-Viet Nam war chant: war is good business; invest your son? That was meant as a slur against corporations getting war contracts, not a piece of advice. But then Yasser wasn't suggesting that his own flesh and blood put themselves in the line of fire, just the poor, sad, religion-indoctrinated fools who were too blind to see that until the PLO really got rolling and making things ugly, the Arabs living within Israel's boundaries enjoyed a far better standard of living than their fellows on the other side of the border.

In fact, that's why so many of them were inside Israel's borders in the first place -- because the Jewish settlers brought economic development along with them far beyond what existed in the surrounding sandpits. But that's something Naseem will never learn from her mullahs and politicos... ...or that Jews always lived in the area, and that even before the immigration from Eastern Europe, that Jerusalem, Safed and two other cities were predominently Jewish.

The tongue in cheek idea of making a Hollywood movie about the Arafat situation should be taken more seriously. I think it could also be used to great effect with islam in general. I know that Theo Van Gogh paid with his life for this, but the story could be told with such power. Imagine the scene of little Aisha being placed on Mohammeds lap while the camera keys in on a big string of drool coming off Mohammeds lower lip and landing on this six year old.
