A press release from ConfrontingIraq.net:
The release late last year of the powerful new documentary, "Confronting Iraq," could represent a significant opportunity to change the national debate over the war in Iraq.Produced by Roger Aronoff of Accuracy in Media, the film sets the record straight about Saddam Hussein, his weapons of mass destruction, ties to terrorists, and threats to America and the world. It portrays the war in Iraq as a noble cause essential to America's survival in the "clash of civilizations" between the West and fanatical Islam.
The popular website, AintitCool.com, wrote, “We’ve all seen Fahrenheit 911. That’s one side of the story. So, in the spirit of open-minded debate, and seeing both sides of the story, I would encourage everyone to see [Confronting Iraq] as a companion piece to Moore’s.”
Scott O’Malley of the blog, TheJuxtaposition.com wrote, “If the smart and passionate folks at PBS ever approached a subject with the sobriety of a conservative mind―the result would approach this finely crafted and superbly executed film.”
“Confronting Iraq” has the potential to counter the noxious and subversive influence of Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11, which uses the 9/11 terrorist attacks as an opportunity to attack President Bush and the U.S. response to global terrorism, including the liberation of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Bootleg copies of the Moore film have been circulated in Iraq and are said to be having a "devastating" impact on U.S. morale, with some soldiers saying they are ashamed of their military service on behalf of "a lie." Moore is now trying to get his film shown at U.S. military bases.
AIM is sending copies of the documentary to troops in the field in Iraq. The AIM film will be a real morale-booster for the Armed Forces because it describes how a successful outcome in Iraq is essential to U.S. national security interests. It features interviews with James Woolsey, former CIA director; Bernard Kerik, former New York City Police Commissioner; Christopher Hitchens, author of A Long Short War: The Postponed Liberation of Iraq; Bernard Lewis, an expert on Islam from Princeton University; Victor Davis Hanson, a military historian and senior fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution; Cliff May, president of The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies; Frank Gaffney, President of Center for Security Policy and a former Assistant Secretary of Defense; Stephen Hayes, reporter for The Weekly Standard and author of the book The Connection, on Saddam's ties to al Qaeda; Richard Miniter, author of Losing bin Laden; Tim Trevan former U.N. weapons inspector; and Jano Rosebiani, a Kurdish-American filmmaker who has documented Saddam's mass graves.
The film has been shown at the American Film Renaissance in Dallas, and the Liberty Film Festival in Los Angeles, where it received a standing ovation. The release of the film came in the wake of publication by The American Spectator of a provocative article challenging the media and policymakers to call the "war on terrorism" what it is—a war on militant Islam. Andrew C. McCarthy, a former chief assistant U.S. attorney who led the 1995 terrorism prosecution of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman in connection with the first World Trade Center bombing, says, "You can't win a war without identifying who the enemy is, and I think we've bent over backwards to avoid labeling all of Islam as the enemy. That is fair enough. But I think we've gone overboard in saying that our enemy is terrorism. Terrorism is a method, not a person or a faction or an enemy."
“Confronting Iraq” will be shown at more film festivals, and a distribution deal could be in the works. In the meantime, it can be purchased by visiting www.ConfrontingIraq.net.

Please give me a break.
The Black Watch have just returned from Iraq, a further 400 from another Scots regiment are about to depart for Iraq.
Sometimes your postings are nonsense (and I'm being polite).

I'd take 200,000 more soldiers in fully-armored vehicles landing in Iraq tomorrow morning over a can of film, however accurate or telling.
Morale-boosting is fine, but if not backed up with brute strength and intense cunning, it only makes the current Pussyfooting Doctrine 'feel' a little better, and look less like what it is: half-measures when the whole hog is needed.
We are fighting Islamic Terror with both hands and one foot tied behind our back- when we need to be as agile as Bruce Lee. And as erudite as Avicenna (Ibn Sinna).
Once the next HARD attack on the U.S. occurs, maybe then the gloves will come off.
9/11 was equivalent to the attack on the Lusitania in WW I -an outrage, but one not adequately responded to until all-out submarine warfare, on all American shipping in the Atlantic, was declared by Deutscheland.
We are waiting for something that will have the effect of Pearl Harbor in WW II. A complete and implacable resolve to win.
A pity it'll take 30,000 or 300,000 more neighbors slaughtered before this painful lesson is learned.
We're a thick-headed primate, and lazy to boot.
Only a bloody nose we can taste seems to wake us.
It will be delivered by Bin Laden's scum sooner or later.
Then, one can only hope, our reaction will be more serious. Inshallah.

