The Obsidian Order (thanks to LGF) has a very intriguing analysis of a series of photos of a bomb exploding a car in Iraq. It strongly suggests that AFP, AP, and Reuters had photographers ready to capture the event, which contains a number of questionable elements. How did the three photographers know the car was going to explode at that particular place and time? What kind of connections do they have to the mujahedin?

That is a very interesting array of photos, it does puzzle the mind about the timing of these.
Did not see if casualties arose from these?
Iraqi elections have been going on for over 8 hours and the people are coming out to vote, men and woman.
As we are witness to an event of such historical magnitude the world has ever seen brings shivers to my body and a huge sense of pride.
"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a brave and scarce man, hated and scorned. When the cause succeeds however, the timid join him....for then it costs nothing to be a patriot".

I would not say that the current electorate is timid. By all accounts, it represents the majority of the Iraqi people, and each of them knows that by going to vote he or she is running a risk, maybe even taking his/her life in his/her hand. The Jihadis have been as good as their word, and there are at least twenty dead; yet the people have come out, in such numbers that twenty dead are less than nothing. Like the parallel event in Afghanistan, this is a major defeat for the jihadis. A hundred and forty-five years ago, General Garibaldi entered the city of Naples, ahead of his troops and virtually unarmed, and was mobbed by a joyful crowd. Some of the more nervous among his followers pointed to the great royal fortress that still overlooked the city, full of soldiers and cannon. Garibaldi answered, pointing to the streets thronged with citizens: "When once the people move like this, my dear man, cannons don't matter!" And he was right.
I do not want to come across as a mindless optimist. I know that the Iraqis are going to be ruled by an inexperienced and fragmented ruling class, shot through with Islamic ideology; but this is at least one step ahead, instead of back, in the struggle against jihadi fascism.

Did anyone else notice? All the cars seem to be pretty much identical. And all photgraphed from the same angle...
If there had been a FOX news guy in the area, the car would have already been a burned-out hulk- because the terrorists wouldn't be keeping FOX up to date, now, would they, kj?

The big question I have is about the media's role in stopping murders and atrocities.
One example of my point is the soldier that was filmed allegedly shooting a wounded insurgent
that may have been wired to blow himself up when enough Americans were near him, maybe I was in a coma when the U.N. approved journalists to film war-crimes and murders while allowing them to occur by not stopping them.
When I see the video's of jihadists or insurgents with weapons shooting civilians or
driving around with masks on,I really wonder how the person behind the camera got a special dispensation that protects them from being held responsible for not condemning atrocities or
even trying to fulfill the "Good-Samaritan"
obligation that is expected from anybody in a neutral position observing an act of beligerency
against a un-armed civilain or POW.
At least the camera men in COPS follow people that are attempting to protect or apprehend person of interest.
Imagine the outrage by the public if journalists
were filming stabbing and murders while they waited for the Police to arrive,it's easy to claim you're against violence, the real test is when you see it happening and make a freewill choice to remain objective and cling to your
assertion of condemning this type of crime.
BTW,I noticed John Kerry made the choice to overlook the war-crimes and atrocities to Vietnamese civilians until his DROS back to American where he exploited the deaths by
taking on the anti-war veneer when it could further his personal goals.
I'd hate to be the person bleeding to death on a riverband in Vietnam while a SwiftBoat(PBR)
passes by with Kerry shaking his head in discust
as he polishes his Medals for service above and beyond the call of DUTY.
Wow,to think that he almost got elected by just over 50 percent of the voters that agree with him and have the same mindset.

For the record,Canada was fighting both world wars for over two years befor the USA got involved,we didn't have the Policy of returning our dead becuase there was no national cemetary
for the war dead.
About 10 percent of the Canadian population helped in the war effort(including both my parents
that volunteered) and that number was based on the 1940's number of 11 Million people.
Canada lost the highest percentage of soldiers for it's total population and size of the military forces.
The citizenship act didn't start until 1947 after Paul Martin senior ( our P.M.'s father)
saw the graves in Europe that had a Maple Leaf
on the headstones and wanted Canadians to be credited for the effort and not the British Subject status that appeared on documents.
Paul Martin Sr. brought in the Act and was issued the citizenship ID of #1 to pay tribute for his desire to give us our own NorthAmerican
identity as Canadian subjects.
Ben Aflect may have won the war in Pearl Harbour but pilots from several European Countries and Canada died in the Battle of Britain agaist the Nazi Luffwaffer that out numbered British planes by a 10-1 margin.
I'll assure you that as crazy as we Canadians
appear, those Islamists will be very sorry if they think people like me will just go down without a fight. The first dirty bomb attack on us and I'll be the first one to fly a 747 fully fueled up right into the center of the rock-worshipping event called Hajj, they want to destroy the world for Allah as if he'll build a new one for Muslims-only. There won't be much for me to come back to so what the hell,I'll trust in God for separating out the Jihadists from the defenders of freedom.
