William Baker update. From the Palm Beach Post, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
To the disappointment of Jewish leaders, a speech by the former chairman of a neo-Nazi group will go on as planned.A day after a lawyer representing an Islamic group said William Baker probably would not appear at a gala Saturday night, Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini said Wednesday he didn't plan to cancel Baker's speech.
"The decision made on our behalf to bring Mr. Baker was not against the Jewish community," said Al-Qazwini, the imam of the Boca Raton-based Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation. "He will be strictly speaking about the prophet Mohammed. He will be strictly speaking about the Islamic faith."
Al-Qazwini said he is continuing to investigate Baker's background and might decide to cancel the speech at the celebration of the birthday of Islamic prophet Mohammed at the event at the Boca Raton Marriott Hotel.
"It's still not certain if he's coming or not," he said. "We're still in the process of due diligence."
However, those familiar with Baker said they can't imagine why a background check would take so long.
"A two-minute Internet search would have revealed who they were dealing with," said Rafael Medoff, director of the David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies in Melrose Park, Pa. "Mr. Baker has a long track record of extremism, anti-Semitism and associating with Holocaust deniers."

"Mr. Baker has a long track record of extremism, anti-Semitism and associating with Holocaust deniers."
This is a match made in heaven. So what's the problem?

I'm sure Mr. Baker is as well qualified to speak about the Islamic faith as he is of the Holocaust, but then making spurious denunciations of Jews and Judaism is a tenet of Islam, isn't it?

"Al-Qazwini said he is continuing to investigate Baker's background ..." in order to learn if Baker is enough of an antisemite to address Muslims. " We only want the most rabid Jew-haters", said Al-Qazwini.
"Those who only advocate mild discrimination are not welcome to use our Mosque. We Muslims only want those who wish to murder every Jew- man, woman, and child on Earth."

In a way, I am glad this kind of thing is happening, because it makes clear and irrefutable the link between extreme-shading-into-mainstream Islam, and the tenets and sympathies of the extreme right wing Nazi theology. It will wake people up, make things clear.

A year or so ago, Daniel Pipes' blog reported that William Baker had earlier gotten fired from a megachurch in California for disbelief in the deity of Jesus Christ. If this is so, we have an interesting mix of extremist politics with theologically moderate Christianity. The mixture of Arianism with anti-Semitism is probably the reason why the Muslims like the guy.

A 23 year old Imam? Acting like a "big shot", promoting Jihad and general murderous tactics. A title and some fancy cloths do not necessarily make for a decent human being. Quazwini needs to be deported or arrested for being a pompus little azzhole and sent to Devils Island...As for the Nazi, Hitler loves him from the grave. Muslims and Nazi's compliment each other because Hitler and Mohammad were both possessed by the same demon. Thats why there are lots of similarities between them. This same demon now possesses, Quazini, Bin Lousy, Zarqawi ect, and millions of infected muslims. They name it Allah, Hitler named it Fate, with a capital F. Allah's predestination and Hitlers Fate are the same thing...believing in predestination, the despot considers himself to be a predestined power of some kind, then he works to manifest that in reality, and ride the current to the top...
Both Hitler and Mohammad did that. The problem is that this is black magic aided by the fore-mentioned demon. Thats why it's brutal rather than saintly...there is no good reason why the Citizens of the US or any country for that matter, should have to put up with that crap, right in the middle of where they live. Dis-mantle Islam, arrest clerics, bulldoze mosques, imprison Michael Moore...slap that demon right upside the head and send the sucker packing...

"Mr. Baker is a person who deeply understands" Christianity and Islam, he said. "He's trying to bring both faiths together and I think that's a beautiful thing."
That is like trying to turn night into day, total opposites.

LOL - now, now. =) I know you guys aren't friends (gasp!) but let's remember who the real antagonists are.
Hey, BTW congrats on the recent developments with you mate; your wife was working on riparian stream beds you were saying? Neat stuff - an environmental ace-in-the-hole. Glad to hear things are sorting themselves out.
P3ACE,
Geoff

Sorry, Shy Guy. I see it as a match made in the deepest pits of Hell. Shall we agree it's more a case of "birds of a feather"?

The most important link between Nazism and Islam is the hatred of Israel. The redemption of Aryan man from the epidemic of Judaism was held to depend on the "final solution" and so is the destruction of Israel put forth as a condition for the salvation of Islam and the unity of the Arab nation. While, in the West, the Holocaust is seen (for the time being) as the deepest moral crisis in the history of Western civilization, and the deniers of the Holocaust are (for the time being) marginal figures, in the Arab world the situation is totally different. The very expression "Holocaust" refers to the "Holocaust of the Arabs in Palestine and the Arab world" brought about by Israel. For Arabs, this Holocaust is the failure of the Arabs to destroy the Jews three years after the Holocaust. While this may sound macabre to Western ears, it goes to the heart of Arab morality and anti-Semitism.
