"Terror Meeting a Showcase for Saudi Efforts," from AP, with thanks to EPG:
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Delegates from the around the world will spend four days discussing ways to combat terrorism at a conference hosted by a country some in the West blame for exporting terrorism, even as Saudi Arabia sees itself as the victim of such violence. The Counter Terrorism International Conference, which opened Saturday, caps an aggressive anti-terror campaign by Saudi authorities to uproot al-Qaida's structure in the kingdom. Al-Qaida is responsible for the deaths of scores of civilians in bombings and shootings here.
Crown Prince Abdullah, the kingdom's de facto ruler, opened the conference, which is being attended by delegates from the United States, Britain and more than 50 countries and international organizations....
"When they speak about internal security nobody believes them," said Kevin Rosser, an analyst with the London-based Control Risks Group. "Even when they have made genuine progress it's taken a long time for the outside world's recognition to catch up."
What a pity. Maybe this slowness has something to do with the Saudis' sponsorship of jihad ideology, even in mosques in the most prominent nation attending their conference?
Also, click here for more indication of how searching and effective this conference is going to be.

This must be an example of 'black humour.' Please note I am not making a racist remark merely referring to the black heart [rock]
of Islam. However, the idea of the Wahhabe Kingdom
holding a Conference on Terror should be a grim laugh a minute. If Saudi Arabia had announced a Conference on Christianity or a 'Love Infidels Week', this would hardly have seemed less incongruous...

The irony.
Islam was the first religion to combat terrorism and corruption on earth. It prohibited killing and terrorizing people in their homes and countries. The Holy Qur’an says: “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: Execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land.” (Qur’an — 5:36
(Yeah right. Sharia IS terrorism !!)

My same comment was posted on Dhimmi Watch for February 5th SAUDIA OFFICIAL: BIN lADEN SENT BY JEWS.
"But Israel is not invited, despite its extensive experience combating terrorism at home"
I would like hear a little noise out there on Israel; the country that has had terrorism perpetrated on it more than any other country on the face of the planet.
Will they talk about Beslan,or is the Phillipines invited to discuss the the terrorism in western Mindanao perpetrated by the abu Sayyaf Group? Or how about Abu Nidal that has carried out terrorist attacks in over 20 countries killing over 900 persons? How about the Armed Islamic group of Algeria who have conducted numerous massacres of civilians usually using their favorite procedure of slitting throats while sometimes whiping out entire villages. There is Al-gama`a al-islamiyya who has terrorized and murdered civilians and coptic Christains in Egypt. Will they talk about the murderous and hateful tenants of Hamas and its charter? Or how about Hizballah probably the best financed Islamic terrorist organization that has cells in Europe,Africa, South America,North America and Asia and is responsible for the murder of over 240 marines in the barracks in Beruit. Then there is Lashker-e-Tayyiba in Pakistan whose tentacles reach all over the world. And what are they going to do about that little group called Al-Quaida? What about the genocide in Darfur and the Sudan?
The list is overwhelming and as we know pages, and pages long, and it rages out at you with that wonderful phrase ---"ISLAM.THE RELIGION OF PEACE".---- PLEEEASE!

Saudi Arabia, the country most responsible for educating and financing Islamic terrorism world wide is sponsoring a conference to combat terrorism!!!
This is tantamount to using gasoline to put out a fire.
Why are they doing it?
Unquestionably, to prove to the world that they are making a serious effort to eliminate the very institutions to which they have given birth and which they continue to nurture and reward.
Even the so called terrorist incidents in Saudi Arabia are probably no more than smokescreens to make it appear that the Saudis are also victims of terrorism. How many members of the 6-7000 strong royal family have been killed or injured in these attacks? So what if they sacrifice a few dozen or a few thousand Jihadis to cover up their nefarious activities. They have trained and are training tens of thousands more.
Isn't this classical Taqqiya? Or is it Kittman? Or both?

Oh, cut the the Saudis some slack, would ya? The Saudis are very sincere about wanting to stop radical Islamic terrorism--against themselves. Jihadist activity against someone else is just fine and dandy.

Gotta send them 'delegates'.

