Theological equivalence update: if Jerry Falwell were carrying around a prayer like that, you would have heard about it. "Muslim prayer to be key in terror trial," from AP, with thanks to Twostellas:
SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- A young man charged with lying about attending an al Qaeda-linked terrorist camp was carrying an Arabic prayer in his wallet that federal prosecutors say is significant to their case.Hamid Hayat, 22, and his father, Umer, 47, are charged with lying to federal investigators about the young man's time at the camp in 2003 and 2004 as part of an investigation in Lodi that also has resulted in the detention on immigration charges of two Muslim religious leaders and one leader's son.
"Lord let us be at their throats, and we ask you to give us refuge from their evil," read the prayer on a slip of paper, prosecutors said in court documents filed late Wednesday.
They said the paper is "relevant to the question of whether Hamid Hayat falsely denied that he had attended a terrorist camp. It corroborates defendant Hamid Hayat's videotaped admission that he, in fact, had attended such a camp."
They did not explain the alleged connection.
I, Freakin' Batman, think the connection is freakin' obvious.

I believe that the American Muslim community itself must be forced, by the rest of us, to fess up.
The more that info like this gets out to 'Joe Six Pack' the better.
When non-Muslim American citizens begin looking at EVERY one of our Muslim neighbors, regardless of ethnicity or gender, as a potential jihadist, intent on our deaths and the overthrow of our government, then the fessin' up can begin.
As I'm typing this, Michael Savage is addressing the article on his show.
More. Faster. Better.

"Thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart"
This, on top of BigSleep's Sierra Madre quote at another thread ("We don't need no stinkin' truth.")confirms that has become one of the most entertaining as well as the most sensible website on the whole worldwide whatever it is, the watchamcallit, le truc, il coso.
Islam wasn't born witty. It is not witty itself. But it is the cause of wit in others. Thank god.

Being from California and having lived in the centeral valley for a time i happen to know there are quite a few good ol' boys who would love to have this guy back in lodi again to coin a phrase. Just run an add in the local paper with pictures and a brief description of the evidence. Trust me he would be safer in gitmo.

A three second sound bite from a female Lodi resident. " I think the FBI is just on a witch hunt looking for any muslim persons..."
Yep, thats what it is, a witch hunt...You would think the FBI has better things to do than bother Muslim persons...Is this woman daft or what?
I would bet a dollar against a cheap burger that this woman is a Barbara Boxer liberal...

See this is what I am talking about. Where do you start. What really needs explaining? Did he memorize the prayer at camp like all good terrorists? There's always this 'escape/excuse' clause at the end of all their little articles. Drives me crazy.

Hugh:
"There are no jokes in Islam" -- Khomeini
But he only said that because he never heard this one:
What do you call a first offender in Saudi Arabia?
Lefty!

Mr. Spencer-
What do you call a two-time offender in Islam?
Stumped?
Meanwhile-
What a coincidence! I, too, carry an Islamic prayer in my wallet.
Phonetically, it is:
"Salami salami baloney."
(Literally: "The peace that passeth all kidneystones.")
But, of course, it is written in lemon juice on the back of a 3 X 5 card that says:
"DO NOT IRON!"
(No dumb flatfoot would ever figure that one out!)

I'm quoting a headline from an editorial I once read by Jerry Falwell.
"The Republican Party is not a church."
I can understand some revulsion from people who listen to some of those preaching up the gospel on TV, but Jerry Falwell has mellowed.
Every once in a while he will exercise his right to free speech in a way that makes people angry. They should quote him, for example, discussing 9/11 as punishment for wickedness, right?
Some things are no-takee-backees. That shows a relative lack of intellectual elasticity on his part. Falwell had endorsed Allah's wrath as expressed through 19 hijackers, 16 muscle guys from Saudi Arabia if I'm not mistaken. He sort of switched teams at mid-field (and now for more gratuitous sports references).

Well.....I am just south of Lodi, CA and most of us are not fans of any LIBERAL Politicians. I agree with Ethoman, there are plenty of men and women in the Central Valley who could help Mr.Hamid Hayat scream ALAH.....loud and high enough to be heard all the way over in Liberal San Francisco.
