First of all, I wonder how you came up with "large nationwide organization". They are a small Shi'ite group. Secondly, I wonder at how the article comes up with people claiming that this invitation on someone to speak about Muslim-Christian relations indicates that both parties "are probing the defenses of American Jewish communities."

This "journalist" makes absolutely no effort to give us the Islamic view on racism. Hence I cannot congratulate the journalist for his fine sense of objectivity and his unbiased approach to the story.

People should know that racism is absolutely prohibited in Islam. The largest percentage of American Muslims are African American though the percentage of Latino Muslims is growing significantly through conversion.

Please explain why all Europeans had been pidgeon holed in to a assumed group of "Whites",are there no non-white European Muslims that move to the USA?
Plus,how many more centuries must pass until Muslims see "Blacks" as Americans. It was Muhammed that said "No white man should rule over Black slaves",he convinced his followers that Muslims would be better owners of slaves and that's when his Crusade started to liberate those African slaves to the utopic life under Islamic rule.

Also, looking at all of your quotes from ibn Ishaq, Al Tabari and the Hadith, in no way does any one of them imply racism.

One example:

"‘Whoever wants to see Satan should look at Nabtal!’...Allah sent down concerning him: ‘To those who annoy the Prophet there is a painful doom.”"

Abd Allah b. Nabtal was one of the known hypocrites of Madina. This has nothing to do with him being dark in complexion.

Also, many of those sources have questionable translations.

For instance, you cite:

"Bukhari:V4B52N137 “The Prophet said, ‘Let the negro slave of Dinar perish."

How comes the word "negro" into the hadith? "Abd-ud-dinar wal khamisa" in the Arabic means Slave of Dinar and Clothing i.e Slave of money and clothing. Where the word "negro" came from, I don't know. There are some other such discrepancies in the quotes that you have provided. Please ensure that your provided quotes, from wherever you might have gotten them, are accurate.

No, Professor, not all Israeli universities and not all Israeli academics will be boycotted if the AUT motion is passed. Such a proposition was defeated 3–1 at the association’s conference two years ago, and the boycotters are too smart to repeat past mistakes. The new motion, says one of its authors, has been ‘tactically’ amended to get it passed. ‘We’ve got to be a bit more sophisticated,’ she says. And sophisticated they are. They even had a dry run last December, when they met to rehearse their presentations and develop killer responses to potential critics.

Their sleek new motion — which does not involve a single book-burning — envisages sanctions against only the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University and Haifa University. And there’s more: the boycotters generously offer Israeli academics the opportunity to buy themselves immunity if they are prepared to denounce their country, specifically, ‘conscientious Israeli academics and intellectuals opposed to their state’s colonial and racist policies’. Who could seriously question the integrity of your fellow academic freedom fighters?

But there are, of course, small obstinate obstacles in the way of you visionaries, Professor. Britain’s academic institutions, for example, have not endorsed boycotting Israel’s academic community. Indeed, when the Oxford don Andrew Wilkie told an Israeli PhD applicant that there was ‘no way would I take on somebody who had served in the Israeli army’, he was hauled before the university’s disciplinary body and suspended without pay for two months.

Cambridge University’s Professor Sir Aaron Klug, Nobel laureate and former president of the Royal Society, put me right when I asked him about the possible impact — on Britain no less than on Israel — of such a boycott: ‘How important is the AUT? That’s the question you have to ask.’ He is no supporter of Israel’s Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, and his policies but he does consider that the proposed boycott is ‘ill considered and doesn’t promote anything at all’. The AUT, he says, is out to attack Israel ‘but this is no way to proceed’. Sir Aaron is ‘not one who looks for anti-Semitism around every corner,’ he says, ‘but I do think there’s an element of that here. It does give people who are anti-Semitic the opportunity to express themselves.’

But relax, Professor. The AUT has solemnly concluded that there is a clear distinction between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. They don’t mind Jews. They just detest the Jewish state.