This film, like Michael Moore's , has good and bad aspects to it. It is good to point out the savagery of our Islamic opponets and to identify fundamentalist as the real perpetrators of terrorism that we are at war with. The moral thing is good too among the troops. But it takes more than a movie to motivate or even de-motivate a troop to a cause. It is also good to reaffearm the intentions of democracy in Iraq and the toppeling of a brutal dictatroship.
The bad part is that it defeacts attention from the way Bush is botching the Iraq occupation. The preoccupation with Haliburton profits at the exspense of effecient rebuilding of Iraq, the lack of troops on the ground to provide security for the entire nation, the enability to secure the boarders from Syrian, Iranian and Suadi terrorist flooding in........those flaws is what is going to lose the intended political effect of the occupation, not some Michael Moore film.
To dismiss all critiques of the occupation or the war on terror even as some " big lie " provides cover for the insurgent islamic terrorist themseleves to carry out their undermining of our presence with NO motivation from the Whitehouse to correct the situation. As long as the public in the main believes we are prevailing in Iraq no questioning of the lack of troops will be made all the while the situation gets more violent and unteniable on the ground. As in " Sure we can have a fair democracy in Iraq all the while Mutadar Al Sadr can imprision, torture and execute who he wants at will.....thats not imcompatible with democracy.......Sure we have enough troops on the ground eventhough thousands of Iraqis are being killed by the insurgents, there is no insugency ( Rumsfeld actually state there was no insugency as recently as last summer ) Sure the Shiites will dominate Iraq after the election, they are not anti-American......they are our allies like the Saudi's. "
Such a fantasy land logic is a sure way to defeat. And that is exactly what is unfolding before our eyes.

So America left about 500,000 dead soldiers on the battlefields of Europe so one day an obese, bearded, slob in his 50's could become a millionaire by mocking the Country that gave him the Right to make a Movie that shows disdain
for those same millionaires he now joins every April 15th when filing his income Tax forms.
Michael Moore should kiss the grave stones of all the fallen soldiers that weren't told about a future where a man like him could spit on their grave AND get filthy rich like the people he claims to abhor.
FRNHT/911 was a comedy of errors and aside from making Arabs and Muslims look like savages and blood-thirsty children of Allah, his "Cut n paste"
method for his "Mock-u-mentary" was pioneered by Bob Crane on his L.A. radio show.
The real tragedy is the blind acceptance of Moore's perception of reality by his avid followers that show up on Blog's defending Moore with the moronic retorts like "You're stupid","You're so dumb","Get a life","Moore rules",and so on.
When the facts are excluded from any argument
with a Moore-ite then you see how easily he suckered in those sheeple that handed him their cash as if ignorance was a virtue.
Have you seen Moore lately, his make-over has him looking like the person he never wanted to be,oh I foregot, that American dollar dosen't discriminate when sellecting who gets obsessed
with its power. Next Moore will buy an Oil Company and a mansion with a fence around it to keep out the people like him that envy success.

Why don't they make these films available in a format for overseas customers?
There are lots of Americans who live overseas that would love to get these films.
I live in the UK and my blog is dedicated to exposing the anti-American bias in the UK media.
I'd love to be able to show these films to my British friends.

I agree with ala-sux that Alan Patterson's film Farenhype 9/11 is an excellent rebuttal of Michael Moore. A brief description can be found here as the links provided above don't work.