Right you are JTF!
another comparable act would be Hitler Germany sponsoring an anti-National-Socialism (Nazism)conference.
Why are the EU and US going along with this farce? It's the oil, isn't it? Is it so difficult to come up with a solution to the problem besetting the Western world? If it weren't for the Saudis controlling the oil, the problem would be solved. Now how can we tackle that problem?
It doesn't take the world's greatest brains to answer that one. But then, we have to consider who is buddies with whom. As long as the Western world plays the harlot for Saudi money, the problem remains. Wahhabi mosques, madrassas, Saudi-bought media, and Saudi-financed jihad on one side, and a Saudi-led anti-terrorism (jihad) effort on the other.
The leaders of the "free" world should realize that you can't fool all of the people all of the time. What does that matter, however, until we the people DO something besides seeing through the farce and bitching about it?

Saudi official: Bin Laden sent by Jews
Defense minister spoke ahead of global confab in Riyadh

WorldNetDaily.com
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42729
Speaking at a meeting of Saudi leaders in preparation for the kingdom's international conference on counterterrorism, Defense Minister Prince Sultan referred to Osama bin Laden as being "sent by the Jews."
The prince was quoting a poet who said, "Long live security - may its men hold their heads high on every corner. [Bin Laden], whose ideology is sick, who was sent by the Jews, who is the architect of theft, was treacherous and sent us the criminals. This traitor of the nation tried to harm us, but his efforts boomeranged back upon him."
The prince's remarks can by viewed, with translation, at the Middle East Media Institute's special website of television clips [Clip No. 518].
The first-of-its-kind conference, beginning today through Tuesday, will be attended by leading counterterrorism experts from more than 50 countries, including the U.S.
But Israel is not invited, despite its extensive experience combating terrorism at home.
"We have invited all countries that have suffered from terrorism to the conference, and all have agreed to take part," said Prince Turki ibn Muhammad, assistant undersecretary for political affairs at the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
Organizers said participants will share information on how to fight terror and discuss its cause and links to organized crime.
Joint operations also will be discussed.
Prince Turki said efforts must be made to address root causes.
We have to address the reasons that lead to the spread of this dangerous phenomenon," he said.

At the “Anti-Terror” Confab in Riyad, Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah proposed the establishment of an international counter-terrorism centre, an institutional hub to foster the tight co-operation and co-ordination of the world’s anti-terrorist bodies (except - so predictably - for Israel’s) and to serve in optimizing intelligence analysis and facilitating communications for them.
To do so would be a DISASTER - imagine the leakages, the disinformation, etc! Worse than a case of the inmates running the asylum: truly, this’d be a rabid fox guarding the henhouse!
Abdullah’s notion ought to be SLAPPED DOWN reflexively, despite the money he’d be guaranteed to shovel in - in order to buy the show. Once gaining enormous influence in it, the House of Saud can then push its line there that there’s no connection whatever between global terrorism and “the Religion of Peace”. This means that the House of Saud need not address its centuries-long nexus with the Jihadism of Wahabi Islam, nor make any non-cosmetic changes in its society or polity.
That old bugbear, the definition of Terrorism itself, was again not agreed upon at this gabfest. Syria and Iran, with the sympathy of a number of other Arab and Moslem countries, demanded that any atrocity conducted by “Palestinians”, and those acting on their behalf, be exempted.
The Saudis, disclosing their own 250 or so casualties of terror, insisted that no perpetrators of it could possibly be Moslems, calling them “heretics” - a serious, capital charge indeed. However, the multi-murderous militancy of Jihad’s inseparably rooted in the Koran and Islamic history and practice; if the Meeting neglects this fact, it’s headed NOWHERE.
What an utter travesty of an Anti-Terrorism Conference! Thoroughly counter-productive, but, nevertheless, it must’ve been a splendid junket for the assembled throng of eminent Delegates, plus a magnificent opportunity for the Sauds to PURCHASE at least a sprinkling of them, to bend them to boosting the pursuit of the Saudi objective - and ultimately, to frustrate and paralyze a VITAL arm of the US, its allies and associates in the misnamed “War on Terror”....

I found this on the BBC web-site.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4242611.stm
"However, what Saudis are being told today about tolerance and respect for non-Muslims is often the opposite of what they have been taught their whole lives.
So it is difficult to tell what impact this campaign is having on the majority of Saudis, let alone hard-core extremists. "
So some one from the BBC knows the nature of the beast. This is surprising coming from we used to call the Bahgdad Broadcasting Coroporation when a certain bloodthirsty dictator was still in power.
Its a start...