5 Muslims I work with, having fled from sectarian violence in Yemen (2 men and 3 women from one family), have recently converted to Russian Orthodox Christianity. So, it looks like we are:

4 Hispanic Christian converts to (Sunni?) Islam.

5 Yemeni Muslim converts to Christianity (Orth.)

(And it has nothing to do with the mosque-like onion dome church, I guarantee you.)

So, keep proselytizing, but once the Hispanic guys you've seen "revert" find out that their women will have to sit in a different part of the religious service, I doubt they'll be too happy.

And I know the women won't put up with it for long.

On the contrary Bigsleep, the Catholic and Hispanic culture is as macho, misogynistic and patriarchial as they come (don't forget they have a legacy of some 700 years under Muslim rule and have internalized the Islamic mentality, while shedding the Islamic religion).

The carrot for conversion to Islam is the fact that it, even more than Catholicism, is rigidly patriarchial and women are doctrinally required to submit. A woman in the west can file for divorce and get protection from abuse, but not in Islam.

As regards women and Islam, women are actually more conservative and religious than men, Saudi and Iranian Women are more entrenched in the status quo and opposed to women's liberation, voting and office holding than the men.

In the Arab world it is the women who teach their sons to grow up to be Shaheeds.

Regrets to say, this is simply not true. Firstly, islam is simply not the final message of anything save a man prone to epileptic attacks. By contrast, both Christianity and Judaism are for everyone. Unless you have some evidence that Gentiles were never supposed to be either? I would also opine that islam isn't really for women either, since they are valued so low in it.

I'm surprised you can't understand the quotes posted by Shiva - what is particularly difficult about not understanding that if the hadiths say that blacks were made to be slaves of Arabs, that the hadiths are inherently racist? I mean, it's right there in plain English in front of you. Again, please re-read these hadiths. Why do you not respond to any of them?

It's interesting that your co-workers seem to be converting. Mine are too. I've met four muslims in my department; today, one is Catholic, one an agnostic and another is leaving islam for Judaism. The fourth was a bit of an anti-Semite and is leaving the department.

I suppose the ultimate point is that people here are sick of your da'wa and the hateful policies of CAIR and the like. It is time that islam took some responsibility for its actions, rather than childishly attempting to evade it.

What a load of croc. There is a principle that runs all the way through the Bible, both OT and New Testament, that is, God, Yeshua, comes first to the Jews THEN the Gentiles. In Matt 10: 5-6 that is exactly what happens. God, Yeshua comes first to the Jews, then the Gentiles. This Shukri is also reflected in the way the Temple was built. The Jews are in the inner court, while the Gentiles are in the outer court.

As for 15:24 - "I was only sent for the lost sheep of Israel", Well Shukri, I don't know a lot about Hebrew culture, but I do know that the Jews have a very argumentitive way of bringing out the truth (by answering a question with a question, or statement to get the ball rolling). This is exactly what happens here. If Christ only came for the Jews, as you point out, why then did Christ go on to heal her daughter. Jesus' statement of "I was only sent for" was used to demonstrate a point that through faith in HIM (not Allah the moon god) would save her. This is exactly what happens a few sentences later.

Shukri, you really are clutching at straws on by quoting the Bible to justify the actions of your fellow Muslims.

It seems to be an old tatic by you - critique another beflief system do deflect the actions of followers in your own belief system. Why do this? Why not debate Shiva's comments in full above? Why don't you honor your bet from a few days ago? As for Shiva's quotes not being accurate, all anyone has to do is Google the Koran, there are plenty of on line ones. I have read the Hadiths, my friend. And I can see myself that there are discrepancies between the translations quoted by Shiva and the actual hadith. The quoted translations are even different from the actual Hadith translations in that words like "negro" and "blacks" have been added to the text.

Da'wa means "invitation" and in the Islamic context, it means to invite people to become Muslim. However, da'wah is not my intent. Again Shukri - read the whole chapter and stop taking it out of context. You obviously have no idea of the principles of - God comes first to the Jews, then to the Gentiles. That's why Christ ministered first to the Jews THEN the Gentiles.

