Australia: Iraqi polling station closed after riot

More jihadist disruption of Iraqi voting. From AP, with thanks to Xliberty:

An Australian polling station for Iraqi exiles voting in their homeland's historic election was closed for an hour on Saturday after a riot broke out and a suspicious bag prompted a bomb scare.

Bernie Hogan, the head of Australia's overseas voting program, said the riot erupted when a group of some 20 protesters started yelling insults at voters leaving the polling center, which is in a Sydney neighborhood dominated by Iraqi Shi'ites.

Hogan said the protesters - who had been granted a permit to stage their action - were holding up the same black flag with white lettering that has appeared as a backdrop in videos released by Iraqi insurgents featuring foreign hostages begging for their lives.

That would be the battle flag of jihad, the black flag of Islam.

I'm damned sure it was those non-wahabbi iraqis who'd sparked this ugly riot aimed at the peace-loving wahabis....
/sarc off.

Who were the cretins who allowed this protest in the first place? As for horrible black flag, featured on so many Terrorist Websites and Beheading videos SHOULD BE BANNED IN ANY DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY. Would Australia have allowed
Nazi flag and storm troopers go on a march through
Sydney??

This morning, my (normally reliable) sources tell me that the wild, anti-democratic disruptions at the polling-place in Fairfield were instigated predominantly by a pack of young, ultra-left, militants, belonging to the "Resistance" faction here in Sydney.

They, together with a band of youths from "Imam of Australia" Taj el-Din el-Hilaly's "Lebanese Muslim Association" - fronted in person by his shifty mouthpiece, Keysar Trad - earlier in the evening had put on a "Welcome Home Mamdouh" demonstration in a Bankstown park, to celebrate the return, on Friday afternoon, of unindicted el-Qaeda terror-suspect, Mamdouh Habib, from American custody at Guantanamo Bay.

The democracies of the world need help. Vigilantism is the answer.

Yeah, HG11, I heard something similar. Ordinary Australians really need to be educated on this subject - most of the people I know feel uneasy about continued Muslim immigration, but they dont know the real facts about radical Islamic groups such as the LMA.

OT - In the part of Sydney where I live, Muslim shops are refusing to stock pork products such as bacon, and many people are beginning to notice seemingly small things like this - a friend who is usually the soul of tolerance was very angry when this happened to her at her local corner shop. She told everyone she knows, and the shop has been unofficially boycotted by the locals.

The more Muslims out themselves as the bigots they truly are, the better it is for Australia in the long run. One can only hope that ASIO got a full recording of the days activities.

HG11 - yes it's shocking, but what is also shocking is the lack of press coverage in Sydney. Sometimes I catch Australian stories of JW or DW which I think I would have totally missed otherwise, despite buying newspapers three or four times a week, and listening to news radio almost every day, and snatches of Australian Sky News - and yet I have to come to an American website to find out what is going on in my own city! After I get these stories I relate them to people at my workplace - who are similarly surprised.

"Australian" Muslims are by far the most unpatriotic and troublemaking community. Their utter contempt for Australia is breathtaking.

I often think of all the millions of hard working Christian peoples in Eastern Europe who would love to settle here, along with hundreds of thousands of ordinary young Britons, and even Americans perhaps. But of course, in the eyes of the government they are not rich enough, or they're not doctors, lawyers etc., so they have no chance of calling Australia their home. These enthusiastic Westerners would work hard and assimilate very quickly, making Australia a more powerful and socially cohesive nation. But no, instead, we take in uneducated and unskilled Muslims who hate us. They want very little to do with the rest of Australia, they form ghettos and then ASIO has to waste millions of dollars keeping an eye on them and furthermore the government has to waste further millions in dole money (for their numerous unemployed) and child benefits (for their numerous offspring).
Our reward: a "Welcome Home Mamdouh" demonstration in a Bankstown park, for an anti-Western terror suspect, who would probably love to burn our churches and slit our throats whilst we sleep. I know that the Americans are cumbersome, and their intelligence is often poor, but I simply refuse to believe that they arrested and imprisoned this guy just for the hell of it.

The world has gone mad.

CORRECTION:

The disturbance on Saturday evening took place not in Fairfield (as I'd posted), but in Auburn.

As for Mamdouh himself, it looks like the Americans did NOT have the necessary, water-tight evidence to tie him either to the 1993 assault on the WTC by the gang of the blind Sheikh Rahman, nor to the 2001 attacks by el-Qaeda, nor to the assassination of Meir Kahane in NYC, a bit earlier.

They (and ASIO) DID have records of him making phone-calls to the killers and bombers (and from them to him as well), but, alas, not of the specific CONTENTS of these conversations.

Yes, they sure don't give a lot of airtime to these riots, threats and attacks in the media, do they? Might make their precious, protected ethnic groups look bad and make Australians question or doubt uncontrolled multiculturalism. I heard a report of it just this afternoon on the radio - first time they talked about it. They interviewed some Iraqi man who said the bullies were not Iraqi but from other parts of the world (probably Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, etc.) He said they were extremists. Too bad the cops didn't find out exactly who they were, and too bad we don't have laws that would have had these creeps tossed out of the country on the next plane. We shouldn't have to put up with this crap here.
