CAIRO: Egyptian investigators have identified two more suspects from a deadly Cairo bombing this month and said they may be planning more attacks, a newspaper said yesterday.The daily Al-Gomhuria reported both men had “embraced the ideas of jihad (holy war)” and were on the run, bringing to three the number of suspects evading capture for the blast that killed three tourists and the bomber on April 7....
Ah. More Misunderstanders of Islam. It's amazing that this kind of thing can be reported day after day after day and yet Islamic apologists and their allies still insist with a straight face that jihad is a spiritual struggle and that any military application of it is secondary, remote, and rare, if it exists at all. How did so many Muslims get a wrong idea of jihad? They don't answer that one, except to blame the bad old Wahhabis -- which outrages the amply documented historical fact that jihad warfare has been waged from the beginning of Islam, and by the Prophet Muhammad himself, long before Wahhabism was even a gleam in Wahhab's eye.
Al-Gomhuria published pictures of the three fugitives and named the latest two as commerce graduate Ihab Yousri Yassin and teacher Gamal Ahmed Abdul-Aal.It said Abdul-Aal had left a letter for his family, later handed to police, saying he was leaving for “jihad”....
The ministry previously said the bomber, Hassan Raafat Bishindi, was part of a jihadist group and was tricked into thinking he had five minutes to escape after setting a bomb made from about 3kg of explosives and nails....

Another bomb in Cario, near the Egyptian Museum, which I myself visited nearly 20 years ago. One death, a local man, and eight injured. The injured include 2 Israelis, a Russian and an Italian.
OT, on the same Radio News, which the BBC are not covering (yet, if at all) another mass grave has been found in Iraq, bodies of Kurdish women and children dating from the 1980s.

Update on the murders in Egypt, from my commercial local radio station and carried by the BBC, 2 women open fire at a tourist bus and a second explosion.

The new entry proposed a few weeks ago at JW for Stedman's Medical Dictionary --the Weiss-Schwartz Syndrome -- identified, and named, a psychic illness that was just dying to be described.
Similarly, the phrase "misunderstander of Islam" which entered the language a few weeks ago at JW, now seems indispensable; it is hard to imagine how Infidels made do for so long without it.
Taking the noun "disrespect," and making a verb of it, appalls. Taking the verb "misunderstand," and making a noun of it, appeals. Not all enallages are created equal, or themselves create equally. In this case, "misunderstanders" was endowed with significance by its creator, Robert Spencer, himself happily endowed with certain inalienable flights -- of fancy.

Of course, Islam had nothing to do with it. It was all the fault of Israel for enraging these helpless souls with its existance!

All of this "spiritual struggle" and "self defense" is sure getting messy in the Land of the Pharoahs.
I guess the hordes of tourists have to be 'defended against'. Spreading those nasty, germ-covered euros all over the pristine bazaars of the sons (and daughters) of Sharia.
I suggest a new definition for JIHAD
"Unique Arabic word that can only be misunderstood".