Iraqis With Fake Passports Detained In Mexico

SAN DIEGO -- Two Iraqis have been charged with immigration offenses in Mexico after being arrested last week in Tijuana, according to Mexican officials.
The Iraqis, Steven Yohanan Kurkis and Kaml Meti Bashar, presented passports from Greece with the names Nikolaos Skarvelis and Nabil Megalli, according to a news release from the Mexican Attorney General's office obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Such was the scene at the latest anti-war rally that occurred April 10 in San Francisco, where Hatem Bazian, a senior lecturer in Islamic studies at Berkeley called for an “intifada” in America.

To All : per my conversation with a Hamas member [this is indicative of the entire muslim mindset -this IS their "BOTTOM LINE " -no exceptions ]
Hamas - Islam is a religion of peace .

me - how so , when you approve and commit suicide bombing ?

Hamas - it is not suicide , it is JUSTICE .

me - how do you come to such a conclusion ?

Hamas - there are two struggles that are required in the lifew of every good muslim , one is the personal "jihad " [struggle ] , which one strives to observe the five pillars of islam [these relate to personal spiritul behavior -prayers alms giving etc .
second - the struggle for the goal of the Prophet [Mohammed ].

me - what is the gaol of the Prophet ?

Hamas - it is Umma - world religious domination by Islam

me - ok where does the notion that suicide bombing is "Justice " fit in ?

Hamas - any obstacle that stands in the way of the goal of the prophet is considered unjust , therefore any means used to remove that obstacle is just , or "justice " , Israel satnds in the way as an obstacle , therefore to remove it by any means necessary is JUSTICE .

me - even bombing children on schoolbuses ??

Hamas - yes , they are guilty by their parents or they will grow to adulthood and thus become enemies of islam by obstructing the goal of the prophet .

me - so anything goes ?

Hamas - yes , anything . the blood of the kafir is not as valuable as the blood of a muslim .

Folks this is what the world is up against , note the rationalization that takes place to justify the acts of barbarism and savagry .

There is no reasoning with these people . They are deceptive and will never be as candid as this HAMAS MEMBER WAS . But when push comes to shove , it behooves every good muslim to enter these "two jihads " .
This islamic juggernaut has been launched and is indeed underway - worldwide . Europe is beginning to feel it as we speak - England ,Canada Belgium ,Netherlands , Germany ,France ,Denmark and Norway - all are in the beginning throws of an eventual downfall , for as one muslim put it - we shall overcome all of Europe not with arms but with the bellies of our woman .
Their goal is to eliminate western civilization and put the world under Sharia Law .
You may have a neighbor who is muslim and drives an SUV , has a wide-screen tv - good high-paying job , smiles at you everyday , but if he is a good muslim -in his heart of hearts this is his ultimate agenda .
I dont know what the Brits are going to do as events slowly inch toward disarray and confusion as their "muslim guests " and indigints rail against western ways , and the westerners themselves, and in whose country they are becoming dangerous and unwelcome guests . They claim "voting is un-islamic " and threaten all who vote . In Norway they call their hosts - "white devils" , in France "little weak whitemen " and roving gangs are actually attacking native French nationals . Gangs are forming in the U K .
This is racist religious fascism at its worst with a strange god as it's ethos .
I thank God I was born in the U S, where citizens bear arms in great numbers and I dont think things will ever go as far as they are in Europe . Pity Europe unless they are quickly awakened and act .
No doubt they will eventually mount another successful attack[s] in the U S , but they will never prevail .
To get an accurate pulse of "islamic mentality " and "aspirations " one need only listen to what they are saying in Arabic - and not the patented drivel they spew forth for the sake of "western ears " . This war indeed has already begun .

Oh , I'm sure the Europeans will be given a choice , time as it were ,to live as dhimmis and then to make their decision - islam or the sword .
